Hi guys! Welcome back to my channel. Lisa is here as always. I know I'm not supposed to be here because
it's a last working day in Russia before New Year and I came to the shopping mall which is
packed as hell. By how crowded it is you can see how New Year is important for Russian people.
What you can buy in Russian supermarkets before New Year is this wonderful pine trees. There are
just few left because I think they're just sold out and they are pretty cheap. It's only 2000
rubles. Today I'm going to show you how to buy food for Russian New Year on a budget. I don't
have my cameraman today so I will buy on the necessities because I don't want to carry
very heavy bags. If you're wondering about prices of champagne let's check it out. So this Italian
champagne is 849 rubles. It's a cheap version of champagne. It's a Russian one.
It's not a bad one actually. It's only 389 rubles.
Mondoro Iced Tea Italy 1099. Prosecco Martini is 1099 as well. Probably you already know that
champagne and vodka are two of the most popular drinks for Russian New Year. Usually typical
Russian New Year dinner would have at least one main course dish with meat so I have to stop here.
Unloading in process because shelves are getting empty very fast.
Nice Russian mom or Russian babushkas would cook fancy meat dish like a baked meat or something
but I'm not that pro yet so I want to choose chicken for now. This is nice one. Chicken drumstick
320. It's almost one kilo. I like to spy on different people's carts because
you can tell they are prepared for the New Year. As you can see it is cart traffic. It is a cart
Oh my god this is fun. Cheese disappearing. Cheese disappearing. I might need to take a risk.
I want to go to the zone with salads and see if they have any Russian salads left
because this time I don't want to cook it myself. I already have cooking video on my channel so
the line is so big. This package of olivier salad is only four dollars so why to spend several hours
cooking this if you can buy it so cheaply. I know that my American friends especially hate this food
Polodets. Yummy
Pig shaped polodets. What's happening in veggies section? Is it totally destroyed? So far no
So far I've got basic meat, basic salad, basic drink. I need to hunt for basic fruit so let's go
and find some tangerines. They are not expensive but they are not beautiful as well because
people pick the best ones already. I feel like an adult when I have to choose vodka
Siberia orthodox. Siberian vodka looks so cool and price is 849. Beluga premium vodka is 2200
Fancy France vodka is very expensive it's 2189. Two years on sanctions but we have a lot of
imported alcohol like wine and vodka. What's going on? Here are some empty spots. It means that
this brand is popular. Russian standard vodka is almost gone. Then next popular brand is
Belaya Berezka. Also you can see that it's empty here and here's a big empty space
Special vodka Tundra. Imported from Russia. So it looks cool. I want to take it. I don't have
another words other than insane. Cola is disappearing quite fast as well as you can see
only empty packaging and I can say that cola is one of the most popular drinks for
Russian New Year. It is special Dobry Kola New Year design. Guys from the West please tell me
are you buying that much for New Year and winter holidays or it's just Russians are that crazy?
By looking at empty shelves you kind of know what you need to buy to celebrate
Russian New Year. Do you remember Ankel Vanya from Germany? I will take it instead of just
cucumbers. As I pretty much expected these are cashier lines
I would call it cart for lonely New Year. I've got one salad, chicken drumsticks,
typical chocolates, snack to drink vodka, pickles, tangerines, one bottle of champagne,
bottle of vodka and bottle of water just because it's crazy hot here and I'm thirsty.
Lady in front of me spent on groceries 14 000 rubles but she bought a lot. Her cart was so full
and my total bill is 1 907 rubles. Don't forget that this price you can spend if you're having
basic frugal lonely New Year in Russia but if you're doing shopping for your big family
you would spend probably approximately 100 US dollars. Not only supermarket is very full
the whole avia park is busy as well because people are buying last minute presents. Usually
these jewelry stalls are very empty but now there are at least 10 people around. While I'm here
today guys I wanted to show you beautiful New Year decoration of avia park shopping mall. This
beautiful pop-up store sells stylish sport equipment. Strangely no big Christmas tree in here but
they put here amazingly huge dragon all around the world's biggest cylindrical aquarium.
This is the last video in this year on my channel but of course we will see you very soon in 2024.
So I wish you happiness and see you very soon. Bye-bye!
