A WET AND RAINY DAY AT THE ALLOTMENTS / ALLOTMENT GARDENEING FOR BEGINNERS

I want my pathway back guys it's raining so [Music] much good morning guys welcome back to my alotment Diaries my name's Emma these are my alotment Diaries you're watching them right now and we had a storm oh yes we actually had two storms in a row and it hasn't done too much damage to my plot but I thought I need to get down here I need to assess it oh hi Einstein good morning this is Einstein my little Robin who always comes and says hello are you waiting for some food yeah I'll get you some food in a second hang on you can see just behind there just the minimal storm damage it just needs a little bit of uh little bit of a tidy up to be honest it was mainly just all my rubbish that flew everywhere so I'm going to go and uh rescue it all and bring it all back basically yeah yeah I'm going to feed you first yeah will you just relax for a minute honestly you feed them once you feed them once you'll be feeding them forever that's a warning honestly you are just so impatient let go put my raining that's what I'm calling it sporadic rain don't why your house you pooed on your house Einstein you've pooed on your house do you think I poo on my house at home no I don't don't you do it straight on it straight on it today look how close you are to me crazy Einstein honestly it's almost like you'd trust [Music] me just started very sporadically raining then what I mean by sporadic is very inconveniently raining cuz I don't really want to work in the rain but you know needs must right let's um go around I'm just going to fix as much as I can collect as much as I can from the storm so let's do that [Music] first [Music] they're not really going to stay up if I haven't put them up properly all right we'll leave that yeah just very minimal storm damage just a few things fell over um a few things blew away yeah yeah you didn't blow away did you I was a little bit worried about Einstein actually I was thinking gosh I hope he's safe In This Storm because obviously there's not many places for sort of birds to hide in at the moment cuz the trees haven't got leaves and stuff so yeah I was worried I was a little bit worried about all the animals here I was thinking oh gosh should I go down there but then I thought no get impaled by a poly tunnel or something I I was also hoping that one of these trees would fall down sort of a little bit of wishful thinking thinking oh imagine that entire tree just like fell down by itself and then I just didn't have a tree there um or some of these ones but alas they did not they did not fall down so do you remember my poor little pathway I think in the last Vlog well one of the Vlogs that I did last week I said about how a lot of people said it's got um what's it called asbestos I keep calling it asperges like my pathway does not have asperges and if it does like it's fine I'm totally cool with that but it's asbestos um well a lot of you got in touch and said no it doesn't um and the people who got in touch were actually asbestos experts and Builders who um specializ and removing it and a lot of them said it's not as it's not Asbestos and then you said asperges again it's not asbestos so it's just thinking if it's not and you really don't think it is I want my pathway back and obviously obviously the council have done nothing not responded to me or anything because why would they but that might work in my favor so I'm going to go and get it back I'm going to get it back I don't think it I don't think it is ASB bestos I've done a lot of research on it now and I don't think it is I want my pathway back guys you know how much I loved that pathway no back [Music] fine yay it's back again I've eaten it up at some point but you know what I really don't think it is asbestos I've done a lot of research because I got very panicky about it I know they're dark but they are most definitely porcelain or concrete the pattern underneath usually it's honeycomb when um it's as asbestos gosh I keep trying to say the other word it's not that it's asbestos yeah and this is diamond and it really does not look fibrous the one that broke and I really just think it's just concrete or porcelain I think they're just bathroom tiles so asbestos is something that was used years ago and normally you find it buried under the ground which is what we found in our Victor in tffs when we were doing the garden and this I found on top of ground sheet and it must have been there a year year and a half tops so I really don't think it is but yay got my pathway back so I am very very happy um right camera battery is flashing for some reason so I might have to go onto my phone for the rest of this Vlog and I hope the quality be okay but I did have one job I wanted to do today in the rain um so this is a Goosey Bush um it's called a Goosey invictor Goosey invictor and I thought it'd be perfect in my new allotment plot and I found the perfect spot and I was thinking about it all last night cuz I thought I just know exactly where I want it to go and I want it to go here stand up then right stay and if I move back I'll show you where I put it I think there in this little square that I've left in front of my pumpkin Archway I think that is Goosey Central I think that would be the perfect spot can you imagine a lovely big Goosey Bush coming up all the gooseberries behind it the pumpkin Archway flowers all next to it I think that's like the perfect spot for it so I'm going to stick it in there and try and contain it to this little square I have another shovel where's my other shovel G hang on hang [Music] [Music] [Applause] on that looks deep enough to me I'm not an expert though but I think that's deep enough what I'm going to do is put a little bit of a compost from the other bed in the bottom just to give it a little bit of a a good start in life open you up mate I think you are supposed to soak the roots in water overnight before you plant them but I've not really had a chance to do that right that's gone to my phone now so hopefully you can still see me okay right into the hole fill her up break it up a bit as we do that it's raining so much my friend nice yeah like that yeah I can see that looking really nice actually I'm really happy with that guys I've made it into my shed I'm not looking around too much cuz I'm a little bit scared I'm a little bit more than a little bit scared my heart is pounding right now how can this be in my shed if I'm this scared of it how can this be in my shed I was just looking to see if I've got any broad beans because because um I thought I had some but apparently I don't and I really want to start sewing them soon basically God please um they're runner beans I've got so many runner beans no I don't have any broad beans okay so I'm definitely going to have to buy some St beans a no it's just a dead plant why do spiders look like dead plants they really shouldn't oh are these these broad beans no these are run beans okay I've got loads of runner beans I have no broad beans need to get broad beans I need to get out of this oh this can't be my Shir I'm going to have to burn it down I see no other option right I might take all of that netting off of there now cuz it seems to be crushing them you know look I don't like it they don't like it I don't think they like it um it's okay for keeping the frost off but it does seem to sort of crush their Spirits a little bit do you know what I mean they look a little bit like they're like why can't we grow higher and I'm like yeah grow higher it's fine guys just grow up it's totally cool I'm got any broccoli on this yet absolutely none zero zilch and the chard looks so sad it looks like it's just flopped over and died I really hope this bed comes to life I think we just need a bit of sun little bit of warmth it'll be back to life again I'm sure it will so muddy today like seriously look at me look at me why am I not wearing a coat I don't know it's so wet and rainy and just miserable today I don't know what else I can really do here in this kind of weather I think I'm just going to have a little look at it all see what it looks like make me feel better I think ultimately what I need to be doing is sorting out these little bits of areas here making that neat I need to put some beds in at the back and sort that out I need to get rid of the rubbish at the back down there but other than that I think we're good to go for spring we've now got our little Gooseberry in just there which is fantastic this is looking good I'm really confident that this will be ready to grow in the springtime and I'm excited too right it's raining again now so typical anyway I hope you enjoyed my Vlog today I hope it inspired you to get out there and do a little bit
