First Impressions of VIETNAM?! 24 hrs in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Ho Chi Minh a major city in Vietnam with one of the 93 million people A city known as Saigon is the headquarters of Chaos Vietnam A central camp came from the road to the unexpected camp We will never be ready to face what this city can develop into After driving away from the beach and the tranquility of Thailand Our development in Vietnam has come as a surprise to the system Especially after we I hope it's big enough because I don't want small bread today We came to make bread BánhUM Bread with holes dipped Bread fruit Xiu Sandwich Mini sandwich And the sandwich and the mini sandwich They have stuff that's in pawn On the page I think you can get them very easily but it costs us oh I think it's 38 000 I really like the sweater a lot That's very good it is also praised You can appear for actually was It was so nice and peaceful and then as soon as that door Opened to leave you could hear the beeping the sirens the bikes everything just going on I just said to Mitch I was in a little chance of where were and now we've just stepped back into the chaos Now what we're going to do is try and send a postcard home as I believe their post office here is something quite remarkable That's where we're heading now Hello This is great I love it It seems we are not the only people who wanted to come check out the post office It's a pretty cool place though This building is beautiful for three stamps to England Can you send them here Yes you have to send them here I had to go for a walk because this is the sort of place that just drives me insane Tourists everywhere people pushing in front trying to pay for things Honestly this is like hell for me I think I'm just going to go sit outside and wait for my office to come back up Thank you I'm alone in here now I've just picked up three postcards to send to our families It was all getting a bit too much for Mitch As you know we' re not the kind of people who like big cities or big crowds He was just getting really fed up with the chaos that is in here It's calmed down a little bit now but he's jus I went outside to wait and I said I'd sort it out because this kind of stuff really excites me I kind of love sending a postcard I'm hoping I've chosen as well but these are the ones I've gone for So I've gone for this one for Mitchell's mom She loves monkeys and then Hanoi another place we'll be heading So I got this one For my mom and dad because I thought it was really cool and then I got this one for Mitchell's dad Because we're going to be doing the High Van Pass and he likes his bikes Although it's not proper bikes these are push bikes but it's the best I could manage So now I just need to remember everyone's address and I'm going to write a little note And then post them off So Mitch has joined me I don't see what the fascination is in this I just like the idea of sending a postcard I've wanted to send a postcard since we left This isn't my thing But I've just written mine to my mom and dad I don't really know What else can I say because they watch these videos and then Mitch is doing his now I've put A up duck Apparently you are meant to send a postcard home from here So here you go Lots of now let's go explore somewhere else that's maybe less chaotic I doubt it The one thing you've got to respect about this place is that there's just so much hustle going on here Everyone's just trying to make their way through life making a living What would you do if you lived here What would your means of What's the money for Work in a coffee shop A coffee shop Drink all the coffee The coffee is good Or at a banh mi place Anything related to food or drink But on that note I actually want to go get my nails done I haven't pampered myself at all since we've been away even in the van And I thought while we're Here and it's pretty cheap that I would go and just try a random salon and try to get gel nails Nails are done But I've been robbed We checked the reviews for that place before we came here So we always want to know whatever we have whatever we eat we always check to see the price before we go Because we're on a budget And that place was three times more than what it said on the reviews They look lovely They'll last four weeks and then I'll probably have them taken off in Hanoi That's the plan But I do love them A little pampering for myself Merry Christmas to me Thank you Which one would you recommend Which is good One of them How good this looks Wow And I've just had a quick look to see what the etiquette is To try and eat this with the greens And it looks like you have your chopsticks in your right hand your spoon On your left And you kind of take the vegetables and the meat with your chopsticks and then you slurp Use your spoon Or try not to slurp How crazy that there's so much stuff in here I need a bag for when we're on the bike That can fit the camera the GoPro and other stuff So I think I might splurge on something Well splurge For how much there is here It's going to be fake but I don't know When in Rome Earn the badge What I like about this is that no one is really pressuring you We've been to markets before where people literally They are pulling you into the shops Whereas here they're not really bothering with you I don't know if you can haggle Here or not I tried a little bit earlier but they weren 't really having any of it I'm trying not to lose Mitch If even one person gets in front of us then we're gone We're separated I got lost Yeah I think I'll take this one Do you have any other colors This and this Yeah I think I'll I get very anxious in these types of situations I don't like people bothering me The bartering really makes me uncomfortable It makes me really anxious Sorry Really uncomfortable But so far honestly my experience has been that I've been really relaxed just strolling around whereas normally I'll put My head goes down naturally without even thinking about it My head will be down and I'll be out I'm actually Enjoying it Just look around Let's go this way So yeah Every market we've been in it's not even just one that's an exception We've been perched on some little stalls in basically the main alleyway of this market And we've come for a smoothie I've gone for a passion fruit and Mitch has gone for a mango That really turned me off Yeah I've gone passion fruit and Mitch has gone pineapple But it's funny vlogging It really is Watch it or it might get snatched Honestly I admire how hard these people are working here don't you The woman behind the desk is a blessing Working a million miles an hour She's making about 2 000 drinks And the woman who served us is pregnant Is she Yeah I'll tell you what that's often done That's so nice in the heat It's only 20 000 dollars It's hot Okay I'm back in the room now I ended up sitting outside for a while If any of you have been watching us for a while you know me and Martha are not very good with cities And earlier on I was getting a bit agitated He was so moody But now that's just restored my confidence Faith in humanity I thought were going to be completely hounded in there But that was actually really pleasant So we're going to keep exploring That woman knew how to use a cleaver Let me tell you that I would not mess with her Do you want to try it I couldn't resist She was cutting a bunch of conuts as we walked by So I had to get off We think the heavens are about to open any minute We're pacing through the jungle but Mitch had to stop for a conut Anything to keep him happy Wow I look like a tourist That's why they're going for me now Don't I I just need some elephant pants and that's it I need to get rid of this conut quickly I'll tell you what at night this place becomes a whole different animal Look at this Absolute carnage There are people riding up the paths There are just millions Look at them Absolutely brilliant Looks like a lot of fun though Can't wait to get on the bike tomorrow Are you joking Yeah I think we're in for a good laugh Now I'm hungry and we've also got a walking street to go through To get to the food which is an experience We did walk through there last night to go try and get some food and it is Anywhere here is hectic but this is haggling central isn't it Yeah I think we're going to have to do a challenge I'm going to record when we're walking through If Martha Walking through I'll behind her and we'll see how many times she gets stopped to be pushed into a bar Okay I'm in for that Let's see how many times A guy yesterday literally pulled me away from you Just to get me into his bar It's a great experience No thank you Well that's a pedestrian street if you're ever interested Yes it is crazy but if you were wanting to do a pop crawl with some of your mates from your hostel or just the two of you if it was just two of you You could have a good time just going from one to another and just bartering with them about the price Of the beer I think they'd take it Yeah it's great fun All we seem to have done all day is eat What else do you do when you're in a city Other than spending money So yeah we're going to go try to find some food I must say the Vietnamese language It's very hard to tell what is what Because banh mi for instance actually means baguette and then anything after that means what's in it So even that is hard to find To know what's actually in the sandwich unless there's pictures Hey shall we go here Yeah we could go here Thank you I think they might just do is it pho Yeah pho But Martha wants some spring rolls So hopefully they do that as well Yeah they'll do everything in here Beef blood bowl Oh my god Would you eat that No I don't know what we just ordered but it looks okay Just by the side of the road When we say the side of the road it wouldn't surprise me if a scooter comes past me any second on this pavement to be honest But this is what I've been after all day We didn' t really speak earlier because I got a bit hungry After doing my nails but that pho we had earlier was good but I was after more of this experience I like when you're sitting o your plastic stools are literally on the pavement you always get the best food here We've just chosen a Vietnamese beef stew that comes with bread because their bread here as we saw this morning is very good That smells really nice Looks good doesn't it Yeah this is very different from the one we had earlier there's a lot less liquid Oh wow look at that meat Wow Oh my god what There's a lot of cow in here Is that a carrot Oh I'm excited about this And then we just have bread to eat it with This looks That was nice but it looked completely different from what we had earlier but it tasted exactly the same So If that's going to continue I don't know how long we're going to be able to eat Vietnamese food without getting bored of it Thank you How much £162 000for a while £6 That's not really expensive for what you get Fresh meat fresh food fresh herbs Thank you Come on it's time to go back Time to get some sleep We're all packed up and ready to hit the road We' ve got another bag now that goes on the front of me Yeah I'm looking brilliant right now But
