hey what's happening to Paul I'm here
with College Center I got my man John
here today he's our chapter leader out
in Seattle Washington and we got the
double sticks and what I want to make
sure that I'm showing you guys today is
how to make sure that you're doing your
heaven six correctly because I see a lot
of people just kind of not quite getting
it so we're gonna clean it up today now
when it comes to the heaven six you see
a lot of people working it like this
which isn't too bad but it could be
better and you're gonna notice how I'm
swinging this number one strike all the
way through and it's turning my body
here and by the time you start swinging
this back end right here there's nothing
here there's no leverage there's really
no strike so if I'm doing that and I go
to strike like this look at look at
John's structure versus my structure no
good he's going to be winning this every
single time so what we want to do to get
that structure on the bottom hand to
come out is we want to strike what's
called a v strike right here so I'm
going to strike my one and then gonna
pull it back it's like I'm making a V
with my stick boom this allows me to
turn the hip and get that bottom hand
out with a lot more leverage so now when
we strike one two look at this now we
can really get that thing out as opposed
to me doing it the incorrect way John
doing it the correct way there's no way
I can get that bottom hand out with the
proper amount of Leverage in time look
at look at the tip of his stick it's
already on my side he's winning this
he's going to crack me right in the head
so first adjustment is make sure that
you're striking that V strike on your
angle once okay that's the first one now
once we start moving this with a partner
to develop the coordination of the
strikes you're not going to fight with
it this way this is a coronation drill
to develop the mechanics when we have
this a lot of times people are going to
start off striking that three count
which you're gonna go one two three
pause
one two three pause nothing wrong with
that in the beginning when you're first
learning the heaven six but you want to
make sure that you are developing the
six count Rhythm where you're getting
the one two three four five six okay
then you can pause but eventually you
even want to take that restart pause out
one two three four five six and keep it
going here
so V strike
make sure you're working that in
so you get all those strikes projecting
forward towards your opponent with
leverage with power and work the six
ounce
so one two three four five six six one
two three four five six
don't give that a go it's gonna clean up
your heaven six which is a pretty
standard Cinna Wally double stick drill
that you need to know if you're training
in Kali in Filipino martial arts is
