Alright, we're out here in Park City, Utah
checking out the new Woodward facility.
I've got Cody Kelly up there with me.
We're going to go check out this indoor skate park.
They've got a big foam pit. Some fun stuff.
So we're going to go see what it's like and
hopefully Cody's dad will be a good filmer
for us today. He's a little squirrely so
I don't know what it's going to look like but we're going to give it a shot.
So yeah, let's go on in and check it out.
How about you check out that mega booter?
Yeah, I can hit that.
We're heading up
to the boat track here.
This is their first round so they're probably
going to look pretty squiddy.
That's gnarly.
That guy's sick.
Nick Van Dyne.
Oh, that's Van Dyne?
Nick Van Dyne, yeah.
Alright, so
what are you looking at so far, old dog?
What's that bag right there?
That's a handrail into an airbag.
The airbag doesn't look like it's very full.
It's not supposed to be too hard.
Oh, you jump?
You like it? Yeah, it's pretty cool.
Yeah, I can't do them
180 turns though.
So they need to make some straightaways that keep on
going or something.
What do you got going on over here, Justin?
I'm just creeping here.
I've probably got 10 years on everybody
in here, man.
Hitting the foam pit for a little bit?
I don't know, it's pretty old.
You got Nick's foam pit over there.
You got photographer extraordinaire Justin Olsen.
Let's see what you got.
Nice!
Alright, pal. Let's do it, dude.
Is this your first time?
Here.
This is gonna be good, guys.
I gotta wait for this kid to go.
Oh, you gotta let the kids go.
You might want to get over there by that guy.
Alright, let's see what Justin's got.
For those of you guys who don't know,
getting out of a foam pit is a mission.
It is a mission.
How'd that go?
Alright, what do you think Cody's gonna do?
I think he's gonna do a...
I think he's gonna do a jump.
He's gonna do a 360 where he's looking
through the frame like this.
Alright, alright.
Oh, what's he gonna get?
Nick Van Dyne with the cash roll.
What'd you think of that, old dog?
It was pretty good, man.
You did a full black backflip right there.
Sweet. So in this room we got two more
little roll-ins over here.
We got a quarter and an airbag.
So the airbags are really good for learning
how to jump onto a landing.
So you have a little bit more consequence
than just the foam, but basically it helps
you learn how to stick a trick right out of it
and feel that feeling.
Then basically the progression goes
foam pit, airbag, and then the resi ramp
which is the one over there. So that's pretty cool.
It looks like we have a sick little vert wall
over here too.
So this is the room with the box, the rail
and the other box. And then basically you go down
on the airbag, learn how to do tricks on the stairs.
Then over here you have two of the same boxes.
You have a rail and then the vert ramp.
So basically what you do is practice your trick
land, turn around, come back, and you just
get a bunch of repetition in. So it's really easy
to practice your tricks and get them dialed in.
So you take it from over here on the airbag
go right here to the exact same setup, learn it
onto concrete, and then just do reps on that.
So it's a really, really sick area to learn tricks.
Really good for progression and
definitely a safe environment where you
still can feel what it's like to do it in the
real world before you get over and practice your tricks on the
concrete. I couldn't even imagine being
a kid these days with all these tools.
We just learn by wrecking in the dirt and taking diggers.
So these kids are very lucky for sure.
Let's go check out the concrete skate park
and see what that's all about.
There's a gate right here. It's got a weird
thing on it. Maybe you can figure out how to work it.
But it's right there.
That's the gate. Alright, we're checking out the
concrete park now. Yeah, we're going to the concrete.
That's the gate. That's the gate right there.
Having fun? Yeah.
Is this just like the coolest place you've ever been?
Is that expired? Can you kick them out for us
please? Yeah, but just because you asked.
Later guys.
He's got a wrist band. Can you help him film a little bit?
Oh yeah, definitely.
Am I still good?
Yeah, you're still good.
How's it feel to be this out of your element?
So far, God.
I used to live in these things, man.
Concrete's scary as shit.
What's the best part so far?
Well, the only thing I can do
is get into that concrete.
Alright, we'll go check it out.
Alright, I'll be down low.
Hey, old dog.
I think you did okay.
He did okay. I tried.
If the camera footage is shaky, blame him.
I think you did good though.
Yeah, I doubt it.
Alright, old dog, that's a wrap.
Alright, let's go.
We're outta here. That's it for our day
here at Woodward Park City.
Huge thanks to the Woodward crew for letting us play around today.
We all had a blast. Cody was killing it.
Old dog was killing it on the camera.
Had a really good time, so
super stoked to be out here. If you guys are ever
in the area, definitely come check it out.
I just want to say a huge thank you to Judd
at Alpine Bike Parks. They were a big part
in the dirt side of this project, and he was
the one that set us up today to come ride and check it out.
So huge thanks to Judd.
They have a full lift access park over there too.
Dirt jumps in the summer. It's kind of
every kid's dream. These kids have it good.
They don't even know what they have.
With that being said, we're gonna go head off
in the snowstorm, try to make it home, and see
how far we get. Thanks for watching.
Hope you guys enjoyed, and I'll see you next time.
We got a celebrity sighting over there.
Big Daddy.
You see him?
Same Big Daddy over there.
Alright, we got a Big Daddy spotting out here
at Woodward Park City. How do you feel about
none of these kids doing X-Factors?
I feel pretty good about it. I don't have to
go out there and
break down on no one for stealing
my trick. That's fair.
I think the kids are pretty respectful.
They understand
the trick is made for
one guy
to do it correctly with a proper
workout system
and tricep build
and the whole overall demographic
to make it look awesome.
I think they know better. Yeah, I agree.
I think they're scared, personally.
Sorry.
