Thousands of runners made their way through New York City on Sunday for the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon.
Thousands of runners making their way through the Big Apple for the New York City Half Marathon.

Well, around 25,000 participants are taking place in today's half marathon,
and many of them tell us they are super, super excited for this race.
Why wouldn't they be?
So many of them have been preparing for months, training for months for this big race.
Now, the first wave took off just after seven o'clock here at the Brooklyn Museum,
and the last wave will take off around nine twenty.
The run is hosted by New York Road Runners and is in its 16th year.
Participants take off from here at the Brooklyn Museum and will make their way
through Manhattan and Times Square before finishing in Central Park.
The entire race is 13.1 miles, and we are expecting to even see
some Olympians and Paralympians on the route today.
We spoke to some runners about how they're feeling ahead of the race.
Here's more from them.
Excited? Yeah, a little cold right now.
I'm excited for the bridges,
because like the view, like the going over the Manhattan Bridge, you know, cars.
That's what I'm excited for.
Well, here's a fun fact about this race.
It marks the only time other than New Year's Eve
that Times Square is closed to vehicle traffic.
That is the latest from the Brooklyn Museum.

I mean, how incredibly cool is that?
Right. Closing down Times Square, being able to run through the city.
We've got our own Ben Aaron and the boys.
They are celebrating Mom Ginger running this morning.
Right outside of PIX Plaza on 42nd and 2nd, where a lot of runners
are going to come by.
Ginger is a she's a daredevil.
She's a runner. She does it all.
Can you read the sign that they made for Ginger?
Mommy's got the runs.
Got the runs.
Sounds like a Ben poster.
That's the kind of Ben project.
And Ginger is running for mental health advocacy.
Oh, that's nice. She's raising funds, too.
So she's doing it for all the right reasons.
And Ben's going to burn off more energy than Ginger.
