Thunder 107, Miami Heat 100: Alex and Ethan take five

hey it's Ethan SK lake with Alex too here at Rock Esports Center just finished a 2K tournament and a watch party looked good in the first half not so good in the second half for the Miami Heat they lose 107 to 100 against Oklahoma City two straight losses over the past two nights on a two- game trip they come home to play Washington on Sunday that should be a little bit easier but actually very similar story Alex to the game in Dallas a great first quarter offensively ball was moving and then they were struggling to get to 100 points at the end of the game but I know what everybody's going to focus on here bam outo is struggling uh that's two straight bad games for bam tonight only one field goal made and on a night that they don't have Kevin Love and had to use ni colovic as the backup center you can't have that kind of performance from bam he looked tentative um he did some rebounding tonight Al the rest of the team did not but offensively uh he's in his head right now it looks like now no doubt and I think um mentioned that it's really similar to what happened last night and I couldn't agree more with the first quarter burst and then you had the third quarter Avalanche from the other team and that's kind of where everything broke open again just like last night and I thought the difference between tonight and last night is that I felt you know just from my perspective that I didn't feel good about their chances in the fourth quarter where I felt that Mavs game was a lot more winnable I think the Thunder like by the end the heat looked gas they looked like they were out of answers and Shay was just taking turns picking guys to you know guard him he would get Heat players to come and and you know he would pick up the guy who is guarding you know one of the heat smaller players have him come screen for him and boom mismatch mismatch and it was over like like they really couldn't find an answer they kept trying to send to you know they had Isaiah Joe getting going that way they had Jaylen Williams attacking close outs that way and on the other side I think part of what happened that it ended up so similar and why I think you get two straight bad really bad bad games and and to me like Jimmy was a lot I mean better than last night but I didn't think it was that great of a game for him either and I think it has to do with the way that these teams are guarding them and it's not the first time we brought this up and we brought it up last night as well but I do think that is going to be the game plan going forward for the heat you pack the paint you jam the middle especially on the Jimmy B pick and roll like that is not going anywhere and they look really tough I mean they look really uncomfortable when those short mid-range shots are not there for them like they usually are when they're not playing in like oneon-one situation with a Creative Advantage and it's like you're forcing them to kind of you know get out of their comfort zone a little bit and I do think the owners is going to be on the heat to find a counter I don't think they found it yet you know shout out to Patty Mills for kind of keeping them in that game with a quick 11-point burst right nobody expected that yich at the five The Zone all that stuff was cool right just like don't play Orlando and Thomas get another guy out there all that was fine but like if your best players just you know you can't get consistent offense out of them I I just you know I think that is how you beat the heat well you mentioned it I mean that 35 pick and roll that they're running it looks like they're running in an airplane L like there there is no space for either of them to operate you mentioned Patty Mills makes boo yeah exactly makes his heat debut we actually kind of like this room back at Rock eorts Center uh they you know Patty Mills with 13 points tonight in his heat debut I was I was a little surprised knows a lot right to try to slow down uh Shay Shay with 37 tonight he's kind of aable at this point and like you mentioned they put everybody on him I do want to mention haime hakz though cuz I thought this was I think this was actually his best game since I know people are going to point to the game that Jimmy missed in Sacramento and heimi took over but he played well with Jimmy tonight which is not something that's always happened and he was aggressive he went to the basket but it's just you know what's crazy about this Heat team right now is it seems like there's a guy who gets his confidence sort of beaten up and then gets it back and then somebody else is in his own head right and so now haime is back on track and Caleb is back on track for the most part even though he wasn't great tonight and now bam is lost and and it it well we stopped talking about Tyler hero for a little bit I guess that's the one positive but the Mi he lose both games on this trip against West teams that likely will be in the playoffs uh in OKC's case they may end up the number one seed got to get back on track against Washington got a lot of home games coming up uh but again they got to figure out that offense when things start to bog down they had a 17 nothing run today we can talk about what Oklahoma City did on offensively but Miami went 6 minutes without a field goal that was the big problem that's where the game was lost today Ethan skolnick with Alo here at Rock e Sports Center check it out mention five reasons when you come down here you get $5 off the play all day so just mention five or five reasons have good day everybody
