Welcome back to my channel and another video. If you're new,
my name is Sarah. I'm a vegan certified holistic
nutritionist and I post videos all about how to live a happy
and healthy vegan lifestyle. So make sure you subscribe down
below for new videos every single week. So as you can see
today, we're in the kitchen and I'm gonna show you how to make
a pumpkin spice smoothie. Now, normally, I try to wait until
October for pumpkin stuff, but like 2020 has been hard on all
of us, right? So why wait any longer for pumpkin recipes? So
today we're gonna make a really simple, super thick and rich and
creamy sweet spiced pumpkin spice smoothie. All you need is
six really healthy ingredients. It is super creamy and rich.
Like I said, it almost reminds me more of like a milkshake
than a smoothie. It's the best way to start any fall day. So
I'm gonna walk you through this whole recipe with the full blog
post with all the amounts and ingredients and all the details
for this smoothie will be linked down in the description.
Okay, so to start off, I just have some unsweetened almond
milk in my blender. Any other unsweetened non-dairy milk would
work just as well. I was thinking oat milk would probably
make this like even thicker and amazing, but I just go with
almond milk. Then once you got your liquid in the blender, you
will need one frozen banana. I always freeze these whole
rather than chopped up into pieces just so that I know I
have roughly one when I put them in a smoothie. So I'm just
gonna break this up and add it to the blender. Next, of course,
is the star of the show. We need some pumpkin puree. Make
sure the only ingredient is pumpkin. You don't want the
pumpkin pie filling with a bunch of junk added to it.
Obviously, this is gonna add tons of creaminess as well as
tons of vitamins, a ton of vitamin A, and of course, gonna
bring out the pumpkin vibes and the pumpkin spice flavor. Okay,
then next up, I just have some ground flax seed as well as some
protein powder in this bowl. I always use complement protein
powder. It is the highest quality vegan protein you will
find and all of my info for you guys to get a discount code
when you order it is linked down in the description. I love
complement because they don't add anything weird. No
sweeteners, no gums, no heavy metals. They're third-party
tested. All the good things. It's made with five real food
ingredients. So, if you wanna check it out, definitely order
using the link in the description box and my discount
code so you can get a deal. But I add the flax seed just for
all the nutritional benefits. Omega-3s, tons of anti-cancer
compounds in there. So, just super nutrient-dense and then
the protein is just gonna make the smoothie more satiating so
you'll be fuller for longer and it also helps thicken it up a
bit. Then last but not least, arguably the most important
ingredient of all because you can put a ton of pumpkin into
something and you won't taste anything at all really until
you add the pumpkin spice. As you can see, I'm running low
because I've already been making a lot of pumpkin goodies
this year but this is of course just gonna bring all that
really nice spiced, powerful, strong fall flavor. I go pretty
heavy-handed with this just so that I taste mostly pumpkin
spice rather than like pumpkin spice and banana but
definitely do it according to your taste. So, that's it for
the ingredients. Now, you could add one or two pitted dates to
this just for extra sweetness. If you are someone who is
trying to transition away from some of the processed like
super sugary foods, you may need a little more sweetness in
yours versus someone like me who is very used to eating no
added sugars. This is definitely sweet enough for me.
So, it totally just depends on your taste. If you wanna add a
couple of dates in there, they would taste amazing. They have
really like caramel-like sweetness which goes great with
pumpkin spice. So, again, totally up to you but feel free
to add a few dates if you want it a little bit sweeter. But
that is it for all the ingredients. So, we're just
gonna blend.
Alright guys and that is it. So, here's my six ingredients.
Super simple and healthy vegan pumpkin spice smoothie. I also
added just a little bit more pumpkin spice on the top and it
is gonna be so good. It's like the perfect transition, you
know, from the warmer weather cuz it's still cool but it's
not like freezing like most smoothies because the pumpkin
puree isn't frozen. It's so so good. It's seriously like a
milkshake. So good. Perfectly spiced and just feels so right
for fall. So, that's gonna do it for this smoothie recipe. I
hope you guys enjoyed it. If you do try this, seriously, let me
know in the comments below. I'd love to hear what you think. If
you enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up and if you
have any pumpkin recipe requests, let me know in the
comments below. I will tell you though, I do have no bake
pumpkin spice energy bites coming. I also have five
ingredient pumpkin bread. I have pumpkin bars with cream
cheese frosting and pumpkin spice cheesecakes coming
eventually. So, those are all already done or on my list but
if you have anything else that you want to see that's related
to pumpkin, definitely let me know in the comments. I love
making recipes based on what you guys request. Okay, I'm
gonna go enjoy this and I hope you guys have an amazing rest
of your day. Give this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it.
That really helps me out. Thanks so much for watching and
I'll see you in the next video. Bye.
