#skateprogression #skatingat25yearsold #danwebz
what's good skaters welcome back to
another video today we're going to be
going over some skateboard progression
giving our thoughts and just seeing if
we can maybe add anything to it give out
a little bit of help to anyone else that
might be trying to learn how to skate
all that being said we've got Giovani
sto onee skate progression as you see
the channel is Slater here we got 2.8
mil views on this which is pretty mad so
we're going to full screen that and
we're going to go through this and see
what we
think at the age of 25 already I love to
see that people star skating at a later
age it's great to see the progression of
these two
nice this is one of his like first ever
sessions then this is extremely
good almost it that's why it's always
best like slightly lean forward when you
drop in cuz it's always best to fall
forward rather than back you know what I
mean at least you can see where you're
going here decent Ollies decent
ollies
he this is I
mean that's pretty good for the first
day I actually not I suppose this is
over months isn't it I'm being an idiot
I've been watching so many of them
videos where people say they're learning
stuff in a day that I'm like immediately
skeptical but obviously this is real
because he's doing it over months as you
can see we're already a month two so
let's
continue see it took this guy over a
month to learn how to ollie and he's got
the same sort of muscle definition as
the guys that we've reviewed in previous
videos that were clearly pissing
about having a little go in the pools so
this is some of the most fun skating to
be honest if you're just gun it around a
big
ramp okay let's see if we can offer some
help here all right so we're going for
this Ollie his shoulders are in line
with his feet as he pops I would say
that front foot could come down the
board maybe a tiny bit maybe sit just
like here if you want to get a nice olly
let's see the pop let's go frame by
frame in the pop
okay so the knees come up the back foot
comes up but he's not putting any weight
onto the front foot right so that's why
the board is like staying more vertical
and then not coming down till like here
it's more coming down on its own rather
than him controlling it and pushing it
down to the ground and because of that
the board then goes off AIS and his
shoulders misalign with his feet and it
all becomes a tragedy from
there so just make sure you keep that
front foot shoulders in line with each
other and put the weight onto the front
foot after you've popped to level it out
just like that not bad not bad at
all okay same skate
park month three now we're zooming
through this first pop shove see this is
actually realistic skateboarding
progression man I like to see this stuff
this puts like you don't want to have
all these videos showing people learning
stuff in like an hour 20 minutes because
it just makes other people that want
learn how to skate think if I can't do
it in that time why am I even bother him
sets unrealistic expectations which is
what people fail to
realize yeah we got some 180s first
front 180 that was also my first
180 air out the quarter pipe not bad got
some decent height on that too as well
man hell yeah and that like body posture
in the air having your arms spread out
and like I have this thing sometimes
when one of my arms goes behind me and
it can really mess you up so having this
good like y shape posture is good for
when you're in the air for
sure okay we're one further way through
the
air yo fakey big
spoon Slappy curb water slide you'll
find the like this guy the progress kind
of like compounds and builds fairly
quickly over time so you'll start off
and you'll be learning super super slow
you might get a few things here and
there and then you'll get to a point
where you'll learn a bunch of stuff
quickly and then it sort of levels out
and you've got to grind for the next
level up the skill Gap in skateboarding
can be so steep to like flat line and
steep again it's crazy it's such a
unique sport like
that he flip attemp with tow drag that
was yo heel flips
already I assume as this guy is in his
mid 20s he's probably not got all the
Time in the World to skate so this is
great progression so far and it seems
he's got a lot done this month foli he's
done a heal flip
already o up this um Manny pad too there
nice nice all right we're hitting the
halfway
point off the ledge and you can see he's
starting to get a bit of style as well
right so like when they're going down
the ramps you can see that the stance is
withstanding a lot of the impact good
balance on that that was a solid 180
compared to that last month
180 that was
clean height comes with
time that's dope man that first kick for
the feeling and it looks legit as well
this guy's love like he's not too
overreacting you can tell he's worked
hard for it you
know what we got
next they air out the
quy first fakey big spin I'm just going
to bun this music down a wee
bit 8 foot ball jeez coming out an 8ft
ramp man that's quite a big
ramp and especially way I always measure
it right is like especially if you're
standing at the top of it it's not just
an 8ft ramp it's 8T plus the 6 foot of
you on top of it or say five for average
five foot your your eyes are like 13t
off the ground so it's way scarier than
what it is in my opinion at least I
always thought that when I was a
kid I like this fit I can't can't
lie that champion jerse is pretty
sick yo that was clean
man and he's like the look on his face
straight gas hell yeah like shocked gas
though and you could tell he's getting
comfy because look at the way he's
pumping over these
humps riding the
waves another great tip for new skaters
is just do this honestly just do what
he's doing and get used to pumping the
transition strengthen up those legs a
lot moving heel flip yo that was pretty
nice okay let's see where we're
at I mean that was kind of similar to
the one we saw earlier in the
video 180 on the
ramp yo solid
kickflip in the parking lot pop shove
it okay we've not done too many new
things there's not a lot of oh that was
a big one well that did look like he
came off at the end let's review
that but I don't know about that one
Chief month
nine first backside 180 like one of the
most notoriously difficult 180s I know
some people don't struggle with it but
the majority of people that I've met
really struggle with the backside
compared to normal compared to front
side oh little
twep this is another trick that for some
reason I battled with for ages when I
was a kid just
mentally I was always such a little wimp
as a kid but that does go away with age
they do say that
um exposure therapy is definitely the
best right the more you go down a ramp
the easier the ramp's going to be and so
on and so forth As you move up the
heights front board side this is still
this is a trick that I still don't
really frequent that
much okay
yo that was the whole thing as well not
bad I love them little Slappy curs very
rare to see them these days very rare to
see them knocking
about Little Indie grab front board of
fakey
again it seems he's learned a bunch of
tricks at like the beginning level of
skateboarding and then he's sort of got
to that bit where you sort of Flatline
and there's not a lot of more tricks
that you can learn you're just sort of
perfecting the ones you can do so then
you can build off those in the future
like this for example he was getting
shoets and kick flips and now we're
getting varal flips a year in and that's
great progress
man now we're going for a front side
full cab and before anyone says a full
cab can only be a backside watch the
nine Club episode Steve cabalero
literally says it can be front side or
backside and he invented the trick so
get off my ass you goona anyway back to
the video oh Ollie down the Gap too
nice going to hit the ledge
ball slide oh oh not bad man not bad a
little wide ledge ball
slide it's a nice shot
too that's clean but a lot cleaner than
the first
one although the airs haven't like I
will say the airs haven't progressed
much they're all pretty much the same
height but that's something that I feel
I don't really like you need just so
much speed to get a good height out the
quarter pipe in my
opinion
yep normal ball slide
Little Rock and Roll on the quarterpipe
that looks like a fun little quart pipe
set up the middle one the tiny one in
the middle and the two either
side front side heel flip fakey
obviously nice down the
Gap little front show off the ledge this
is a really realistic skate video for
someone's progression in in my opinion
if you were to set your goals similar to
what this guy is doing or even not quite
as advanced I would say that would be a
great first year for your skateboard
Journey TR flip
maybe oh jeez not quite though you can
see he stepped off that I think this guy
is actually I'm going to you know he's
probably not uploading still but I'm
going to subscribe because I thought
some that was some solid skateboard
progression if you guys have any more
progression videos you want me to check
out and maybe offer some advice on let
me know I'll see you in the next video
oh and if you got this far please do
consider becoming a member because a lot
of these videos get demonetized but this
one should be fine anyway thank you guys
big love see you in the next
