Flying over Niagara Falls & Evening in Chicago: a Close Call in the Cessna 182

Day 4 of our Florida to California trip in the Cessna 182
We started off in Hornell NY and headed up for Niagara Falls and some lunch. We had the G5 fixed there (it needed a new battery) then flew through Canadian airspace, saw 4/5 Great Lakes of Michigan and landed at Dowagiac for our fuel stop.
A Piper Malibu asked us which runway was in use while we were on final runway 27- then didn't make any other radio calls before we saw him short final on the runway we were back taxiing. A great example to always be vigilant!
We departed safely and ended our day downtown Chicago.
