Just feels like there's a different vibe about this match now. Ding has the momentum but that red
stays out. And this red looks like it will go to the middle. This is a chance for Matt Selt.
Got to remember. In front. Nice spot. Bad miss from Ding Zhengwei. Eight. Safely negotiated.
Played it well. He's okay. May need the spider. Nicely played. Never easy using that implement
but he played it well. He knows he's let a chance slip by there. Chance to punish as well.
Got to be in these shots on this table. He could go into the reds here. That red above and to the
left of the black slightly. Be a good red to play against. He's okay. Thirty-three.
Forty. Forty-one. Forty-eight. Fifty-six points the lead.
Matt Selt. Forty-eight. Oh, he's missed a simple red to the middle.
Not an easy putt left for Ding Zhengwei but a chance. Not really close. And that'll be a big
relief to Matt Selt who might have feared the worst there having missed the routine red. That's
a worrying sign for Ding's fans. This isn't a gimme though. Not even close. So things are getting a
bit tense now. Has he got away with it? This is what can make a difference between winning and
losing. There's a huge amount of stake here of course. Prize money points. Ding looking to get
back to where he was. Matt Selt looking to win what would be the biggest title of his career.
Yeah, good putt. And it's a big boost. It's double your money time if you get to the final.
More than. Another mistake though from Ding. Not getting on to those two reds. Seven.
Well, this would be a huge frame for Ding to win, wouldn't it? It looked as though Selt was
going to move too clear again. He needs to do a big bounce here. Could have done with a little
bit harder. The red is still on. Eleven. To the right of the black is available. Left corner.
It looks good. He's nicely on it. Sixteen. Nice angle on the black now to get to either red's
left or right corners. Big moments these. He was looking for the world there. It was
Matt Selt who missed that easy red to the middle. Twenty-four. Yeah, when he takes this next red,
it opens the way for all the others. Thirty-one. Taken in the right order. They all go. No need
to play any cannons. Thirty-two. Twenty-five points behind now. But his favourite for this frame.
Thirty-nine. His cue ball control around the black spot area is superb.
When he plays that last shot that he played, he doesn't put any side on the cue ball.
Forty-seven. Forty-eight. Fifty-five. Fifty-six. Well, he's got a nice angle on the black to get
to the yellow. He's got it. And now that man fearing the worst. Sixty-five. Sixty-eight.
Seventy-two. A place in the Turkish Masters final. What a comeback from Ding.
Eighty-three. This week with surely the best snooker that we've seen in the tournament.
It's a fluke, but he's not on the colour. He's not, but he could easily have led that red over
the hole. He's trying to hit this red. Send it down the table and bring the cue ball back towards
black. That's what his plan is. That's a good safety from Matt Selt. I can't see anything
better than that red above the middle pocket. Clipping it thin and leaving the cue ball on
the black cushion, on the ball cushion. He's seen something different. I think the red next to the
pink will go to the ball corner as well. So he's got choice of reds. This isn't too difficult,
really. No, he can actually cue it cleanly, can't he? No wonder Ding was up quickly.
What a chance this is for Selt. That's a good putt under pressure. Really is. Well played.
Nothing particularly safe here, so it's a really good chance for Selt.
11. 12. He knows he's had a good chance slip here. He was in first.
Played into the reds and he really didn't need to. 18. 19.
25. It could come down to that red nearest the cushion in the balk area.
Oh, he's overcut it. Ding's up like a shot. He's going to have to take that green at some stage
so the red goes into that pocket.
1. And nudging the blue out. But it's only going to matter if Ding can punish here.
Left-handed. And he played one like that the other day and made a mess of it. Now does the
red go past the yellow? If he is, he's a lucky boy. Well, judging by his body language, it surely
doesn't. It must be tight, Phil. It must be tight. Well, this is going to hurt Matt Selt even more
if this red flies in now. 5. 5's a win. I don't know what he was doing there,
but he may have thought, I've been so lucky. And he was. 4th straight frame. He needs down to the
blue and he's pushed the blue out into a possible position on his first shot. 14. 16.
Not a big frame this is. Both players have had chances.
Things still need a good shot on the green. Good pot and position. There's the pot. 19.
For a very hurtful steal for Matt Selt. 23. Wow, what a frame. Very edgy stuff.
Tripping with tension. It's going to go the way. There's four frame on the bounce.
And now it's Matt Selt who's going to have to dig deep because he knows this frame really should
have been his. But it's Ding Zhengwei who takes the lead for the first time from 3-0 behind to
lead by four frames to three. He's had clear chances in the last two frames, both of which
have slipped by. He's still very much in contention of course. Only one behind. 6 is the target.
Good shot. 6. 7. 13. Pink behind the pack of reds because there's no room on its own spot.
Or any of the other ones. 14. 21. 22. Well, he's left a nice angle to go into them and if he can
swing this cue ball into the reds, miss the pink. Let's see if he can swing it.
Caught the pink. He needed to miss the pink. Matt Selt, 29. Well, given the safety advantage
away playing that shot, Matt Selt didn't play that for the simple reason that he gets
the safety shot. Pushing the red towards that right corner and another chance for Matt Selt.
He's not had a lot of joy from long range into this right corner.
That was in his mouth there for a second. 9. 16. 17. 24. Kiss could have been kinder.
This is a real pressure shot. He's 53 points in front. He's playing for the blue, which means
he's going to leave a red on if he misses it. But he didn't miss it. Two loose reds is all he's
going to need. 30. 31. 38. 46. Matt Selt, 46. Two snookers required. Ding playing on. That was a
connection. Very good. 1. Yeah, great putt. Excellent putt. 6. 13. 14. Well, you saw where
he wanted to be on the black. And the problem is with the pink, it's hard to get to another red
from it. He's found one though, to the right corner. 21. Still a delicate shot this though,
but having done it. 29. Now the confidence is coming back. Yeah, very much so, because
the two frames he lost from 3-2 up, he could very easily have won. In fact, he'll feel he should have
won. It's impressive. And Ding now suddenly is on the back foot again, for the time being at least.
43. 44. He could decide to just flick into them. 51. 52. Well, what a treat the crowd have had
this week. Watching some brilliant snooker. First half century. Ding having made 97, 60 and 90
on his way to winning four in a row. But this frame not done, and he split the reds open.
It's a pretty inviting table, so Salt needs to exercise some care here, and get some balls
awkward. Oh, he thought it was in. He was on his way round. Wow. It looked in, didn't it? Look at
this. How close was that? It was off. It was coming round, and then, oh, hasn't dropped. And
what a difference that could have made, had it dropped. Eight. Look at this. How significant
is that going to be? Just one snooker, isn't it? I'm sure it'll be okay, but you just never know.
He can afford to take a pink. Nine. A little fortunate he didn't play that,
but it's still one snooker. 15. Thank you. 23. Okay, he can afford to take a pink,
playing the safety.
Five frames to four. Now, with the momentum, 5-4 up. What a match this has been. Talk about seesaw.
Salt led 3-0. Ding led 4-3, and now Salt is one away at 5-4. This one, he absolutely thumped it,
and he thought he potted one in the previous frame, which could have made a big difference,
and it just stayed out, but what a pot that was. They enjoyed that one, didn't they?
Great pot. Nothing you can do about somebody knocking one of those in.
Six. Behind the red as well. Looks like he may have to play up for the blue. Seven. Well,
that must be among the best long pots of the week that Ding has just thumped in.
Thirteen. He's still got reds he could play for, but it's a good opportunity to go into them.
He's not messing, is he, in this break? Twenty-five. The red to the right of the pink
could be a good ball to play for. That would release the pink to the left corner.
Thirty. Decided against it. Maybe this time. Thirty-six. Now, does the pink go to the left
corner? Even if it doesn't, he can get the right side of the blue and then play a little cannon
into them. Although it's gone a little far, that. Just a little bit too much adrenaline there.
Looks like he's come a little far. Thirty-nine. Unless he's spied a plant there. And this time,
a lot better position on the blue. Doesn't have to go into the reds, and the reds will go.
He could play the cannon to the red next to the black. Forty-five. Develop the black,
but does he want to? He's got a good lead. Well, that could be the frame winner.
Just needs to drop it in. Fifty-four. Sixty-one. Sixty-two.
He's won the tournament in one visit, and what a visit it's been. He got in with a fantastic red.
The first three frames were pretty scrappy. Of course, we had the re-spotted black in the third.
All of them going to Matt Selt, then Ding Junhui took over. Selt responded impressively to losing
four and a bounce. Seventy-six. To go one in front with two to play, but we are indeed going the
distance. As we did previously, the last time they played. Seventy-seven. And Ding will hope
for a similar result. Is it going to be his first century of this match? Eighty-four.
Magnificent break of eighty-four. Five frames all. Who is going to be smiling at the end of
this game and flying to the title and a hundred thousand pounds first prize tomorrow?
He puts his cue down. He's fearing the worst. The black not available. He could come down
for that red next to the pink. That's one option. The two reds above the black. Another option.
Now if he can get nicely onto the blue. Three. To come down for those reds surrounding the black.
Four. That looks okay. May have to bounce off the black cushion. He's under-hit it.
Unless the pink goes, just slightly, he's missed it. Ding Junhui, ten. Just pressure.
That was just pressure. It wasn't ideally on the pink. One. The pink will go to the other corner.
I can remember talking to him at world championship qualifying in 2020.
And he was even toying with the idea of retirement at that stage. Definitely couldn't see him
retiring as good as he is. Eight. Thirteen. Fourteen. Twenty-one. Still, he could play for the loose red
to the right of the black. That would free the black into that pocket then.
A bit of luck. Twenty-six. Well, that's not too bad. Another decision to make. Does he go into them?
He can play down for that red next to the black. And that's what he's played for. But will he get
a better chance to go into them? Open the reds up. Thirty-three. Well, that's a nice angle.
That's a nice angle to go into them. Potting the black. Opening the reds. If he gets on one,
he could be in the final. Pot the black first. And he's seen the black. Oh my goodness me.
What a result he has had there. Wow. He's missed the black. He's missed the pack. The blacks then
hit the pack. Opened up the reds for Ding. Well, at least he can see the funny side.
Twice across the table into the pack of reds. Looks favourite. I think he's going anywhere
near enough side on the cue ball. That was poor. One good long pot from Matt Selt. That's what he
That was an absolute belter. Well, it's nicely on the blue. Ding thinking if he's going to get
another chance. Balls are all open now. Matt Selt. Six. That looks a good safety. I don't
think he can see the easy red. No, no problem. Ding Junhui has got to play a good safety.
And that looks pretty good. He could see it. This is absolute fractions. He could only just
get past the red. Matt Selt. One. Not risking the pot. Well, he could get the spider out
and play into the balk area down at the red. He's seen something different. He's seen something
different. So unfortunate. A chance for Matt Selt. Is it Matt Selt's mercy? It looks good.
It looks very good. Six in it. Seven. He looks a little heavy. That's just not where he wants
to be, I'm afraid. A little straighter on the blue would have been nice. Needs another red
off this blue. More red needed. In the Turkish Masters final, this is surely the biggest moment
of his career to date. A chance to play for the inaugural title. Ding Junhui offers his hand.
He's obviously disappointed because he's played some great stuff this week. But Matt Selt is the
man of the moment. Congratulations to him. He's into the biggest final of his career with a chance
to play for a hundred thousand pounds and points. He has beaten Ding Junhui in an absolute thriller
by six frames to five.
