I guess that's right, back target, that's right.
People deluded, I'm back again.
Come on Ian.
As the big man Ian Wright just said there, people deluded, I'm back again.
I know you're pressed for time, so we're going to whizz through this.
What were you saying?
I'm good, man. I'm good.
You picked up another three points, man. I'm good, man.
I can't believe I'm seeing you smile, lad.
I can't believe it, man.
Is this what Mikel Arteta's doing?
But yeah, man, last time we did this, we did content.
It's been a while, innit?
There's been several games, several ups and downs and things like that.
What have you made of the recent run?
No, I think we've been doing our job.
We've been doing what we need to do.
And it's nice to see not just results, but performances.
And even against Brentford, even though it wasn't the best performance,
we got the three points and that's what's the most important thing.
Because we needed to win that and then it's out of our hands
whatever happened with Liverpool and City.
We needed to just do our job.
And yeah, it's been nice, man.
Listen, we had a pressure game against Liverpool
and we rose to the occasion.
In years before, we would have bottled it.
You know what I mean?
One game, to remain in the title race or you're out,
we would have bottled it.
And it's good to see that we rose to the occasion
and I wanted us to build off of that.
And we have built off of that.
So yeah, man, praise to the players and big up to the manager, man.
He's doing good right now.
I think you're misunderstood when it comes to content.
I don't know if people see the words you say or the message
and don't actually listen, but I think you're very misunderstood.
People think you don't want Arsenal to thrive.
And one thing I respect about you, if you're wrong,
you'll say you're wrong.
People will see something you say and then you'll say
at the end of a sentence,
I'm open to being proven wrong, et cetera, et cetera.
But people don't care about that.
As you know, people don't care.
Everybody that comments on our YouTube vids, they're genius.
They knew everything.
We don't know anything.
You know how it gets.
But surely, Mikel Arteta, based on what you said,
we've been handling business.
Surely, Arteta is slowly but surely converting you, man.
What's your thoughts on the gaffer now, man?
Is he still the man for you?
Is he the man for you?
No, not really.
I'll keep it real with you, bro.
We're not doing anything that I didn't expect us to do
in the sense of we've already seen us blitzing teams last season.
True.
The thing that needs to get over the line to convince me
is actually lifting a major honour.
You know what I mean?
We were 93% of the league last season, top of the league.
Do you know what I mean?
So we've already seen that we can blitz teams.
We've seen that we can beat teams convincingly.
We've seen that we can go on a run.
We did it last season.
But that 7% is where I look at it.
And it's like, if we don't get over the line,
what's the difference from last season?
Another season where we had a good run,
we blitzed a couple of teams,
but in the end, we weren't able to get over the line.
And for me, that's the most important thing.
When people ask me,
oh, are you changing about the manager?
Talk to me at the end of the season.
I can praise on game by game.
And the last couple of games,
there's been nothing for me to really complain about,
barring the portal game.
But every question I have about this manager
is because he's never shown me.
He's never shown me getting over the line for a major honour.
He's not shown me that he's addressed the bench
because I still feel like the bench is light.
Apart from Trossard on that bench,
nobody's really convinced by that.
Cedric, our only defender against Sheffield United.
Obviously, Zinchenko came back yesterday.
But yeah, you're right about the lack of depth, man.
He does need to adjust that.
And the mentality as well.
When a lot of people come with a narrative this season
about it's better to chase than to be chased,
that is because when fans are saying that,
it's because they're conceding that.
We crumble under the pressure.
So it's better to be the underdog in the race
and then final moment, let's see if we can win the league.
But the thing is, you can't avoid pressure forever.
You will get six, seven, eight games to win the league
and pressure will mount because every game is like a final.
And that is why even the fan base have questions.
Why else would you say, oh, it's better to be the chase?
Nah, bro.
So at the end of the day,
every question I have about this manager
is because he hasn't proven me wrong.
But when he performs, when players perform,
I'll give them praise.
I don't mind.
It'd be stupid of me to complain
after us blitzing Sheffield United.
We played well.
We did well.
But now show me another side to your managerial prowess
as to how you coach us from breaking down a team like Porto.
That's where I want to see you change it up.
Not when the going's good
and we're playing scintillating football
against the last couple of opponents we had.
When the going gets tough,
I want this manager to be able to coach us out of those games.
What's the plan B?
What are the options?
Use the bench that you've either brought to this club
or have re-signed their contracts.
That's true.
Those are the things I want to see
because that is what it's going to take for us to win major honours.
But you know with this fan base,
when the going's good,
they don't want you to make these questions about Arsenal.
It's like everything is amazing.
The thing is, going into January,
a lot of people were calling for a striker.
A lot of people were saying that the bench was light.
A lot of people said that we bottled it last season.
But because I'm bringing it up while we're winning,
it's like, oh, don't say anything.
Don't say anything.
You'll be a negative.
Do you know what I'm saying?
But they said that last season
when we were eight points clear
and unfortunately, I was proven right.
The things that I was bringing up while we were winning
came back to bite us
and I don't want it to happen again this season.
But at the moment, we're playing well
and I've given praise and I've been happy.
So, yeah.
Being devil's advocate, yeah.
Obviously, you know,
it's not that I think you're living or dying by trophies.
I think you're a man that, you know,
applies context where key.
But is it as white and black for you
if May comes, there's no champs,
there's no Prem,
or Teton's got a cut
or does he get some saving grace
if we're running it down to the end of the season?
Nah, for me,
I don't really care about, you know,
if he loses it by a point or...
For me, it's still on his head
and I want him gone
because he's allowed us to not have a proper striker.
Now, people will say Kai Havertz.
Let's not forget that Kai Havertz
is playing good at the moment.
We've never seen a consistent,
proper consistent season from Kai Havertz
neither at Chelsea.
We're yet to see if he can do it for Arsenal.
A lot of games we were carrying Kai Havertz
at the start of this season
when we had Kai Havertz,
he was missing sitters.
He's never been a goal scorer,
like an out-and-out clutch goal scorer
in the box, buries every chance.
So there are questions about Kai Havertz.
He's playing well at the moment.
But like I said,
I still don't know if it's a purple patch.
And what I mean by that
is when people told me
to apologise to Nketiah
after scoring three goals
against Sheffield United,
nobody's talking about Nketiah anymore.
And I think sometimes
in this football club,
we get,
oh, but they're performing now.
Yeah, but how do you know?
We need a performance
for the whole season.
You know, I can't...
And that is why
if he stops performing,
I'm going to look at the manager
and say,
why didn't you get me an Ivan Toney
or get me a striker
that could perform for the whole season?
Why didn't you strengthen the bench?
You know what I'm saying?
Why is it that four years in the job,
you're unable to break down
a mid-block or a low block?
You know what I mean?
Why is it that those things
still arise at the club?
And for me, it's just,
you can't avoid expectation.
Whether you put the expectation
of him to win a trophy this season,
next season's going to have
that expectation of the season after.
But eventually,
he's going to have the expectation
to get over the line.
So I think people are just avoiding
the inevitable.
For me, it's just,
if he doesn't win it,
I'd say,
thank you for building a team
that can compete.
You're just not that guy
to get me over the line.
Let's go get the guy
to get us over the line.
Because we're very, very close
to being title winners.
We're very, very close.
And at the end of the day,
we've seen players
before at Arsenal
leave to go to that next level.
We've learned with success
and then, yeah,
they cut to go and do these things.
And that's why when I speak,
I speak from experience
as an experienced Arsenal fan.
I've seen this before.
Why did Van Persie leave
to win major honors?
Why did Nasri?
Why did Fabregas?
Why did all these players
leave?
Why did they leave, bro?
Because the club
wasn't getting it over the line.
So ultimately,
it's not just about,
you know,
other fans bashing fans.
Players want to win.
And when they start being
in a conversation of
Real Madrid looking at me,
PSG looking at me,
big clubs looking at me,
they want a team
that reflects their own value.
They want a team
that's going to get over the line
because their career is short.
And we've seen it
at Arsenal, bro.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Players just being like,
you know what?
I'm sick and tired
of being nearly, man.
I want to go to a club
that is ready to win now.
And that is why it's important.
If you win major honors,
you keep your best players
and you're able to attract
better players
because you're already winners.
Do you know what I mean?
So, yeah, man.
You kind of touched
on it there, yeah.
Now, I don't,
one thing I will give the club,
I don't really think
they listen to the outside noise
whether it's been good or bad.
You mentioned it there
and I just want to play
devil's advocate.
Obviously, a lot of our fans
have sat there and said,
you know what?
Chasing rather than being chased
suits us.
Do you think that has any
bearings on the players?
Do you think that's a benefit
to our players?
Where are you at with that?
What's the difference?
Apart from you probably
have a bit more pressure
earlier on.
Everyone's got 38 games,
isn't it?
Yeah, but the thing is,
it's like, bro,
they're going to have to,
if we're in the title race,
we've seen now Liverpool
and City draw.
We're now top of the league.
They've got to deal
with this pressure.
They have to deal
with this pressure.
Like you said,
there's no escaping expectation
to be fair.
That's what I'm saying, bro.
Like, it's kind of like,
are the players good enough
or they're not?
And good enough
is not just ability,
but it's also mindset.
You know what I'm saying?
Have they got the mindset
of regardless if we're third
or regardless if we're first,
you know,
with 10, 11 games to go,
have you got the mindset
to win every game
and get us over the line
even if we went ugly?
You know,
and that will prove your level
because it's not just
about ability.
There's been loads of players
over the years that have ability,
but they don't have the mindset.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Ravel Morrison at Man United.
You know what I'm saying?
That was another one.
They were all ability
but didn't have the mindset.
You know,
there's loads of players
that have ability.
A lot of them go by the wayside
because they don't have
the mindset.
we will see.
I can't really answer that.
I just think it's irrelevant.
If you're at a big club
and you're about winning
major honours,
the players should be up for it
regardless if we're
the chasing pack
or we're first in the league.
How much do you think
our mindset's changed, man?
Because yesterday,
to a degree,
you know,
we've seen previous years
where we might have drawn 1-1
with Aaron Ramsdale's mistake.
We lost and that's that,
but we got it over the line.
Do you think the mindset
has become that of title winners
or title challengers
or better yet,
has it improved
from when Arteta's walked in?
You know what?
Let's whittle it down.
I'd say from
that year we missed out
on top four to Spurs
to now,
do you think there's been
a change in that regard?
100% there's been a change.
100% Mikel Arteta
does deserve praise
for building a team
that is able to...
You hear that, people?
No sad praise, Mikel Arteta.
We're getting on the channel.
Go on.
They won't hear that
because I'm talking
by association.
You know what I mean?
Because I associate
with Lee Garner
because I don't...
You know what I mean?
Big up to my guy, Lee.
You know what I'm saying?
Because I'm cool with Lee Garner,
because I don't
just go with
what the masses are saying,
I'm just a negative fan.
But in reality,
I give praise
where praise is due.
But like I said,
the manager deserves props
for building this team
that is able to compete
to try and fight for titles.
The manager does deserve props
that the mentality
has shifted,
that we're not
as soft-bellied
as we used to be.
You know what I mean?
And I'm saying...
Yeah, because at the end
of the day,
I can't say we're completely
not soft-bellied
because let's see
how we deal with
the last five, six games
over the line.
You know,
we get that over the line
and I'll say,
okay, we're completely
not soft-bellied anymore.
He does deserve
praise for that
and he does deserve
praise for the system
that he's implemented
in the way that we're playing
and the fact that
there is that expectation
again at the club
to win major honours.
But at the same time,
all of this means nothing
if you don't get it
over the line.
None of this means nothing.
There's nothing
set in stone in history.
No Arsenal fan
rates Potts for being
a nearly-man at Tottenham.
No Arsenal fan rates
Brendan Rodgers
for being a nearly-man
at Liverpool.
None of the nearly-mans
for our rivals,
nobody rates them.
Ole getting second
with Man Utd,
Arsenal fans don't rate him
and say,
oh, you know what,
he was competing,
he put the pressure on,
he finished second one season
with Man Utd,
he's a top manager.
The only managers
that we respect really and truly
are the managers
that get over the line.
Do you know what I mean?
And even Arsene Wenger,
like, yes,
the last 10 years was crap,
but the reason he was
Arsene Wenger
was because of the three
Premier League titles,
was because of all the FA Cups.
You take that away
and nobody,
nobody puts him up there
as our greatest ever manager.
So,
this is the thing,
like, this manager
is all good
being a nearly-man,
but you have to get it
over the line,
you know,
and if people really believe
in this manager,
then the expectation
of the project should be
to get it over the line.
Because when the project
failed for Lampard at Chelsea,
he got sacked.
When the project failed
with Man United,
with Ole,
he got sacked.
The project's failing
with Ten Hag right now,
he's eventually going
to get sacked.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Now we need him to stay
in that job, bro,
he's the best manager
in the league.
But this is the thing,
sometimes what annoys me
with Arsenal fans is like,
our project needs to always
be this ongoing,
ongoing project.
Nah,
if projects don't,
if they don't
fruition into trophies,
managers get sacked
when you're in
the big clubs, bro.
And that is what it is.
Ultimately,
I couldn't care less.
I don't really care
who the manager is.
All I want is titles
and trophies for my club.
Because that's the only thing
in football that's undisputable.
And Arsenal fans always
talk about respect
and putting respect
on Arsenal.
The only way you gain
proper respect
from your rivals
and from your fans
is trophies.
People don't want
to respect Man City.
People are still talking
about the 115 charges,
but you have to respect them
because of what they've won
and what they've accomplished
in the game.
Do you know what I mean?
Man United are forced
to respect them
because of the trophies.
And that's how it works
in football.
People didn't like Chelsea.
I remember back when
you'd go in the Sun newspaper
and you'd go to the...
And you'll see Chelsea
buying Fernando Torres
50 million pounds.
People were saying,
oh, look at all this
oil money, this, this and that.
But you had to respect it
when they're winning leagues,
when they're winning
Champions Leagues.
And that is how
you get respect.
Not going online
and typing,
why doesn't people
believe in the project?
Nah, bro.
Once the project
starts bringing trophies,
that is when it's respected.
Pep came into the league.
People were dismissing Pep,
saying, oh, we could
do it in Barca,
you could do it in Bayern.
He didn't respect him
until he won a Premier League.
That's when he started
getting respect.
Do you know what I'm saying?
People were saying,
oh, could he win the league
without a strike up?
People were disrespecting him.
As soon as he won
those trophies, boom.
The respect was...
It was forced, bro.
You had no option.
You had no choice
but to **** with him, yeah.
I think you're
banging on the money there, man.
And I think, again,
I agree with a lot
of what you say.
I think that's where
you're misunderstood.
I think I've got love
for what Mikel Arteta has done,
what he's assembled.
Up until this point,
how it was when he
walked in the door.
But I do agree with you
in that, you know,
I'm a bit...
I cut him a bit more
excuses than you,
but I do agree with you
in the sense of
one love for the rebuild.
Now it's shifting to
can you deliver a trophy
whether it was last year,
this year, or next year.
And I do think people
like to have their cake
and eat it with Arteta.
Like, for me,
I rate him quite highly.
So if you don't get
things over the line,
naturally I'm going
to ask you questions.
If I didn't rate you
and you don't win a league,
et cetera, et cetera,
then there's question marks.
What have you made
of Kai Havertz, man?
Because as you said,
and I do agree,
the jury is still out,
but he's playing out
of his skin right now.
No one cares about
the 65 million.
Where do you see...
Do you still think...
Do you think potentially
he's in Arsenal's
strongest lineup?
Do you think he's a striker
or a centre mid?
Where are you at with Kai, man?
This guy's a unique case, man.
I don't really like the player.
I don't like players
that are not
technically gifted.
I don't like players
that only have
one tool.
Like, for example,
I like people...
I like players that
have different tools
in their box.
You know what I'm saying?
Players that can do
different things.
And I think Kai
is somebody that,
if he doesn't score you a goal,
doesn't really offer you much.
And people are telling me about,
oh, but look at Kai Havertz's
movement in the box.
But at the same time,
Kai's getting that movement
in the box
in the same time
that we're playing
Declan Rice as a box-to-box,
also running in the box
and giving a defender
something to think about.
So it's kind of odd as well.
Do you know what I'm saying?
So it's not just Kai
making those spaces
and making those runs.
It's also Rice.
So if a defender is...
If a defender is
on Kai Havertz,
Declan Rice is also
helping him with those
late runs in the box
because he doesn't know
whether to stay with Havertz
or go to Rice.
He's now got two players
that he needs to mark.
You're fucked either way.
Do you get what I'm saying?
So it's not...
I think people...
Yeah, it's cool.
Kai Havertz is playing
a lot better.
He's not getting barged
off the ball.
He does look like he's
more involved
in our build-up play.
These are things that
I've been on him about
and I didn't like
about his game.
But this whole thing
about Kai Havertz
is now this amazing player.
I still don't see it, bro,
because I still
see him in games
missing chances.
Now, players do miss chances,
but when your main attribute
is scoring me goals,
I'm expecting a lot of goals.
For example,
Aubameyang only
offered us goals,
but he offered us so many goals
that you could excuse
everything else.
You didn't really care
about the general play, yeah.
Do you get what I'm saying?
So it's like,
if all you're really
offering me...
People are telling me,
oh, Kai Havertz's
movement off the ball.
I'm thinking, bro,
it's not that amazing.
Like, it's decent
and he's looking a lot
decent and people
are comparing him
to how bad he was
at the start of the season.
But I think it's a little bit
of a recency bias.
Even some fans are saying,
oh, you know,
I don't even want
Jesus anymore.
He's not good.
We've got Havertz.
Yeah, that one there's crazy.
I think it's crazy, bro.
It's the same thing
that they said
once we had Zinchenko.
Oh, we don't need
Tierney anymore.
Really?
Really.
Because Tierney's still
the better defender
than Zinchenko.
And we're looking
more solid without
Zinchenko in the game.
Do you know what I'm saying?
With Zinchenko
out front,
look stronger.
And I think there's a lot
of this recency bias
that it's like,
oh, because we've got
the new toy,
the old one's just rubbish.
And sometimes I don't agree.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Because people wasn't saying
before we got Havertz,
people didn't tell me
that the upgrade
on Havertz and Jesus
is Havertz.
No one told me that.
Do you know what I'm saying?
So let's not go on like
he's that guy.
Like really and truly,
if Jesus doesn't score a goal,
he offers me a lot more
than Havertz does.
And we don't yet know
if this is a purple patch.
And I say that because
I'm referring back to
players like
Reece Nelson
having the odd game
or ESR having
the odd good game
or Nketiah
having the odd good game.
But then the stretch
of the whole season,
you don't see them
putting performances
week in, week out.
You see purple patches.
And I've not seen anything
from Havertz
to indicate that
he's going to be able
to sustain this run.
He's doing very,
very well.
But to me,
he's always been
a very inconsistent player.
So until I see proper consistency
to the end of the season,
then I could say,
OK, fine,
I've seen a whole season.
You know what?
Maybe I change my mind.
I don't mind
changing my mind.
But I need to see,
I need to pause
a bigger sample size
of a player.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Before I start saying
that,
you know what I mean?
Before men start taking it,
you know how these men
get,
these internet warriors,
bro.
You know what I'm saying?
No,
it's the facts, bro.
But people are telling me,
yeah,
that he's performed
in the last three,
four,
yeah,
in the last four games,
yeah.
What about the other
23,
24 games before that?
That's fair.
Do you know what I'm saying?
So we only start the clock
once he performs.
What about the games
that he was missing cities?
What about the games
that he was one-on-one
with the goalkeeper
and he was literally,
like,
it was harder to miss
than to score
and he didn't score?
Like,
this is what I'm saying
about recency bias.
Oh,
we just forget that.
We forget that the player
has the ability to miss,
to miss chances.
Even against Brentford,
Jorginho gives it to him
on a plate,
long ball over the top.
All Kai Havertz needs to do
is bring it down
and he's one-on-one
with the goalkeeper,
score,
he misses.
He doesn't even control the ball
to even get the shot on.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Those are the fine margins, bro,
especially against teams
like Porto
where we're not gonna get
a lot of chances.
They're gonna sit back
through the dark arts.
We need a striker
that's gonna bang chances
which is why
when we had about,
what,
30 shots at Togo
against...
Against West Ham,
yeah,
I knew you was gonna
mention that again.
People were talking about
we need a striker.
Why?
Because you need somebody
that's gonna be clutch
even if they get a half a chance.
Ball in the back of the net.
But,
you know what I'm saying?
Like I said with this fan base,
man,
because the going's good,
they don't want to mention that.
You're negative
if you mention that.
But,
it is what it is.
It was popular to mention it
before January transfer window.
Now,
you can't mention it
because we're on a good run.
You're bang on the money, man.
I think Kai Havertz,
I'm not gonna lie,
like yourself,
wasn't convinced.
I'm more trusted
in Mikel Arteta signing
than Kai Havertz
themself.
I still think the jury's out.
He's doing his thing.
Long may it continue.
I don't know.
I think right now
you look better as a striker
than in central midfield.
As you said,
in terms of build up play,
I don't really want to see that
from Kai Havertz.
So,
shout out to the manager
for finding a player's limitations
and enhancing what he's good at.
Long may it continue.
Would you,
before I get on to,
you know,
obviously,
you know,
you're Portuguese.
I want to ask you about
that sporting lad,
Corquerez.
I want to ask you about Porto.
But just before that,
yeah,
before we get into those
last two questions,
Ramsdale made another mistake,
man.
What do you make of that mistake
beyond the obvious?
And what do you have that
mistake down to?
Is it psychological?
Is it a lack of game time?
Or is it just Ramsdale
being Ramsdale?
I think with the Ramsdale thing,
I'm just kind of done
with this guy
because,
really and truly,
it's like,
you made all that drama
doing like a
Ronaldo-Piers Morgan drama
about,
oh,
I'm not getting game time.
I'm not getting this and that.
And your dad was chatting.
Do you know what I'm saying?
At the start of the season,
Raya was dropping stinkers.
You had a chance to assert
yourself to be our number
one again because
Raya wasn't proving himself
at the start of the season.
Both of them distribution
out from the back
was atrocious.
Both of you were making mistakes.
It's like,
you didn't grab that opportunity.
That was an opportunity
to be number one
and bench Raya.
Because Raya,
everybody,
the jury was still out
at the start of the season.
Well,
Raya's making a mistake
one week,
Ramsdale then making
another mistake.
So,
you can blame the manager,
but when he was giving you
opportunity at the start
of the season,
you didn't grab that opportunity
by the scruff of the neck.
Then you're coming in
because Raya can't put,
can't be in the game
against Brentford.
And then you're dropping
another stinker.
And it wasn't a hospital pass.
Like the pass today
from Ake
to
the Man City goalkeeper.
That was,
yeah,
he sold Ederson down
the river there, man.
Put him in trouble.
If it was something like that,
I would put the blame
on the defender.
It wasn't.
He took a touch
and took forever
to kick it out.
Trying to do too much.
But then you want to
complain about game time.
You're literally handing
the manager
every reason not to play.
You're backing up the manager
when he,
if he says,
yep,
that's why Raya's in.
Do you get me?
So it's like,
it's all good
complaining, bro.
But when you're getting
these little golden opportunities,
you're not showing
why you should be playing.
And I,
as I said,
I feel like every player
in this team,
it shouldn't be by name.
It should be by performance.
You perform,
you play.
Do you know what I'm saying?
But you're not performing.
And on top of that,
you're not performing
when Raya's been
absolutely amazing
in our last couple of games
and we're having
an incredible defensive,
um,
the defensive
solidity at the back.
Why would we,
why would the manager say,
yeah, let me play Raya,
let me play Ramsdell
against Porto.
Let me play Ramsdell
against Man City coming up.
Why?
You've not given him
any reason to do that.
You've not put your hat
into the ring 100%.
Do you get what I'm saying?
And then when we're seeing
players like Trossard,
yeah,
let's keep it real.
Trossard has been
the most unlucky
out of our front line
because
Havoc
deserves a lot more
game time, Trossard.
You weren't amazing yesterday.
Do you get me?
When Havoc wasn't performing,
the manager shoehorned him
in the midfield.
Then Havoc's still not
performing,
shoehorned him up front.
Havoc's still not performing,
he'll come good.
Trossard didn't get that.
Trossard would perform
and in certain games
get put on the bench.
Or Trossard would drop
a stinker
and just off of one
bad performance,
he's on the bench.
And I've never seen Trossard
come out with his dad
talking about all this stuff.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Man's kept his head down
and was like,
yo, I'm going to play ball.
But Ramsdale
is just running to his dad
like, yo, yo, dad, dad, dad,
come back the team,
for what?
Do you know what I mean?
I actually think
if there's a player
that is more warranted
this season
to be a little bit upset
about game time,
it's Trossard, bro.
Because if this guy
dares drop one stinker,
he's on the bench
straight away.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Where other Martinellis
and Sackers and that,
they play week in, week out
no matter what.
Havoc's week in, week out.
Even if you don't perform,
still in the starting lineup.
Do you know what I'm saying?
So Ramsdale,
why do you feel
like you deserve
to start a game
when you don't perform
when asked to perform?
Facts.
I don't think
he can have anything
to complain about
with that, man.
And I think
when you do the talking,
that's what opens it up.
I'd say the most
disappointing thing
with Ramsdale now
is you look like
a charity case, man.
Like, obviously,
ironically,
I think it was
Brentford away
at the end of the game.
They're all hugging him
like he's a special kind of guy.
Yesterday as well,
I liked the fact
that they surrounded him
and tried to cheer him up.
But it's long now.
It's a charity case now, man.
Like, Ramsdale,
one love.
I think you can leave
with your head held high
because you weren't really
given a chance by Arsenal fans.
People said
back-to-back relegations
and you've done all right.
I don't think Raya's amazing.
I don't think Raya's been amazing.
I don't think Raya's up there
in comparison to Ramsdale.
But as you said,
right now he's better than you.
The form has been there.
We've been getting clean sheets.
A large part of that
is with Raya
so he can't complain.
Obviously, you're Portuguese.
Talk to me about Porto, man.
Where are you at, man?
Do you think
we're coming back in that?
Where are you at with it, man?
What do you expect from Porto
on Tuesday, man?
Champions League's
in the balance, broski.
Nah, listen.
We should do.
We should be beating them.
We're a better team.
Let's keep it real.
We are a better team
and we've spent
more money than them,
et cetera, et cetera.
There's every reason
we should be favourites
in this tie.
Now, the problem is
they clearly aren't naive.
The manager in the first leg said
they have to come and show us
why they're the favourites.
Yeah, and you can see
that he's set up
to nullify us
and I don't see why
he would revert from that
after getting a 1-0,
come to the Emirates
and open up.
He knows if he opens up,
we're going to blitz them.
He's not going to open up.
Do you get me?
So, we have to force their hand
for them to open up
but then we need
to break them down
and what is it
that the manager's going to do
to break them down
because I keep saying this
and all I get,
oh, you're toxic and negative,
you're this, you're that,
blah, blah, blah.
I have not seen
and I've not seen nobody tell me
what is this manager's plan
against a mid-block
or a low-block.
I don't know.
And when people reference
our latest games,
nobody's defended
and done the dark arts
the way that Porto did
in our last couple of games
in the Premier League.
None of them defended
the same way.
So, this is the problem.
The manager looked lost
in the first leg, Arteta.
He didn't trust his bench
to even just
pit back an equaliser
in a game where
everybody was dropping a stinker.
You could have done
more than just one...
Do you know what I'm saying?
So, it's like,
I personally,
I hope that we beat them.
I want us to obviously beat them.
I'm an Arsenal fan
and I hate Porto
because I'm also a Benfica fan.
But at the same time,
I can see them going and saying,
we're just going to protect our lead
and we're just going to sit back,
break us down again.
You couldn't break us down at home,
break us down now.
We're just going to sit back.
And the only time we'll open up
is if you get the equaliser
that will force our hand
to open up.
But we'll just defend the lead.
Because they're not in a rush
to get a goal.
They're not the one that's
one nil down.
They're in the driving seat.
They're in the driving seat, bro.
And it's gone their way.
One nil, they'll take that.
They probably would have
obviously took a two nil.
But they're like,
yo, we'll take that.
You're not breaking us down.
We're not opening up
because we know what Saka will do.
We know what Havertz right now
is in good form.
We know that Jorginho
and Odegaard are going to find
little pockets of space
and intricate passing.
We're not doing that.
You lot can't break us down.
And we'll just
nullify your whole momentum.
As soon as Odegaard
gets on the ball,
we'll knock him down.
As soon as Jorginho gets the ball,
we'll knock him down.
We won't even allow you
to spring a counter attack.
To spread your passing around.
You know what I'm saying?
And I've not seen anything
from this manager
to show me
that he has a plan B
in those scenarios.
I haven't.
And people say about corners,
oh, we're scoring a lot
from set pieces.
We have two,
what, we have two corners
that landed to Havertz
in that first leg
and he didn't score any of them.
Do you know what I mean?
And even against Brentford,
we had a couple of corners.
The first half,
the second half,
the first 15 minutes,
we had just
corner after corner
after corner.
We didn't score any of them.
So it's like
we're not going to consistently
score from set pieces.
So then what's the answer
if we don't score
from set pieces?
And that is something
that this manager
needs to answer.
And that's what I'm saying.
So for me,
we should be beating him
but I can see us
going out to Porter.
I can see it.
By God's grace,
that's not the case, man.
But they're in the driver's seat
and it's a weird one.
It's like if we start
how we did,
as you referred to
in our recent games,
then we stand a chance.
But we've seen
this kind of story before
in that we start well,
we do our thing,
they're low blocks,
they have one chance
and they take it.
Obviously, you being
a Benfica fan,
you obviously watching
the Portuguese league.
We've been,
I can't pronounce his name
but the sporting lad,
Victor Goya-Queires
or whatever,
he's been linked with us.
Have you watched him?
Do you rate him?
Where are you at, man?
That would be my last question, man.
He's been linked with us.
He's the guy
ahead of Ottoni,
and Osserman,
and Vlahovic
and all these other dudes.
Diokoros,
I don't think he's worth
the money that they want.
They're not going to give it,
they're not going to sell
for peanuts.
Portuguese teams,
they only make money
by selling at premiums.
You know,
Bruno Fernandes
sold for a premium.
Diaz as well.
Ruben Diaz,
all these players
sold at a premium.
Renato Sanchez,
Joao Felix,
all of these are premium
because that's how
they make their money.
And the fact as well
is that the powers
with the club
because there's
a lack of quality
of strikers.
So because there's
a lack of quality,
you already know
when there's
high demand
and there's not enough
in the market,
the value goes up, bro.
Do you know what I'm saying?
The value goes up
and they're going to
look at it and think,
well,
look how much Benfica
sold Darwin Nunes
to Liverpool.
You know,
certain games...
Even that, yeah,
that's another one.
We're not selling
for less than 100 mil.
You know what I mean?
We know the Premier League
teams have got it,
so we're not selling
for less than 100 mil.
And for me,
I saw him in the game
against Benfica
where Sporting
completely dominated Benfica.
He should have at least
had a hat-trick.
He scored one goal
and he's not very fast.
Technically, he's decent.
He's not a gunman though
and that is what I wanted.
I don't think
we need options.
We don't lack options.
We can play Havertz.
We can play Jesus.
We can play
Trossard through the middle.
We've got options.
Now what we need
is quality in options
and we need somebody
that's a gunman.
He scored about 18 goals
now so far
in the Portuguese league.
Is that going to be
going to convert
to the Premier League?
I don't really think so.
The exchange rate
might be spooky, man.
Do you get what I'm saying?
And the thing is,
we need to win now.
We've seen how long
it took Darwin Nunes
to adjust.
Slubbersly,
another type of player
that come from another league,
how long it's taken him
to adjust.
We've seen loads of players
that come to the league
and it takes them a while
to adjust.
So, I mean,
we brought Fabi Vieira
from Porto.
It's still taking time
for him to adjust.
So this is the thing.
I feel like every player
is a risk.
Of course, every player
is a risk.
We've seen Shevchenko
come to the league
and flop.
A man who's
balling abroad.
You know what I'm saying?
So it's like,
we've seen Falcao
come to the league.
Big reputation.
Not live up to it.
So we've seen big players
come to the Premier League
and not live up to it.
For me,
I just feel like
he's not a gunman.
And I don't think
it's worth spending
£100 million
on a player
that can't at least
guarantee me
pushing 20 goals
or more.
I agree with that.
If you're not getting
20 league goals
in the Premier League,
I don't really want to hear it.
I don't know who
that guy would be,
but I think that's where
we need it, man.
I do think some of us
Arsenal fans
are getting a bit clouded
with the recent form
and what we're doing.
And as you said,
you've just got to look
back to December
when we needed balls
in the back of the net,
it wasn't there.
And it feels like
Arsenal fans
or football fans,
things are white and black.
For me, yes,
we can score goals.
Goals are spread
all over the side.
But we need that striker.
There's no way around it
unless you do the City thing
as you said earlier
where City are an anomaly.
And they're still brought
in Harlem.
So it's a techie one, man.
I just wanted to get
your thoughts on
the Gokyere as you,
because the more I look at him,
the more I'm converted by him.
But I don't have
an informed opinion
to be talking about him
and he's not my first choice.
But it's just a thing
where the more I look at him,
I like the look of him.
But, pause,
but it is what it is.
Northside, obviously,
I know you've got to go
do your watch along,
so I ain't going to take up
too much of your time.
Thank you for doing this.
Obviously, let people know
they can find you
and all of that jazz, my bro.
Yeah, man.
Big up.
Love for having me on.
Northside LDN on YouTube.
Yeah, the house of toxic
and negative.
So come along.
If you want that,
you know what I'm saying.
No, man, you've got to
just have fun with it, man.
I really just,
the thing is,
I really just don't care.
I don't really,
listen, I just say
my own opinion, innit?
And that is what it is.
And I think these days
on the internet,
a lot of people don't like
individuals that have
their own opinion.
Yeah, you've got to be a sheep.
You've got to try
and do the PR ting.
Yeah, so it's one of them ones, bro.
Like, at the end of the day,
Northside LDN,
we don't just get guests
on that agree with me.
I actually prefer the guests
that disagree with me.
I like those debates.
I like those kind of conversations
because as a viewer,
when I watch Arsenal content,
I like opposing views.
I like that.
I like the debates
and I like the fact that
you can only,
sometimes the other opinion,
the other side of the spectrum
sometimes have points
that you may agree with.
You might not agree with
every single point,
but there are points
that is made
that you can agree with.
So, that's why I like it, man.
I find it fun
and I feel like
that's what football is about.
Even if you've got
a group of friends,
nobody thinks the same.
Do you know what I mean?
Life can be boring that way, man.
You know what I'm saying?
And I think the whole point
of this YouTube content thing
is because fans
had enough about pundits
being yes men
or being disingenuous
on these platforms.
Or forcing their opinions down,
I suppose.
And I think that's why
YouTube fan content
was created
to be raw.
Whether you agree with them or not,
you're getting
somebody's raw opinion
and I think
that's the beauty of it.
And that is what
should be celebrated.
Not people trying
to force people
to think exactly like them.
Because you can get that
on these platforms.
Sky Sports, ESPN,
all these.
They will tell you
exactly what you want to hear.
This is a different
type of content
and I think
that's what makes
YouTube special.
And what content creators
do on this special
because
you're getting
you're getting it
whether you like it or not.
You're getting a raw opinion
whether you like it or not.
And I think
that should never be lost
on this platform.
And yeah, man.
I tried to do it
on my channel.
Not everybody agrees with me
and not everybody
sees football
the way I do.
So, yeah, man.
Northside LDN
toxic and negative.
Make sure you like
and subscribe.
Make sure you like
and subscribe to
the Leaded Good as well.
Do you know what I'm saying?
Yeah, man.
Hopefully we win the league
and I'm in the mud
but I'm coming out
of the mud
with a muddy Premier League.
Please.
I want to be proven wrong.
I genuinely
want to be proven wrong.
I really want to win.
Do you know what I'm saying?
No, it's true, bro.
I haven't seen
the Premier League
and, bro,
I was 13 the last time
you won the league, bro.
Bro, I was in primary school,
my guy, bro.
That is such a long time ago, man.
It's ridiculous.
It's ridiculous
we've got a lack of pedigree.
I remember being called a glory
and you're older than me
so you probably remember it
but I remember being called
a glory hunter
for winning with Arsenal.
That has obviously
significantly changed my way
so it is what it is.
But you heard it
from the horse's mouth.
You know where to follow him.
Hopefully, you know,
people have seen
a different side of you
because as I said at the start,
I don't think
I think you get a bad rep.
I think you love it
but I think you get a bad rep.
I think when people
actually listen to you,
you'll have your opinion
but as you just said,
you'll listen to the other debates
so, yeah, people, man,
subscribe to the channels,
follow the channels,
listen to what the guy
has to say
and then make up your opinion
whether you believe in him or not.
Make sure at this moment in time
you're supporting his channel
because he does watch alongs
and all of that other stuff, man.
So, yeah,
big up yourself, my boy.
Let me let you get out of here
because you've got things to do, man.
One love for doing this, man.
Like, comment, subscribe.
Peace, folks, man.
Done, no?
Safe.
I'm actually done now.
I'm suspended.
I've been given a blow.
