Dragon Balls. Brewing them doesn't have to be particularly difficult. If this is your
first time, or you find them a bit tough to open up, then following these simple steps
might help. Let's get into it.
Alright, we've got our teaware. You can use a gaiwan or a teapot, whatever you prefer.
Most dragon balls are about 7-8 grams, so a 100-120ml sized vessel will give you an
optimal tea to water ratio.
The first step will be to warm up your teaware. What you can see is happening right now. This
is optional, as you could just start brewing if you want to. Your choice. We like to warm
things up.
Of course, you need to pick your tea. Make sure it's something good. Good choice.
The ball is disrobed and ready to go.
Now let's use that water we used to heat up the gaiwan for the rinse. You can use fresh
water too, but sometimes it's nice to use slightly cooled water for the early steeps
of young pour.
Let's steep that for about 30 seconds or so. And pour.
Since the rinse is going to be pretty light, we can go ahead and dispose of that. Maybe
give your teapot a drink. It deserves it.
You can also give your dragon ball a bit of a break between brews. The process of heating
up and cooling down will help the tea expand and contract, loosening it naturally.
Alright, enough science. We're on to the first real brew, so let's focus.
We'll let that brew for about 15 seconds, give or take. It might still be a bit light,
but the next few brews are likely to be full flavoured.
That looks pretty good to me though.
From this point on, we'll just keep brewing as normal.
That's some impressive spin on that ball.
But yeah, by the second brew, you can do maybe 10 seconds, then adding 5 seconds each brew
after.
Or just go by feeling. That's what we like to do.
Now all that's left is to enjoy your tea. The best part.
