Welcome to our next adventure.
There are so many places to see and things to do in our beautiful world.
You can travel from deserts to oceans, to the heat of the tropics or the cold of the
polar regions.
Each area has its own uniqueness.
So today we're heading to the chilly and thrilling Arctic, where we'll meet some of the most
incredible animals on the planet.
So bundle up, because we're going on an Arctic expedition you won't want to miss.
First up, it's the king of the Arctic, the polar bear.
These big fluffy bears are specially built for life in the cold.
Their thick fur and blubber keep them warm and they're excellent swimmers too.
Polar bears love to hunt for seals, their favourite food.
Look at these foxy fellows.
Arctic foxes are masters of survival in the snow.
They have thick white fur in winter and grey-brown fur in summer.
They're amazing diggers and hunt for small rodents like lemmings.
Arctic foxes can even withstand super cold temperatures.
Arctic terns have one of the longest migrations of any bird species, flying from the Arctic
to the Antarctic and back.
They feed on fish and invertebrates in Arctic waters.
Walruses are marine mammals that inhabit Arctic waters and are known for their tusks, which
are used for various purposes, including climbing onto ice flows and for defence.
Snowy owls are known for their striking, predominantly white plumage, which provides excellent camouflage
in the snowy Arctic environment.
These large white owls are well adapted to Arctic conditions and prey on lemmings and
other small mammals.
Let's dive beneath the icy waters to meet the beluga whales.
They're known as canaries of the sea because of their melodic songs.
Belugas are social and friendly, with their bright white skin making them stand out in
the icy blue ocean.
It's time to meet the super cute harp seals.
These pups are born on the ice and are covered in fluffy white fur.
They're excellent swimmers and can hold their breath for up to 15 minutes.
Harp seals are great examples of Arctic animals built for both land and water.
Wow, what an awesome Arctic adventure we've had today.
From polar bears to penguins, Arctic foxes to beluga whales and harp seals, the Arctic
is home to some incredible animals.
I hope you had a blast learning about them.
