Hello everyone, this is Cindy and welcome to Sinshaven and Garden.
Hello everyone, in this episode, I will be making a raised garden bed
here on the side of the house.
In the last episode, I showed this space that was full of grass.
Now, this is it. It's clean.
We can now make a garden.
The materials are also ready.
The raised bed that I will be making is hollow blocks.
We bought this for 13 pesos each, including the delivery.
We bought about 60 pieces.
I can now make 4 raised garden beds using these.
The size of the bed is 3 hollow blocks wide,
and 4 hollow blocks long.
I will be planting a lot of things here.
This is what I will be planting first.
After this, I will be planting the other bed.
What I will be planting here is not just soil.
I will be planting organic materials first,
such as banana trunks and leaves.
Garden soil is expensive now, so we need to save.
Save, but the planting should still be long,
for a healthy plant.
I will just plant these.
I will be placing a carton of sand,
so that the grass won't grow.
If you don't have banana trees,
you can use small trees or branches,
and leaves.
You can use green and brown leaves.
These organic materials will eventually rot,
mix with the soil, and become fat.
These are the tomatoes that I planted last time.
When the vegetables turn red,
I will mix it with vermicast,
to lower the soil again.
When the leaves turn yellow,
it is expected that the soil will be lowered.
If this is a garden bed,
it just adds fat soil to the top,
or it can be compost or vermicast.
This is the end.
I can plant this now,
but I will finish the other beds first.
This is the next day.
I covered it with plastic,
because our cats and dogs are scared of it.
And because of that,
I decided to put a cover around the beds.
What I will use is this old cat cage.
It is built, so it can be used as a cover.
Our cats will just take a nap here,
that's why we don't use this modular cage anymore.
This is the end.
I couldn't take a video of the whole thing after.
But this is it.
I was able to plant the other beds.
In fairness, even if the fence is low,
our pets don't go there.
That's all for now.
See you next time!
God bless and happy planting!
