Mike Trout hit an absolute rocket just over the wall for a homer. What a shot,
as the Angels deficit gets cut to 8-1. That's now 4 RBIs in the year for Trout,
all on solo homers. Trout being the first player with a 50 homer 50 RBI season get a hit like
crack. Speaking of crack, Ron Washington's team just didn't have it against the Red Sox on Sunday,
and I don't know what was going on in Anaheim other than the fact that the Red Sox just decided
to say run it back to Game 3 of the 2007 ALDS. David Hamilton hit his first ever big league
homer. Then Rafael Devers and Tyler O'Neal pulled a David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez. Tanner
Houck played the role of Kurt Schilling. Reese McGuire couldn't stop stroking balls left and
right. Red Sox win and finally head home after a month-long West Coast road trip.
Pretty sure I forgot the Brewers-Mariners game for Saturday's highlights, so I'll make it up
by saying the 10 things I love about each player on both teams. I'm kidding, but I do love me some
Willie Adamas homeruns. He's a fun player, and the Brewers showed as much mercy in this game
on the Mariners as Denzel Washington does to the bad guys in the Equalizer movies. The Mets at
least showed some mercy against the Reds in their win. Francisco Lindor popped his first homer at
2024. But what is it with the Mets and trying to get hit at the plate? Three years ago, Michael
Conforto did it against the Marlins to walk the game off, even though he blatantly reached his
elbow in. The umpire never called it, which was beyond stupid, but he did today against Pete
Alonzo, who also blatantly stuck his elbow out to get hit, with Alonzo being told to stay put,
where he and the Mets manager argued for a few seconds with the umpire. I mean, Alonzo wanted
this hit-by-pitch badly, which I don't fully get. Why not want to stay in the box and try to do
something better? I guess not everyone is built like Albert Bell. Dude did the complete opposite
after getting hit and argued with the umpire that the ball didn't hit him so he could stay up and
hit. Based. Almost as based as subscribing to this channel. The Philly Phanatic got shot by George
Washington in the nation's capital, as the Nats finally won again, beating the Phillies. The
Phanatic's biggest rival, Blooper, is having a grand old time right now, other than the Spencer
Strider news. The Braves' offense didn't go as nuts on Sunday, but they did hit some homers.
Matt Olsen hit his third of the year. Michael Harris and Austin Rielly connected for their
seconds. Chris Sale got his first win as a Brave. It's still kinda strange seeing him in Atlanta,
but it looks important as ever now because of the Strider news. And I also just love the fact
that Chris Sale is a handshake with Marcelo Zuna now. Just about the two most random guys that
would have a celebration together, yet here we are and I love every ounce of it. Braves sweep
the snakes. Speaking of wild animals getting killed, the Tigers got mauled again by Oakland.
After getting shut out on Saturday, they scored just one run on Sunday. Zach Gelof just randomly
decided to have the game of his life, hitting a triple, a homer, and two singles while driving
in four. The Tiger offense did nothing against A's pitching, losing the series. It just sucks
because no matter what the A's do, they're not making the Bay Area proud. The Giants definitely
made the Bay Area proud though. Just as proud of Jung-Hoo Lee as Ha-Seong Kim is. Even with
Lee being on the Giants, Kim had to let his fellow Korean brother get on base on a grounder
right at him. Very classy move by Kim. The Giants have some very appealing things on their team to
watch. Jorge Soler hitting baseballs as hard as Indiana Jones hitting Nazis is always fun. Matt
Chapman playing defense as smooth as my riz is always great. And along with his defense,
Chapman also knocked in a couple of runs, including the go-ahead one in the 8th as
San Francisco takes the series. So after being down 2-0, the Giants scored 3 straight to win 3-2.
The Marlins are cursed. They start 0-9, and just when they're about to get a nice smooth
10-1 win after the offense goes off and the pitching does well, the baseball gods go
they hate those fricking fish. But they still got the win, their first of 2024.
Finally. In yesterday's recap, I said if you're having alcohol issues,
it'll help to just take a shot every time the Marlins win. Of course, right when I say that,
they win, so if you learn one thing today, it's to never listen to me about beating addiction.
Just like Squidward is addicted to cash. And just like Angel Hernandez is addicted to making
bad calls. I just cannot for the life of me understand how this keeps happening. Last year
seemed like it may have been the beginning of the end. He wasn't umpiring for a while,
until he finally came back, but 2024 is just starting out hot. This is the biggest Angel
thing that happened. It was even impressive for Angel, well not really, it's expected,
but he had multiple f-ups on one pitch. When the Blue Jays pitcher stepped off the rubber,
but still went with the delivery as if everything was normal, Angel didn't catch that. Then the
pitcher proceeded to throw a breaking ball blatantly high, yet Angel called it first strike.
So then out comes Aaron Boone looking like an angry Italian dad at his son's Little League
game. But hey, credit to him, he didn't get ejected. Not sure how, because things only
got worse. It was only the first inning, and Yankees fans started chanting,
So Angel calls this a strike, and then calls this a ball. I'm just gonna start the conspiracy that
MLB allows this to happen, and has Angel purposefully do all of this to have people talking.
Then he starts doing stuff like this. Like what, does he think he's in some movie delivering some
crazy performance? Bro thinks he's him, and the pitcher is just like, what the hell is this idiot
doing? Other than the Angel Hernandez highlights, skinny Stanton kept it going, smacking a grand
slam 110 miles an hour off the bat, Yankees win. The Orioles had a great day. Ryan Mountcastle
drives in a run, Anthony Santander does the same. The middle infield defense was on point,
first a Gunner Henderson dive and quick throw to first to get out number one. Then Jorge Mateo
does the same on the opposite side, and then with the bases loaded in the ninth, up just one run,
Henderson makes another diving stop, touches second, and throws to first for the final,
oh nevermind. That's when Captain Jack Sparrow decided to make his presence and sell the ball
away. Going from no run scoring in an Orioles win, to two run scoring in a Pirates win in the blink
of an eye. I love baseball. Almost as much as I love Rage Shadow, nah I'm just kidding, I'm not
going to do that to you. I'm going to talk about Hunter Renfroe hitting his first bomb of the year,
and then MJ Melendez hitting his third of the year. The White Sox are racing a 3-0 lead and
losing 5-2, and yes I know that makes no sense, but I'm just going to go with it because it's
the White Sox, to get four games swept in Kansas City as we take a live look at White Sox fans.
Rockies fans are in the exact same boat as the Rays won again. Ryan Pepeo shoved with a capital
everything, striking out 11 hitters in six innings. Nasty work. One of my favorite players
in baseball now, Shota Imanaga pitched well today and was only able to go four innings because of
the stupid rain, but he made the most of it, and so did these awesome shirtless fans supporting him
in the left field bleachers. Pitching a really efficient and quick four scoreless innings with
some strikeouts as the Cubs went on to win a blowout, with the fans who stayed in the ballpark
after the delay getting rewarded for their Cody chance as he smacked his second bomb of the season.
After throwing a no hitter in just his eighth ever big league outing, Ronald Blanco continued
right where he left off, now in Arlington, going into the sixth inning allowing no hits. I mean,
a no hitter and the possibility of doing it for the second straight outing? This time against
the champs? This man had the chance at something insanely historic before Adolis Garcia went.
The Astros still won, Jordan Alvarez just continues to be actually unfair and provided
all the Astros runs on one big swing. The Rangers put together a cute little rally
in the ninth before saying Houston can have this one. Enjoy your Monday and I'll see you tomorrow.
