After the long nine hours flight we just landed in Guangzhou, China.
So what we are planning to do is to get visa-free transit here in Guangzhou airport
and let's see how easy it's gonna be. So at the moment you arrive to this area where it has like
24, 144 hours transit without visa. There is like a place where you can take a card which
you need to fill it up. It looks like like this. You just fill it up and then we're waiting on
the line but there is also the machine. I will go check so probably you will need to put your
fingerprints maybe before you go to that line but anyway there is like few people on the line
so we're waiting anyway. There is a machine here but it doesn't seem like it's working.
I tried it a few times and like you open your passport and nothing happens. There is one more
machine right there. Let's try it out as well. I'm just checking it out like while JJ is standing
in the line. It's actually not that many people but it's hardly moving like it's been like
like already 10 minutes. I think the person who's been there still didn't finish. So let's check
what's here. It's for free wi-fi. I found the machine to get the free wi-fi which will be
helpful while we're waiting but I guess yeah that's how it's gonna work. We'll just wait in
the line and they will take us. We are done. It was two options 24 hours and 144. We actually
have a flight in 36 hours but there was not such an option so we get the 144 hours visa.
It was pretty smooth and easy. The only thing it was really slow. I feel like we spent one hour in
the line because it was just one guy who was like really careful. He didn't want to make any mistake.
He was reading everything like three four times taking really slow. Yeah but it was good enough.
It's done. Now we're going to the immigration thing. So good we passed the immigration.
Got our luggages and now we're gonna figure out how to get to our hotel. We're staying somewhere
in the center. I check. I download the Guangzhou metro map and it says there is like a train
direct from airport. We just need to change one line and around like 15 minutes we're gonna arrive.
So let's try to figure it out. I heard there is like issue with some foreign cards so we'll see.
We have few cards. We have like Revolut and Vice as well. Hopefully they will work here. If not I guess
we'll use cash. We will see. Airport honestly looks pretty deserted which is not what you expect from
China. When we arrived it was really really busy but as I said we spent like one hour waiting for
our this free free transit visa. Visa free transit whatever. So I guess by this time everybody left.
See technology in China. When you come to toilet there is like this lightning which comes to the
floor showing that there is a wet floor. Now the main two issues is number one fix the money
situation. We will see like how we're gonna pay for the train and number two find where is this train
and hopefully get to our hotel fast and safe. So babe what's your opinion on this transit visa
process? How you find it? It's pretty easy to do. Really easy to do. All you need is like you need
to be eligible like from the countries. I think actually most of the countries are okay for this
visa. So here is the list of the countries guys. I will also leave a link in the description for
the official Chinese immigration website where you can find all up-to-date information. I mean
it was really easy process but it was slow like they had free table but only one person was there
and that person was really slows up. We had like six seven people in front of us and I feel like we
spent two hours. Yeah actually let's check what's the time. Now it's nearly five o'clock and we
arrive at three. So yeah it's actually been nearly two hours. Yes it was only six people so it wasn't
that difficult to get it done you know. But still I think that's amazing what they're doing because
they encourage like tourists to come. We were not planning to come to China. We were actually going
to Philippines from Cyprus to Philippines and when we were searching for tickets we found one
ticket with like 12 hours layover in China in Guangzhou. We were like cool let's do it and then
we start diving in and find out that we can stay up to 144 hours. So it's amazing and we couldn't
like match the flights to stay that long but we match it to stay like 36 hours which is still
really good. We have like half day one night and one full day so hopefully we'll see lots of cool
stuff in Guangzhou you know and probably if not this visa we wouldn't do that you know we'll just
like pass by or maybe get another flight. I think all the countries should learn from China. It's
really really cool. Okay so there is a metro sign here so we're following the sign. Yes babe? Exactly.
Look guys they even have intercity train which is really cool if you're not planning to stay in
Guangzhou and just going straight away to different city. But with our visa we actually cannot leave
Guangzhou. I think it says in the rules that you need to stay in the district kind of. Oh we're not
planning to leave. We don't have time actually because like we just have time to explore Guangzhou
not even everything so we're staying. Guys I just went down to metro before we check in the
to check if we can pay by card or we need to exchange some money.
I'm not sure if we can pay by card but there is advertisement to get like
recharge and like Chinese payment. Is it worth doing for us and you can attach the card to it
or should we just exchange just 50 pound just to have some money on us? Yeah I think let's exchange
cash baby to make it quick to the airport or to the hotel you know. So we decided to exchange some
money because we're not sure if we can pay for the train ticket with the card. I guess we're gonna
exchange like 50 pounds for now and then we'll see if it's enough. Yeah exactly.
Once we go to the city the things will become cheaper and easier to deal with. Yeah.
Hello. Yes. Here are the rates for the currencies for today if you need guys to check
for rough idea. Obviously it might change. So there are the money we get 390. Yes.
And according to my research like our train ticket will be like 8.
Let's do it. Probably we could have find a cheaper way than our approach but I feel like we have
little time in China it's better to go more smooth we already waste time with visa and everything.
Today it's already five o'clock you know and we are sleeping so probably we'll go to sleep early
today so at least I want to see something. That's why I said let's exchange it.
Actually I was thinking to check this tower the Canton tower I'm not sure if we'll have energy
for it. And we can check the shopping mall because we need shopping as well
and that doesn't have a time limit. That's true. We will see then first let's get into hotel. Yes.
Entering the airport metro station trying to figure out where is our station.
There is no search. Changsha Lu. Okay Changsha Lu it's where we need to go.
And then what we're doing okay we need two as well. Why it's Chinese again?
We know where is it now so I can try to put English. Let's change language first.
Okay now we're changing language. Okay perfect. Okay.
Okay it's where we're going. Okay price eight quantity two.
Okay two sixteen. We pay cash here. Only cash is open. Okay but we need to choose here. I know it
says insert notes or coin after selection. Okay we need 16 baby. We're gonna get change. I guess
put in 20. Let's see what's gonna happen. That doesn't work. Did I lie? So we have 20
the yuan the smallest note and I think it's not accepting 20 as you see it's here kind of
gray color. So JJ left to try to exchange it. I change the 20.
Yeah accepted.
No. Maybe I need to buy one by one. Let's do that. Okay accepted.
Processing. Okay. Okay we get ticket. One. And we get change. Okay so we're getting one by one.
Tickets are so old school. Yeah it's not even cards. Let me see. Here how it looks. I also
download the app for like Guangzhou metro. It says like we're gonna need to change the line in
where?
Okay.
So I was saying like it's not card but it's actually it works like card.
Technology. It's empty. Nobody's coming out. It's the first stop.
Our first Chinese meal. So this is quite something I think.
So we did check in our hotel. Had a shower. Relaxed a little bit. Have one more meal.
Delicious yeah. And now it's 9 20 in the evening. I'm having a little bit jetlag.
JJ feels fine here. You feel good? I'm ready to eat my way through the night.
Yeah we actually stay next to one really popular street. I will put the name here because I don't
remember it. And hopefully it will be still open. So we're going to check it out. Yeah try some more
food. Maybe make some shopping. It's a bit late now so I'm not sure if it's going to be open.
We're still a bit live. So hopefully it will be good. By home he means hotel for one night.
By home you mean hotel for one night. Yes. But yeah the one thing which is really impressive to
us is that like 99% of vehicles here are electronic. Yes. Like cars, scooters, buses, everything.
And it's so quiet. Like it's amazing. We're really loving it. In Cyprus you would be lucky to see
once in a year maybe electric car. Just listen guys how quiet is it. It's like everyone. Cars,
scooters, bicycles. Not bicycles okay. But like it's just amazing. Look at this.
Well like we were remembering how in Mumbai like you just stay in the road. It's like
beep beep beep. Here is opposite. So quiet. Yeah yeah. At first I was like why so quiet. And then like
when we were crossing the road and waiting for the cars to pass I start like checking the vehicles
and they're all electronic. It's amazing. It's so cool. First time I see such a thing. And dangerous.
If you don't look at the street you don't hear. Actually you don't hear it because the car is
behind you. You're like not likely to actually hear it. One more thing I also really like. It's
the streets here are pretty clean. So you don't really see the rubbish around. You see like rubbish
bags. Like here let's say. If you see under the tree. But it's fine. It's normal. They're waiting
for the like rubbish car to come and pick them up. And I see like sometimes there is like cleaners
coming and taking the rubbish from the streets. So it's really nice. This looks
delicious as well. Here is the street guys. And actually it looks pretty open.
While you're walking on the streets there is also sculptures. Like for example
that's the one. Here is another sculpture.
Looks nice. Another sculpture guys. Here looks a bit more deserted honestly.
Not that many people. And some things are closed as well. Honestly we're just trying to like be
awake. A bit jet lagged. And just checking around what is it. You know. Seeing the city
vibes and everything. Yes baby. Yeah checking that direction to see if we can do something. There is
something nearby. Normally I was thinking to get this to check in the first evening. This
pontoon tower and the opera house. But it's a bit far away. Yeah and it took us a long time. I feel
around after seven we came to hotel. It was like nearly half past seven. I think nearly eight.
And we are a bit tired. So we're just taking it easy actually. Yeah so today here we're just like
trying to get the feeling of Guangzhou. That we are in China. Good morning guys. It's our second
day in China. We actually slept really long. We fall asleep like 12 at night and 12 in the morning
we wake up. So we slept 12 hours. I guess it's also jet lag. Because it's like six in the morning
in our time. It's like normal time to wake up. But we was like rushing rushing rushing. Because
our checkout was at 12. But they didn't say anything. I think they just speak English.
In the hotel. And now we're gonna go get things done. Yeah but the thing is we have like one day.
So we don't really have much time to see some attractions. I feel like. Because first we need
to get some technological shopping. And we're gonna put it as priority. And then if we have
time we'll check some attractions.
Interesting yeah. The technology keep showing you different direction and how long.
Yeah and the sign is changing. It's like where you need to go. I don't know where we are guys. But it looks really cool.
There's some sounds and this kind of things. I feel like it might be some temple or something like that.
Not much guys. We're going like to the front too. But we still have few hours and go and
go before we go to airport. So we need to try some local foods.
This soup guys cost just 11 yuan. It's pretty good. Yes babe? Yeah it looks like it's gonna be delicious.
It's a bit chilly. So I think soup is a nice idea. It's nice. There is this thing that was yesterday.
Some pork skin I think. And the rest will be good. The thing in Guangzhou restaurants is there is like
no menu in English. So we just come to the ones which have the pictures. So at least
from the picture we can understand what is it. And we usually boil it. I like how much.
They show us some coca leaves. Can we get more?
So yeah it's a bit hard. Thank you. It's a bit hard to understand what you're ordering.
Let me show you guys.
This looks like some sweets. Looks really nice.
I'm thinking to go for one.
I'm asking the price. It's 10. Okay let's go. Let's get with jam yeah?
This one. This jam.
Oh it's going to microwave as well. It smells so good. It's like really soft.
Let's try. How hot is it if you put to microwave? It is hot. Be careful. Don't burn yourself.
Is it crunchy or more the softness? More soft. I will try with dough first.
It's not possible to try without dough. It's actually very tasty.
Sweet obviously. It's with jam inside so.
Really nice. We didn't have much time in Guangzhou so we couldn't explore everything on our list.
Despite that we had an amazing time. Did some shopping and indulged in lots of delicious food.
We'll definitely be back especially because visa-free transit
makes the whole process so convenient. See you next videos guys. Bye.
