曲子分三部分：平靜的開頭，緊接著搏動的快板，描述急躁的一幕。中間的慢板，展現琵琶優美的旋律；領奏時不時與樂隊的互動，擔任主旋律與副旋律的角色。散板獨奏後，音樂進入開頭的再現，由獨奏者急快的演奏帶領樂隊到音樂的高潮。
曲名《夜破》中的“破”其實指的是一種無言的舞蹈戲，使用舞蹈姿體語言敘說故事。琵琶獨奏者以舞蹈性地演奏帶動樂隊表現出想傳達的意境。

This work is with three parts: a tranquil beginning followed by a pulsating allegro that describes an impetuous scene. The adagio section highlights the elegant melody of the pipa. The soloist interacts with the ensemble, alternating between leading and supporting roles. Following the cadenza, the music returns to the original theme, moving towards the climax.

The word "breaking" in the title refers to the dance style that uses gestures and dance to tell stories. The pipa soloist leads with this dance-like performance to convey the composer's artistic ideas.
