Jesus heals Simon's mother-in-law - The Chosen scene

Hey, it's Dallas and I'm gonna show you a scene from season one in just a second You know We've been doing this for about a year now Releasing various scenes from episodes 1 through 8 in the hopes that perhaps you or someone you know will want to watch the entire season Well this scene that I'm about to show you has a little bit of a backstory They're just I'm just gonna share very quickly This is from episode 8 and it's the story of Jesus healing Simon's mother-in-law and in the Gospels That's only given just a couple of verses but we wanted to create as we normally do a plausible backstory as to what could have led to this and made it even more powerful and One of the things that I came up with when we were coming we were talking about season one And we were plotting out what season one would look like and this was over a year and a half ago and this was one of the first scenes that came to mind as we thought wouldn't it be cool if The healing of Simon's mother-in-law was one of the things that freed him up to go follow Jesus and so I remember when I was thinking through how this could work I went to my wife and I said wouldn't it be really amazing if Jesus pulled Simon's wife aside and spoke to her really directly and just said I see you and I want you to know that I'm aware that the sacrifices that Simon is making couldn't be done without you and that in many ways They're also your sacrifices and you are also making additional sacrifices that are extraordinarily difficult And Amanda started crying and I was thought well, that's a cool immediately I knew the scene would be would work, but she said that's what's what's so powerful about this is that it's not just about Simon's wife, but this is a scene that in many ways could be said to Tens of thousands of ministry wives all over the world Sometimes who feel like maybe they're not as much a part of the ministry or that they're missing out even though they're making sacrifices they're missing out on some of the exciting parts of this ministry and Jesus was saying to Eden and I think he's saying in this scene to everyone I see you and I know That what is it?
