How to Find Arch Rock in Joshua Tree National Park | California

Over the last couple years it's become a bit of a tradition that whenever V and I are in Joshua Tree,
we stop by the Arch Rock. You used to be able to park inside the White Tank Campground,
but it seems like these days they want everyone to park at the Twin Tanks Trailhead.
We will have a link to the article that has all of the information including the GPS coordinates
to the parking lot in the description below. One great thing about this hike is that even
though it is a little bit longer now with the new parking lot, it is still only about 1.2 miles long
and it only has an elevation gain of about 80 feet. This makes it really nice and accessible
to most hikers, but with that being said it does get really hot here in the summer, so if that's
when you decide to visit, be sure to bring plenty of water. This hike may be short, but it has a lot
of really cool things to see like this cool rock formation that V and I call the Spine.
Shortly after the Spine, you'll head down some stairs and then you will see the Arch appear on
your right side. This in my opinion is one of the best photo ops in the park. I think that a lot of
people see the Arch and turn and head back, but they're actually missing out because there's a
lot more to see if you head through the narrow canyon on the other side of the Arch. After you
make it through this bit of a squeeze spot, you're gonna have to do a little bit of rock scrambling
and head off towards your left. This should drop you down into a sandy wash where you're going to
another left. This will take you to a really cool tunnel that we actually found by accident. I might
be using the term tunnel a little bit loosely here because what it actually is is a bunch of
giant boulders that have stacked on top of each other and created a hallway that runs through
them. Once you exit the tunnel, you just need to head up this short hill and you'll find yourself
at the back side of the Arch. It's not quite as photogenic as the front side, but it might be a
cool shot to take just so you have a picture that looks different than everyone else that visits and
just takes a picture of the front. On the day we made this video, we got a really late start on this
trail, so after playing around at the Arch for a while, we needed to race back to the car before
we ran out of daylight. We love this hike because it's nice and short and the payoff with the Arch
is huge. What is your favorite hike in Joshua Tree? Let us know in the comments below and if
