In response to a recent question on a previous video, this is the Circle Walk drill I learned long ago in my past Silat training. This drill is great for strength and mobility development and leads to other essential movements.
hey what's happening it's Paul Ingram
here with Marshall flex and for today's
video I want to uh go ahead and answer
the best that I can this person's
question that they had on a previous
video of mine and I'm hoping that maybe
this is the same drill I don't know
maybe it's a little bit different but I
have uh
azy78 a few days ago asked in his
comment new sea lot starter here I will
definitely use your videos thanks
appreciate that one thing I practiced
was called a circle walk where the Palm
is in the middle and it rotates while
the slightly bent legs slide in a
circular motion while all all the while
the back side is off the floor I was
told to practice this move but I cannot
remember the way one leg goes over or
under the other are you familiar with
this and would you be able to do a clip
of this
um so the thing with c-lot is that
there's hundreds of different styles of
sea lot so by the text I'm gonna try and
do the drill that I remember visually
based on the text so we're going to come
down to the ground
and we're going to go into the Sawa
position
uh now the drill that uh I think you're
talking about it could be a different
drill so totally apologize if this does
not help you at all but you can still do
this drill because this is a great drill
for Mobility overall Mobility but also
strength strength in your core
strengthen the hips strengthen your
wrist strengthen your shoulder so it's a
good uh workout
um
plus it's a really good drill that you
can do if you're really into Mobility
practice and it's good to kind of
transition from one movement to the next
so we're going to be in the swap
position right here or sometimes this is
called the S position or 90 90 position
and then we're going to post uh right
now I'm gonna post my left hand on the
ground here so I'm facing the left
I'm going to raise up onto the side of
my feet just like this
this hand the offhand that's up this
would be like in a protective position
to protect your head
and you can have the legs straighter or
slightly bent
my right leg because my right hip is on
top will remain on top my left leg
because the hip is on the bottom will
remain on the bottom and we just walk
right over left under and as we do this
we pivot the hand
now you can go as many repetitions as
you want around but at least get 360
degrees and then we're going to switch
sides just like this get the swap
position then raise and then go the
other direction
okay and then you can switch this back
and forth
so
it's a good move because
you're learning a lot of good ground
Mobility
you can do a lot of your
ground kicks out of this you can stand
up from here
you can go into other exercises you can
go into your sempox you can go into any
other movement
from the circle walk drill
[Music]
so I'll rep this out from a few
different angles so that way you can see
it
and uh yeah
hopefully this helps you out again I
don't know if this is the same drill
that you were taught but based off the
text it sounds like it's this drill or
something very similar so maybe this at
least will help spark your memory
foreign
[Music]
helpful for uh
azy78 and anyone else that is watching
this video give this movement a try it's
a great fundamental mobility and
strength building movement from c-lot
one of the things I love about the
mobility Community when I'm watching
Mobility coaches on YouTube and on
Instagram you know I always watch these
videos and these movements I'm like
that's sea lot like it's so cool to see
how much whether they're aware that sea
lot has these same movements or not it's
just really cool to see how much
influence that the martial arts really
has in today's Fitness and today's you
know the modern day and age everybody's
doing martial arts everyone's doing sea
lot in the mobility World whether they
realize it or not and it's just a really
really cool thing to see so if you do
find this video to be helpful if you're
giving this one a go hit the thumbs up
button I could do more videos like this
if you have any other questions anyone
has questions leave me your questions
down in the comments and then maybe I
can uh do a video just like this to do a
response and uh help you out in your
daily practice make sure to subscribe to
the channel and I will see you back here
next time for our next daily practice
