sorry thank you Mr Speaker Mr Speaker I
was not going to talk about this to be
honest with you because it
hurts it hurts to bring my story up but
I'm gonna because maybe it can just
change a few Minds in here maybe it'll
change your mind Mr speaker now I'm
pretty much for family rights I believe
in the Constitution and I do but Mr
Speaker growing up my mother continually
left us
alone in fact Mr Speaker I was about 10
years old when I smelled marijuana for
the first time it was when my
brother my brother and his friends were
smoking in the house
marijuana my little sister was there we
went out for a walk because I needed a
protector Mr Speaker my mom couldn't sit
still about every six days eight months
we would move she'd pick up the whole
family and off we'd
go as we got a little older she decided
that my brother turned 12 he was old
enough to leave be in charge as she went
CrossCountry
Trucking she gave him money to buy food
for us which he bought drugs with to
share with his
friends we would after the neighbors
would finally catch on or the school
scho teachers would realize the only
meal we were getting is at
school so the police would come pick us
up and take us foster
care but my mom was presumed to be a
good
parent so we were given back and off to
the next town we went where she did it
again and did it again and again and
again Mr Speaker there's days when you
can't presume there's good parents and
when these kids are ding fentel we've
got to step in we've got to speak for
the children the ones who can't speak
for themselves don't make them grow up
like I did please vote Yes for this
amendment
