The CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals have come to South Florida from Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
It's star-studded Inter-Miami and Mexican Giants Monterey in the first leg of this knockout tie.
He blows the opening whistle and we're in motion in South Florida.
This marquee Champions Cup quarterfinal between Inter-Miami and Monterey is underway.
Arteaga able to nutmeg one.
Arteaga cuts his way into the box, cuts it back to the top, still might fall.
Turn around, try, and there's Callender with a first save of the match.
Callender bails them out after excellent work by Arteaga to create this chaos.
And it was Vazquez on the turn.
Moreno, one of a couple who've played against Suarez and company in their prime.
Over the top this goes, shielded off for Callender.
Suarez was offside, now he's tagged back up.
First high ball into Gressel's path.
Julian Gressel could be in.
Forced wide, trying to clip the keeper.
It's tipped over the top.
Great save by Andrada.
Gressel forced wide, he thought the chance was gone.
Look at that clip though.
Gressel, out swinging ball, comes in the middle of the action from Aviles.
Tata Martino celebrates with his staff.
Massive start for Miami.
They lead Monterey by a goal to nil.
A little bit of a press being put on by Gallardo.
It's given away and then a heavy contact and a foul on Gomez who's going to go into the book.
That's generally thought of as the brain.
See it again.
He took out Max Meza.
Shin to shin.
Doesn't feel good.
Here's a burst down the right side for Monterey.
Chance to cross.
It's going to be a foul just outside the box and a free kick right on the edge of that 18 yard area.
Interesting free kick coming from Monterey.
Yellow card is out as well.
Who's that being shown to?
That was not Alba.
Instead, that was Davin Ruiz, must have said something.
I think Wagon has been contacted and a yellow card is the result.
Does Monterey have their first player in the book tonight?
55 minutes gone by in this CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinal first leg and it's inner Miami without Lionel Messi.
Here we go for the second half in Fort Lauderdale.
Can Monterey find a road goal?
One of two players from Miami.
Who is?
Alfonso Suarez.
Suarez slides it for Gressel.
Gressel takes the touch and it's out into touch.
Now it might fall.
Chance.
Get up, says the referee.
Big chance for a penalty.
We play on.
It was Davin Ruiz who was played in.
Luis Suarez through the wall and wide.
Monterey, that is, into the middle.
Left footed strike, dragged wide.
The down from Meza, got it stuck under his feet for a moment.
Referee putting his whistle to his lips and now blows it.
Another foul, another free kick from Monterey.
And a yellow card.
It's a second yellow and a red.
Sergio Busquets is off.
Or is that Davin Ruiz?
I think it's Ruiz who got the second yellow.
Then swung into the box.
Solidly away from there.
Chested down by Cortizo.
Cortizo cuts around one.
Cortizo shoots on target and Callender had some issues with it.
Hoping their side can grab an away goal from this corner.
Swung in left footed, comes all the way through.
Big save, rebound was there.
There's the Max Meza, scores for the Stripes.
A road goal for Los Realtos.
1-1 in Fort Lauderdale.
And Vasquez looming.
Canales.
Canales, saved by Callender and through traffic, his teammates able to find it
and shepherd it away.
Suarez does well to earn the free kick.
Wanted to take it right away.
But then give it away on the edge of the area.
And there's the effort in the corner.
It's a second goal for Monterey.
The Laudos have roared back in Fort Lauderdale.
Two big road goals and a road lead.
It's 2-1.
There's the final whistle.
Victory in Vice City for Monterey.
