According to an article published on the Airbus website on February 24, 2022, Airbus and the European Joint Armaments Cooperation Organization have signed a contract to develop the European Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) program.Airbus represents three subcontractors - Airbus Spain, Dassault Aviation of France and Leonar of Italy, while the United Armaments Cooperation in Europe represents the four first user countries - Germany, France, Italy and Spain.Under the contract, Airbus will deliver the first batch of 20 UAVs, each consisting of three reconnaissance uAVs and two control stations -- four in France, seven in Germany, five in Italy and four in Spain -- and provide technical support for five years.
A full-scale mock-up revealed at the 2018 Berlin Air Show shows the Eurodrone to be slightly larger than General Atomics Aviation Systems' MQ-9 Reaper.The model on display is equipped with photoelectric/infrared sensors.Although primarily used as an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance tool, there is an option to arm it.

報道介紹，在2018年柏林航展上披露的一個全尺寸模型顯示，“歐洲無人機”比通用原子-航空系統公司的MQ-9“死神”略大。展示的模型配備了光電/紅外傳感器。儘管主要用作情報、監視和偵察的工具，但也可以選擇將其武裝起來。
