Watch the best of the action from our Premier League trip to local rivals Manchester United.
And so, for the 191st time, City meet United in one of the oldest local derbies in football.
The context of simply being the best team in Manchester has long since been usurped.
Yet for the fans, of course, that factor alone makes this such a very special occasion.
There are signs and flags and tributes to the late, great Bobby Charlton.
And indeed, there will be a minute's applause ahead of the game to reflect on his sad passing.
Rodri in that central midfield area of the pitch, lays it out wide to Bernardo Silva.
Bernardo Silva thought about crossing it and instead plays it back to Guardiola.
Guardiola on to Rodri, still in and around the final third.
Out it goes wide to Walker. Walker, back towards Foden.
Foden and Haaland, and it's off the line and then scrambled away.
And City, well, how did that not go in, Andy? It looked as though it had to.
It's a wonderful ball from Rodri, it's a passage of play we see a lot.
Carl Waugh is really high, it's a wonderful ball.
Great direction, it's a save he should have made.
And he's done really, really well, really well, really brave.
Grealish coming at Dalot, plays it infield to Alvarez, then it bounces off Dalot and out for a City corner.
And City have a corner in the 19th minute.
City normally work on their corners stringently,
and here's a short one in the end to Stones, back to Grealish.
Grealish in a crossing position, now he works it on to his right foot,
and it's parried away by Onana.
It was probably going in, but you always fancied Onana would get there.
United insist on playing out from the back, but it's not really getting them anywhere,
and in the end they're going to give the ball away, I think.
Yeah, they do. Stones wins it.
Amrabat in a bit of a mess, and Haaland wins it back for City.
And then Foden, was he fouled?
Referee says yes, free kick to City.
And Amrabat puts out his arms and says, I did nothing wrong.
But Paul Tierney says free kick to the Blues.
Cross comes in, there's a bit of a mess in the area.
There's a claim of a foul by Rodri, pleading for VAR to have a look at it.
Paul Tierney is completely unmoved by that.
The ball is then played forward, Vardio heads it on, and he says he was fouled.
Referee has just blown his whistle.
And VAR have checked something, and they've asked the referee to go and have a look.
Well, he's gone over to the monitor.
Rodri felt he'd been pulled.
We're just looking at it now, and he was.
He's pulled, there's no question about it.
There's a pull on the shirt, the referee's had his attention brought to it.
It will be a City penalty, and from the spot, City will have the chance to take the lead.
Yeah, he's given it, he's given it.
For a foul by Hoyland on Rodri in the penalty area that was spotted by VAR.
A chance for City from the penalty spot.
Haaland scores.
And City are in front in the 191st Manchester derby.
And Erling Haaland, who scored a hat-trick, of course, against United last season,
is one-third the way to another one here.
He sent Ananda completely the wrong way.
Great, dragged it across his body, found the bottom corner, and never in doubt.
That's a brilliant penalty, under a massive pressure on a huge stage.
Brilliant.
Vardyar, just about inside the middle third rather than the final third,
but he advances, plays it out to Rodri.
Rodri comes infield, out wide to Grealish,
Grealish is fouled, free kick, Evans is penalised,
right on the edge of the area, went in too quickly, Grealish was too nimble.
Alvarez with the left, or Foden with the right.
It's Alvarez, he's gone straight for goal and Onana palms it over.
You always expect the goalkeeper to make that save.
Yeah, he's a man in form, he's entitled to take that opportunity.
Actually, that's a really good technique.
Maguire plays it out to the right to Rashford, Rashford hits it first time,
good ball, there's a chance for United here in the middle,
the shot's brilliant, the save from Ederson is even better!
That is a magnificent save from Ederson, wonderful shot,
you have to say that was brilliant, and it was a terrific save.
Really good save to deny McTominay.
One more chance perhaps in this first half.
Rodri, Stones, that's good.
Stones lost the ball, didn't know where it was.
Grealish onto Bernardo Silva, crossing position for Bernardo Silva,
pops it in, Haaland, brilliant save!
Absolutely stunning from Onana.
Wonderful goalkeeping, Andre Onana has saved United
probably from losing this derby in the first half.
Rodri has two to his left, one of them is Bernardo Silva,
onto the edge of the area goes Bernardo Silva,
in towards the far side, Foden came in and hit it over the bar!
Well, Lindelof thought he had him covered, he didn't,
and Foden put it over the bar.
Ederson pops it forward up towards Foden, he's got Lindelof behind him.
Walker on to Rodri, Rodri on towards Alvarez,
Alvarez inside the United half,
out wide it goes to the left, lovely ball.
Grealish now with Fernandes in front of him,
can Grealish get beyond Bruno Fernandes?
Outside it goes to Bernardo Silva,
clipped in, Haaland, 2-0 City!
That is a magnificent goal!
Absolutely devastating from the Blues.
Clipped out to the left of Bernardo Silva,
floated ball to the back post,
very similar to the one that was saved by Onana in stoppage time,
but at the opening minutes of the second half,
Haaland gets it beyond Onana,
and he's now two-thirds of the way to his second,
Manchester derby hat-trick.
Once that run and the timing, that reverse ball from Jack's brilliant,
then they're all sorts of trouble.
Rodri makes the middle of the goal, pulls in,
I think it pulled in Johnny Evans,
and then Haaland's spare at the back.
Rodri arriving in there is what drags in...
Oh, it's brilliant, it's so, so good from City,
there's so many little bits in there.
Fantastic, what a move from City, that is.
And the way that the Blues tore United asunder there
was a joy to behold.
On it goes to Foden, wide on the right,
up against Lindelof, comes infield.
Foden, options over to the left-hand side,
bounces off Stones, reaches Grealish,
Grealish in the penalty area, opens up to be hit!
Good save, Onana!
And without Onana's contributions,
City would have been home and hoes by now,
and City really are piling on the pressure.
Stones in the middle third, now into the final third,
Chex plays it to Alvarez, Alvarez out to Foden,
Foden to Haaland, Haaland on the turn,
Alvarez on the edge of the area, back it goes to Alvarez,
Alvarez outside, Grealish in the penalty area,
right across the face of goal!
And it goes out for a goal kick.
Good football again from City,
Grealish just slid it into the box,
it beat everybody.
City bossing possession,
Rodri towards Stones, Stones out wide to Guardiola,
Guardiola on towards Grealish,
Grealish now to the final third,
on it goes towards Haaland, Haaland to finish it!
Good save Onana, came and smothered him,
he has been outstanding for United today,
without his heroics the Blues would have four, five,
maybe six goals, at the moment it's just the two.
Brilliant passenger play again,
it's such a small area there,
and Onana looks huge when he comes out there,
and defends it really well.
The ball is with Diaz, midway inside the City half,
scooped the ball out to Alvarez, delightful,
Alvarez in a little pocket of space,
on it goes to Foden,
if this ends in a goal there will probably be 100 passes,
Foden still in possession,
and now Rodri, and on towards Bernardo Silva,
and Bernardo Silva on to Grealish,
Grealish in the penalty area,
McTominay's in front of him,
Grealish keeps hold of the ball,
ball goes backwards,
they must have held the ball for three or four minutes here,
Rodri now, comes towards the edge of the area,
tries the shot, Rodri, good save by Onana,
Haaland on the rebound,
Foden, he does end in a goal,
have lost count of the passes,
but it must be treble figures,
and City lead 3-0.
I don't know where to start,
I really don't, and I don't know how many passes,
we've got to be over 50, 55, 60 passes,
before that ball's got into the net,
and United have just chased and chased,
they've kept the ball moving,
they've been patient, and then it's brilliant.
It'll be the turnover on the save,
which might have broken it down,
but shots off, the keeper should have pushed it wide for a corner,
and then brilliant from Haaland.
It's just phenomenal from City, it really is.
Of course Foden scored his first ever derby goal
in the 6-3 win last season,
he's now scored in two derbies.
The ball is out wide with Grealish,
Grealish in the left wing position, City could get more here,
Grealish into the penalty area,
tries to get beyond Dalot,
crosses deflected, little bit of a scissors from Foden,
and he missed by about a metre,
Onana could not get anywhere near it,
and it just fizzed by the post.
The Posnans just broken out by the way,
towards the right-hand side of the main stand at Old Trafford.
City have won the 191st Manchester derby,
but the truth is that City are the best team in Manchester,
and it's the scoreline that truly reflects it.
The full-time score at Old Trafford,
United 0-3 City.
