The January transfer window is on and there are some players who need a fresh start.
Here are 10 footballers who need a new club, starting it off with Kylian Mbappé.
The Frenchman needs to leave PSG because he has been held back by the level of other
players at the club. Mbappé might thrive and win the Champions League at a bigger club.
He is available to sign a pre-contract right now.
Maybe Real Madrid can finally make a solid move and get Mbappé before anyone else.
My second pick was Jadon Sancho, but he's moving back to Dortmund.
However, his former teammate David De Gea is a free agent. He has made countless
crucial saves and put points on the table for Manchester United over the years.
When Van der Sar left and they tried various different options, David De Gea came in and
was the guy that basically filled Van der Sar's shoes and it was so difficult to do.
You want somebody that can do a job, guarantees 7 out of 10 every single week. David De Gea did that.
He was doing 8s and 9s out of 10s.
Letting him go had a negative impact on the team's morale and cohesion.
Despite his dip in form in recent times,
De Gea is still a really good goalkeeper and needs a new club to keep his career going.
You know who else needs to get out of Manchester? Calvin Phillips.
Phillips is in a bit of a tough spot at Man City.
Even when Rodri got suspended, Phillips didn't get to start.
Instead, Pep Guardiola chose Rico Luis for the midfield. That pretty much says it all.
Phillips knows what's up though. During the international break,
he said he realizes he needs to play more if he wants to stay in the England squad.
He's thinking about his future and might make a big decision soon enough.
He's probably checking out other teams to join right now because
the Euros are coming up at the end of the season and he definitely doesn't want to miss that.
I will make a video on 10 biggest curses in football history.
If this video gets 1000 likes and talking of the Euros with England,
Harry Maguire also comes to mind. Even though he has been playing alright recently,
we all know that Maguire's situation won't get any better. He's 30 years old now and was
actually advised to leave during the summer transfer window, but he chose to stick around.
Unfortunately, things haven't really improved for him since then,
so he should seriously be thinking about making a move in January.
If he stays at this dysfunctional Manchester United team,
I'm not sure if any good club will want to sign him in the summer.
Another Englishman, Emile Smith-Rowe has become an outcast at Arsenal
and it's all thanks to an injury messing up his game. By the time he bounced back,
the team had already shifted gears. Martinelli and Trossard took over on the left flank,
and Arteta's even considering playing Jesus there before giving Smith-Rowe a shot.
The attacking midfield spot is owned by the captain Martin Odegaard who never sits out,
so Smith-Rowe's kinda stuck waiting for chances. Poor guy's in need of a change,
like a transfer, maybe just a loan, you know. He's gotta ditch north London and find a fresh start.
And you can say the exact same thing for Eric Dier.
Believe it or not, the defender has only played three games for the club this season.
Sometimes he's chilling on the bench, other times he's not even in the squad,
but the point is, he's never in the game. Posta Koglu, the Spurs manager,
has his favourite defender duo Van de Ven and Romero, and poor Dier is just left hanging.
We thought he'd get some action after Sanchez left, but nope,
nothing changed. Right now, he's not even in the running for the Euros next summer.
If he's serious about getting a shot, he better ditch Spurs as soon as possible.
Okay, so on the other side of north London, Aaron Ramsdale needs to leave Arsenal.
Ramsdale has started only once in the last 16 Premier League games. The main reason is the
arrival of David Raya on loan from Brentford in August. Raya has performed extremely well,
and forced Mikel Arteta to choose him as the number one goalkeeper. Arteta wants competition
for every position, and Raya's presence pushes Ramsdale to improve. It also aligns with Arteta's
focus on playing out from the back, as Raya is known for his excellent ball-playing skills.
But Ramsdale was clearly Arsenal's first-choice keeper before Raya's arrival.
His demotion is not good for his confidence and his growth. He should seek a move right
now to regain playing time and become the number one goalkeeper again.
Another goalkeeper who needs to find a new club is Keller Navas.
Navas has won the Champions League three times and he is just chilling on PSG's bench.
Like why, though? He's already got all the trophies. Dude needs to hit up a club where
he can actually play, you know? Last season, he had a good time at Nottingham Forest,
so why not pull a move like that again? And it's not like nobody's interested. He got offers in
the summer but turned them down, probably thinking he could change the new coach's mind.
Well, turns out he can't. Donnarumma is still the number one goalkeeper.
So Keller, it's time to hit up those teams you said no to in the summer. Time for a fresh start,
On the other hand, Dortmund's Youssoufa Moukoko is also low on game time.
This young German Cameroonian kicked off well at Dortmund,
even broke records in Bundesliga and the Champions League at just 16.
In the 2020-23 season, he got a lot of playtime when Haaland left,
and Haller was out sick for a long while. But this season is a whole new story. He's
only played for 255 minutes because Haller's back and Dortmund signed Fulcrum.
Even though Dortmund's a big deal, it might be smart for Moukoko to make a move.
He's turning 19 and needs to be on the field more so people don't forget about him.
He doesn't need a massive change, he just needs to go to a club where he can play regularly.
A loan move sounds like a cool idea too.
On the other hand, Uri Tielemans might be looking at going on loan soon,
even though he just joined Aston Villa a few months back in June.
Since he got there, he's not been playing much. And in a recent game,
Villa coach Unai Emery even picked Matty Cash,
who's a right back, over Tielemans in the midfield. Not cool, right?
Now it looks like Tielemans isn't too happy about it,
and he's thinking about changing clubs in this transfer window.
A loan move to Dortmund would be a good shout.
Meanwhile, Malang Sarr is the ultimate outcast at Chelsea. Chelsea has tons of players,
especially centre-backs. And if you're not in their good book, it's game over.
Sarr is like a ghost there. Chelsea's got so many centre-backs that they probably don't
even notice him. Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino doesn't even know who he is.
This 24-year-old French guy just needs to bail from Chelsea in January,
if he still wants to kick the ball around.
On the other hand, Jesse Lingard is also a free agent like De Gea.
Lingard's career has been marked by periods of impressive form,
but he has also struggled to maintain a starting role at his clubs.
This lack of consistent playing time has made it difficult for him
to establish himself as a top-level player.
Lingard has also made some questionable off-field decisions that have attracted
negative headlines and may have damaged his reputation among potential clubs.
The English Premier League is a very competitive league,
and there are a number of talented attacking midfielders who are vying for top spots.
This makes it difficult for players like Lingard to secure regular playing time.
Lingard has found it difficult to secure a permanent contract with a Premier League club.
In pre-season, he was training with Steven Gerrard's Al Ittifak in Saudi Arabia,
but nothing came of it.
Lingard is a free agent and he is looking for a new club.
We'll wrap up with Thiago Alcantara.
His case at Liverpool is unlucky. Injuries are the most significant factor.
Thiago has missed considerable time due to injuries,
limiting his impact and consistency.
Thiago's playmaking style doesn't perfectly mesh with Liverpool's high-pressing,
direct approach.
While he excels in dictating tempo and threading passes,
the team might miss the dynamism and verticality provided by other midfielders.
The physicality and pace of the Premier League
can be different from what Thiago experienced in Germany,
and he hasn't adjusted fully whenever he has played.
Jurgen Klopp remained a strong supporter of Thiago
and believed he could be a key player for the team,
but that phase has passed now and Thiago should start looking at new clubs
where he can play regularly.
