What are the Days of the Week?

Hi, I'm Ashley and welcome to Days of the Week. Do you have a calendar? Would you like to start reading the calendar yourself and being able to tell others what day it is? In this video, we're going to learn how. Are you ready? Let's go! This is a calendar page. Do you have a calendar at your home? Each calendar page is set up in weeks. There are seven days in a week and the days are listed at the top under the name of each month. So the month would be listed up here and then the days of the week are listed right here. One thing that's important to know is that the days on both ends here, Sunday, and then over here, Saturday those are called the weekend. And then the five days during the week between those two days are called weekdays. So we have Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are weekdays. Now, let's learn how to read the days of the week. Here's the first day of the week. It is Sunday. Say it with me. Sunday. Here's the next day of the week. Monday. Say it with me. Monday. Here's the next day of the week. Tuesday. Say it with me. Tuesday. Now here is the middle day of the week. Wednesday. This one is spelled funny, but we say Wednesday. Here's the next day of the week. Thursday. Say it with me. Thursday. Now here's the last weekday. Friday. Say it with me. Friday. And now our last day of the week is Saturday. Read it with me. Saturday. And that's it. We just learned the days of the week. There are seven of them. Sunday and Saturday are the weekend. And then your weekdays are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Be sure to practice what you've learned with our fun online games and quizzes. And remember to always be clever.
