Ballinger Family Camp 2017 - Duncan's First Time!

go [Music] today is our first day out at camp we drove all day yesterday are we there yet no no no no no no are we there yet no this is a family camp that we go to every year is a Christian based Family Camp where we get to spend time in nature spend time together as a family and spend time focusing on God and it is so much fun we look forward to it all year round and we've been going to this camp for the past three years there is a lot of really fun stuff to do so let's go do it Jacob how was class today good the kids are just getting out of their class basically in the mornings they've got like a class where they get to either go on a hike or go down to the creek or do a craft Jacob did a craft today what craft did you do foreign let's just take a second and appreciate how awesome this maze is oh you cracked the code you did it yes what did you do today I went to the creek what's the Creech it's a creek Beach oh it's a beach on the creek what games did you play we didn't play in play any games but but built to dance you built a dam did it work did it hold water a little bit a little bit of water still working on it Parker what did you do in your class today made calculators calculators you mean binoculars yeah let me see how they work oh my goodness look how big his eyeballs are it's so big these binoculars so far so far why are you back that's super cool are you hungry yeah let's get some lunch I guess you just had food well let's get more food let's get some lunch yeah foreign our lunch and now we're going to go on like a little scavenger hunt they've hidden these numbers all over the campground and the kids are finding them and putting stickers on a map and if we find them all they get a prize I don't know what the prize is but it's incredibly intriguing because they won't tell us what it is we want to find out just as much as we want the prize when you say that's accurate Bailey boy you you have a hood on you're like a little Obi-Wan Kenobi hello there or Princess Leia yeah they both had hoods on didn't they a number okay let's find the next one another number quick another number what number is that Parker number seven [Music] we found another number almost there [Music] we're about to go on the Rope course you guys look ready so we're gonna go across all of this and then zipline back down let's do it thank you having fun yeah all right [Music] Parker do you want to go up there yeah when can you do it today how old do you have to be so when do you get to go up there are you so excited hi Duncan you having fun at the ropes course it's gonna be you in five years buddy oh there goes Daddy oh it's Jacob's room oh look at him [Music] she's gonna do it that's her favorite thing [Music] go barely go oh my goodness look at you all the way up there Bailey are you having fun it's gonna be you next year Mister yeah this year's a long time it is [Music] how you doing Jake you good yeah whoa whoa be careful okay he's going way out there [Music] [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] thank you [Music] let's go down a zip line [Music] [Music] [Applause] oh you were so close Bailey's almost to the top she's gonna ring the bell nice [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign course was really cool I was doing all these crazy moves I loved it I like the ropes course because you get the zip line down at the end and also I liked how I was doing all those crazy tricks I didn't fall and I didn't get any help I had to get rescued a few times because I was suing a little bit too crazy I like going on the Rock ball because I like to walk the rule yeah what rule I like not going across the green line climbing the rock wall was so fun I rang the bell two times the rock wall is really fun I went and climbed it and got to the very very top and rang the bell two times hi let's talk about what we learned today we learned that Parker's calculator can see very far we learned that it's okay to do crazy tricks on the Rope course as long as you don't get too crazy and finally we learned that you should never give up even after you've reached the top go ahead and ring that Bell twice [Music] thanks for watching Everybody we'll see you next time [Music] good morning everyone today we're eating pancakes I bet you wish you could eat pancakes right now okay so sometimes pancakes fall on the ground and what they do is they save those pancakes and they use them for the pancake toss and then they reuse the same pancakes over and over and over again so no pancakes go to waste we had a really good time eating pancakes and now the kids are in class so I'm hanging out with little dunkers hi [Music] hi did you have a good morning did you have a good morning we're having good conversation [Music] kisses see yourself in the viewfinder who is that baby that's Duncan we're gonna hang out here for a little bit until the kids are done with their class and then we'll go on an adventure we're doing some crafts this is my first model and I'm just Jacob got his first model car here it's gonna be this 65 old 88. he liked it because it looked like a race car and we are putting together the engine right now and we're using a glue gun instead of model glue which smells much nicer you don't know what model glue smells like but a glue gun is a lot less smelly [Music] this is my painting it's called a Lily Lily Pond it's a painting of a pond in a garden on a sunny day that reminds me of a Monet were you thinking of Monet when you painted that little bit I really like his painting me too this is a car thing yeah yeah [Music] wow oh there's a steering wheel in there and everything what did you make sweetie I made an airplane my heart came out of my heart what was that hurt from my heart this heart was in my this heart and then it came out at this heart that must be why it's so beautiful oh cool plane I'll show you something okay no sturdy plane good job Bailey and Jessica went to have like a mommy daughter date so I have all three boys Parker Jacob Duncan and we went on a little hike and we found the big ropes course which I've done before they always change it though so it's like a different ropes course than it was when I did it but I haven't been on it the last two years because my kids aren't old enough to go on it I went with a friend the first time I feel like it'd be more fun to go with somebody but it's super cool and I'm just waiting for this guy to get old enough and Bailey too yeah Bailey's gonna be old enough soon too but it's super cool it goes all along here all through the trees you can barely even see it it's it's so like Tangled Up in the trees and I can't wait for Parker to get old enough too Parker really wants to go on it I really do yeah I've been waiting like so many years the littler one has like three obstacles and then you're done yeah but you found a way to swing on each obstacle very aggressively it's much fun it is a lot of fun we're gonna play teams Jacob and Parker against me and Duncan let's play [Music] foreign [Music] it took us two days but we finally got all of our stickers on our map which means what do we get a pin wait you found out what the prize was yeah oh I saw all our most of our friends had pins on oh are you sure that's what it is or you think that's what it is I'm pretty sure fun facts about me I can't hear the difference between the word pin and Pen I have to really focus on it in order to say it right all the things say to go to the front desk for the prize and we just went to the front desk and they told us that we had to go somewhere else which is closed right now so we'll have to get it not tomorrow because tomorrow's Train Day the next day if you're new to our Vlogs you probably don't know this but Train Day is my favorite day of the year and it's coming up tomorrow do you like Train Day yes do you like Train Day do you like Train Day yes I so don't miss the next Vlog when we go on a train right the kids are in their evening classes and Christopher and I are taking this time for ourselves and our marriage and our baby so we are on a date Bailey and I oh proof of date Bailey and I actually got a little date time today too and it was really sweet Christopher took the boys off and I had girl time with her and we were talking about adoption and she was saying how like how great she thinks adoption is she was saying how she loves that people who can't have children are able to adopt and how people who need to be adopted are able to be adopted it was just a really great conversation so I thought of this book that I'd heard of but we hadn't read before and we went over to the bookstore and they had it so I got this book kisses from Katie it sounds really good so I'm excited we're gonna read this together or Christopher's gonna read it to all the kids during their bedtime reading story time I don't know exactly how we're gonna work this out but almost done with Treasure Island I think we're on the last chapter so oh we should probably it's perfect I think it'll be good I think it's appropriate for all the kids especially with Daddy reading it but if actually if you've read it before and can tell us all right tell us in the comment section yeah give us some ideas on it it looks really good though so yeah you want to say [Music] yeah and you're trying to say some words and say I love you I love you can you say I love you oh now you're getting fussy I think he wants to take a shower you want to take a shower can you get all cleaned off you have too much Mountain on you ninja Daddy can you say baby baby baby [Music] clothes baby Duncan's so cute he's at this phase right now where he's I think he's trying different sounds with his mouth it could just be us like imagining that he's doing that but he's definitely like mimicking like mouth shapes and sounds that we're making with our mouth sounds and syllables kind of like he'll go like if you go baby yeah and then when we said I love you who's going oh earlier today he was going he full-on said baby with Jessica he was saying he was but it I he doesn't know that like that word means this but he was like repeating the sounds of the word so which is pretty cool which is really cool babies don't talking at this age no he's just a little baby genius he's a little guy he reminds me a lot of Bailey when Bailey was like a toddler she knew words that she wanted to say and if she couldn't figure out the right word she'd get frustrated and I feel like that's what happens with him is he like finds something cool and he tries to do it a few times and then he starts getting really frustrated I love you sorry I laughed at you little bunny I know you're trying that's a lot of drool and you're like a slobbery he's just doing a whole lot of scheming look at his little hands little skinny hands I would plan I will make plans to stay awake at night he said boo I love you [Laughter] [Music] babies are fascinating we're doing zumba you do what they do Mommy's doing it can you do it oh there you go [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] let's talk about what we learned today we learned that Parker decorates sturdy planes we learned that babies aren't supposed to talk this young but that shouldn't stop them from trying and finally and most importantly we learned that our family zumba's real hard thanks for watching Everybody we'll see you next time [Music] thank you today I'm really excited for train day it's one of my favorite days at our family camp we first have to go down this long walk then we have to get on the train and then we got to go to an amusement park then we go on the long train ride back home and then we have our dinner once we get back to our family Camp look at the zipline course 162 right here 162. that's really awesome we are in an old train car that's right behind the engine that's the engine right there I don't know how old this thing is but I'm assuming it's at least 100 years old what's up is it still gonna go yeah it's gonna go [Music] we made it to the Santa Cruz boardwalk and the first thing we're gonna do is play some Plinko let's do it and the Plinko guy's not here so we can't play Plinko well we can play Plinko but we can't win anything so the kids are playing blinko kind of but we're not gonna let that stop us from having fun let's go have some fun oh let's go on a pirate ship you ready [Music] oh my God [Applause] [Music] what should we do now Jake okay are you doing this again yeah what why because I wanna it's really fun [Music] oh no oh no oh no [Music] magic shop you guys remember laughing Sal laughing Sal Parker she's scary I don't think so [Music] magic shop open wait it doesn't doesn't seem very open to Me Maybe that's their first trick Plinko is open now and had a slide slides open and I'm so excited [Music] what first try let me see that wow okay Bailey's going sticker it was my turn that was mine she tried no chance my goal is to win 10 rides let's see what happens oh where's it going I got my goal that was my first try I didn't like filming this a bunch of times man I only show you that one that was the real thing that just happened oh my goodness I can't believe I won it on my first try foreign [Music] sorry buddy [Music] you're such a good boy I love you normally I go on this ride with the kids but I'm rocking a baby right now to try and get him to go to sleep because he's not sleeping so the big kids are on this ride by themselves I don't think I've ever let them go on a big Ride Like This by themselves before that's them right there [Music] you did it good job what'd you guys get coconuts that looks like a lovely bunch of coconuts nice now you get to eat the coconut inside [Music] how was it was it good it is time for us to ride one of the weirdest rides that I think I've ever been on the cave train adventure it is one of the strangest rides I've ever been on you don't think it's weird not really what do you think Bailey's a weird it's pretty weird hey it's pretty weird it's ridiculous it is ridiculous it's ridiculous it is ridiculous [Music] archaeological to you is doing a little excavation work s undisturbed for thousands of years remember okay people scare easily so no flash photography [Music] wow what do you guys think is that weird what was it weird yeah yeah I told you it was weird whoa we're going up pretty high we're up pretty hot way s [Music] you know what joke never gets old thank you for taking me on such a nice home ride Parker this is so common that died what are you doing thank you [Music] Parker that was that was wild I'm glad it's done yeah but we finished wait we're going back up back up back up you're in a whale I think technically it's an orca nothing all right [Music] somehow Parker is tall enough for this Insanity are you sure you want to go on this yeah you want to go upside down okay this little swinging cage thing it's kind of fun it makes us go up makes us go down what does this thing do though I think it stops it from spinning what do you think Parker is this fun are we having fun do you want to go upside down I will make it go upside down if you really wanted to yeah you do want that [Music] whoa wow [Music] is that too much too much now you want to go upside down again you wanna go upside down again yeah yeah okay here we go upside down wow wow [Music] okay I calmed it down I calmed it down nice and calm here we go oh it's nice and peaceful if you don't pull this lever here should I pull it again too much is that too scary no no you want to do it again yeah yeah okay here we go again again okay here we go [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] I don't know if I could do it again okay here we go [Music] you okay again what [Music] oh I think the ride is stopping now we're up at the top look at the ocean there it is now our stuff we're stuck up here what is that a twisty potato looks delicious is it good I'm a little worried we're gonna miss our train supposed to leave at 4 15 minutes 4 17 right now but I see it it's still there right here This Guy's in the way as long as we keep him in the way we're good [Music] hi let's talk about what we learned today we learned a trick that every magician is guaranteed to fall for putting an open sign in a closed magic shop we learned what the weirdest ride in the world looks like and finally we learned that going upside down is never too much for Parker thanks for watching Everybody we'll see you next time [Music] good morning everyone the Wilderness is getting us good these past couple days as you might be able to tell I am a crazy sunburn Christopher is over here so Christopher's sick and I might be getting it but I'm drinking my emergency packets and trying very hard to stay well we went all all day in the sunshine yesterday and I did not put on any sunscreen because I was holding a baby and my hands were full and I was like thinking about it and I was like I feel like my skin is sizzling and burning a little bit I did not put on sunscreen so what can I tell you what a mess this is what happens I just didn't know how I could do it because I was holding and like nursing the baby I was like and everybody else was on rides and playing and stuff and I had a sad baby with me so I don't know I just couldn't do it my hands felt very full I was a sad baby you were a sad baby you were a happy baby you went upside down yesterday huh Parker was at the space where he is dropping his naps he has napped once a day up until now but lately if he takes his nap which is kind of like hard to happen and he doesn't want to take it but we can get him to nap but if he does that then he's up until like 10 p.m causing all kinds of mischief and he won't go to bed during his bedtime nope nope nope but then when he doesn't now he is an emotional wreck by the end of the day so yesterday he threw away a straw but I said you can keep that buddy don't worry and he wouldn't he threw it away even though he really wanted to keep it and then he fell to Pieces he fell to bits because his straw got thrown away but then what happened Mommy found the same straw on her way home and now you have a straw you can kind of see when he gets tired ballingers get like very pronounced under eyes when they're tired so this is normal all my kids have been through it different ages Bailey was like two and a half messy hair yeah kids are so good for your self-esteem yeah so Jacob wants to know if his eyes look tired not really well do you feel tired we'll see if Bailey looks tired does Bailey look tired so yeah Bailey started missing her naps at like two and a half Jacob was like three or four and then parked as a solid core so he's my longest Snapper which has been good they all go through this phase where they're either staying up till 10 or grouchy till like seven when they go to bed since we had this map here we went in to redeem our prize and Bailey want to show us what what you got oh that's fancy Jacob got one too and Parker's taking a nap but he also got one so the kids are gonna bring his to him and I'm gonna let them take it from here they'll tell you what else is happening we're off to getting a lanyard for me this is the lanyard station it is closed but we're gonna pick out which ones Jacob wants and when he goes to his night class we'll be able to get he wants this look at that one two how cool is that this one's pretty cool too these are cool oh look at that one that one reminds me of the forest I have this one okay this one very cool that's what Bailey's working on it looks like you've been working on some other crafts too when we made Jacob's car I got so much glitter on my fingers we keep checking it to see if it was dry and it wasn't you see a little bit on my thumb there but it was like coating my hand I went to get coffee that night and the lady was like you are really sparkly and I said yes I know I'm a vampire that makes me think of coffee and I think we should go get some coffee oh wow have you guys ever seen the movie modern times it's a Charlie Chaplin movie when we go to the coffee shop they have better wi-fi I'll see if I can pull up a clip from it because that's what this reminds me of I'll show you coffee and the kids are playing checkers you can't move sideways [Music] that part reminds me of all those gears we are off to dinner now and Bailey did her own hair so I thought I'd show that off for a second oh what a fancy lady turn around very nice Bailey is teaching herself how to braid her own hair good job honey thank you I caught her in the bathroom brushing her hair and putting on lip gloss and she was like the happiest little girl that ever happened and I was like Bailey are you expecting to see someone special tonight what's what's happening what's the occasion she said no daddy we're having a barbecue and I want to look I like to look nice what'd you say I like to go be nice for a special event well you look lovely I hear your little baby giggling about it so I have aloe vera coating my face and neck Zone and all over and it's a whole thing but we are off to dinner they're so pretty out here [Music] we're in a redwood forest and redwoods are really cool many years ago some of the woodcutters cut all of these trees down and then all the redwood trees grew back around the stumps there are these like little tiny clumps of trees and then they grow into this really really huge a whole bunch of really really huge trees in Nevada in about a few years you know what that's called that group of trees it's called a cathedral it's really cool it's really cool that's one of the reasons why out in these forests there are many rings of red Redwood Trees I'll show you an example in a few minutes once we get to a place that I can show you an example another interesting fact about redwoods is they can catch on fire but once they catch on fire there are leaves and stuff are on fire but they're still alive and they're they can still grow their leaves back all these trees were once one big tree until it got chopped down it's really amazing they're really amazing amazing amazing plants I really like my day camp because we have fun and fun is fun we get to swim sometimes play at the creek also we get to do slip and slide well in my class that's the thing that we've been doing at night time we always have classes too so today we are going to go there early at like 5 15 and we get to go and see the counselors that we can go and eat with them it's a special day and then at the end we'll play in soccer today I'm in the water today and I loved it they spread water on me and they were throwing balloons at me and they were actually they were throwing balloons at the teachers and the teachers tried to throw the balloons at them which was the Toddlers and I loved it and I love you guys dinner was nice Duncan was really good he's been really good on this trip it's been later nights than we're used to earlier mornings than we're used to and he's been adapting really nicely to that so that was really nice but I feel like with me being sick it's put a larger burden on Jessica I feel kind of bad about that she's been incredibly strong part of the reason she had a sunburn is because I was so out of it yesterday and didn't notice that she was holding the baby like the whole time anyway right now I'm picking up the kids and we've got another little like Camp event that's happening the kids are really excited about him not sure what to expect [Applause] show me what you made it Jacob made this today in his class looks like you finally got your lanyard string huh are you ready for your last day of camp tomorrow's the last full day let's make it a really good one okay yeah yeah I have ice cream oh yes tomorrow we get ice cream yes [Applause] yes clearly we're all very excited about tomorrow hi let's talk about what we learned today we learned that kids are really good for your self-esteem [Music] we learned that you can't move sideways and checkers and finally we learned that Bailey likes to look nice for special events where they shoot toilet paper up into the air thanks for watching Everybody we'll see you next time [Music] good morning everyone what is going on with your hair I did messy day you had messy day let me see this hair oh my goodness we're still at our family camp and the kids are coming out of their class and Parker had messy day today what other messy things did you do just the shaving cream what'd you make in your craft oh look at that silly fish it's almost as silly as your hair no not even close not even close your hair Takes the Cake we're gonna eat lunch real quick and then we can go on the boats his hair we do have one more thing that we need to do before we can go to the pool it's our family to Shin that on our last full day of camp [Music] are you excited Duncan Parker do you know what flavor ice cream you're gonna get chocolate vanilla yeah and old vanilla [Music] thank you [Music] each kid got to pick three different flavors what flavors did you pick Bailey Rocky Road bubble gum old time but walk this track rainbow sherbet yeah chocolate old timer and you Bubblegum rocky road and 10 20. yeah yeah and I got the classic mint and Chip because it feels soothing on my throat parts and what'd you get wow I got cookie dough 10 27 and chocolate and 10 20 in heaven are like mixtures of things like fudge Oreo and peanut butter cups a lot of chocolatey excitement so the kids each got kids sizes but they could put as many flavors in as they want and just kind of got single Scoops but you can put as many flavors as you want single Scoops here are completely outrageous and they're like they're like seven Scoops look at this it's like the most ice cream I've ever had and this is a single scoop Scoops yeah the kids size is three scoops yeah all of Joseph it's gonna be a set all of this so you're gonna swap buyer you're gonna be on fire there's a blue tongue it has a brown tongue there's some no teeth [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] thank you Bailey and Jacob went to the pool a little while ago for their class they had pool day with their class today so Bailey decided to stay and help with Duncan so I just have Parker and Jacob we're gonna go to the pool [Music] are you finally in the pool oh boy one kind of sad thing happened my GoPro isn't working but two awesome things happen Jacob just passed his swim test which means he can do what the diving board and what else and then the other thing that happened really whoa oh wow can you see underwater when you do that you can what does it look like it looks like looks like from above first time on the diving board how was it [Applause] I'm just going on a stage and doing a show you're doing a show for me yeah wonderful What's it gonna be about songs very cool let's go check it out [Music] bye guys [Music] [Music] [Music] I can't see Jesus Christ hi let's talk about what we learned today we learned that Parker totally wins it at the whole messy hair don't care thing we learned that Bailey doesn't waste her time on Long drawn-out Jenga games learned that underwater looks an awful lot above water [Music] thanks for watching Everybody we'll see you next time [Music]
