In this episode I camp in an picturesque off-grid mountain setting that rivals a beautiful painting! At about 10,000 FT in elevation, the views are gorgeous and the wildflowers are popping! This is my kind of scenery! I ❤️ the Mountains!
Good morning. I'm headed up to what I think is going to be
an awesome campsite but instead of talking about it I will show it to you
when we get there.
I'm getting better at this setting up the trailer thing.
This place had a magical feeling to me. It was as though I was dropped into the
middle of a painting. You'll soon see what I'm talking about.
Well I've arrived and I've set up camp. I'm actually here with my sister and
brother-in-law. They are setting up camp next to me so
you may hear their voices as I'm talking. I have been in Utah for a
little while. I came back here to do a house sitting gig which you guys
saw a couple of videos ago. Then my family came so I stayed here to
visit with them and had a great time. I decided to go ahead
and stay through my birthday and the 4th of July because they were right next to
each other and that way I was with family over the holidays
and it was really awesome. So this is my last little outing
with family before I get back on the road again. We're going to be here a
couple of nights together and then when we part ways I will go my
own way. I am somewhere in the Fish Lake National
Forest. It is absolutely stunning. We're at about
10,000 feet in elevation. It's gorgeous. The wildflowers are
popping. My view right now is this beautiful meadow with these gorgeous
pine trees that look like Christmas trees. The temperatures are much
cooler up here. It is just stunning. I'm looking forward to
and then we stumbled upon this enchanted place.
This is awesome. Birdie agreed it was amazing too.
The ride was definitely worth the dirt I picked up along the way.
Holy moly I got filthy with a capital F. Seriously like pig pen from the
Charlie Brown cartoon. Everywhere I'm every time I moved
dust just flew off of me. I took off all those clothes and just put them right
into my shower and I'll probably wear them again
tomorrow because they're already filthy. That's one thing about doing the
side-by-side or the OHV is that you get absolutely filthy and this dirt's
very fine so it just permeates every
inch of your body. It was absolutely worth it though.
It was so fun. Absolutely beautiful. Just stunning. We found that little canyon
with a trail. I'll have to do some research to find
out what that is. It looked absolutely amazing. I really
wanted to just keep going but we wound up being out for several
hours. It's dinner time. We're all really hungry.
My sister is preparing the meals for both nights
on the trip which is awesome. I think we're either having spaghetti or
hamburgers tonight. I'm not sure. It is raining right now. You can probably
hear the raindrops on top of the trailer. It sounds like it might be slowing down.
I see blue sky in front of me and white puffy clouds but there's
a dark rainy cloud over us right now. Anyhow, I'm hungry so hopefully dinner's
awesome. Topped off with apple pie a la mode of
course. We wound down the evening enjoying being
a part of this beautiful painting.
Morning has become my favorite part of the day when everything is still
and quiet and you hear nothing but the sounds of nature.
Top of the morning to you. I tried to shoot this morning talking scene
while I was sitting here at the dinette talking to the camera. However,
because it's so bright behind me with this scenery
I'm completely in silhouette so it didn't work out. I've had people ask me
why I don't do that and that's pretty much why. I had
such a peaceful night's sleep last night. It's so peaceful and quiet
and I absolutely loved waking up here. It is just gorgeous. This is my kind of
scenery. I could imagine having a little log cabin
right here and I'd be perfectly content. Today the plan is to do some more
exploring of this area. I'm really excited for
that but first coffee, a little breakfast and
just a nice peaceful morning relaxing here at camp.
This is breakfast this morning. A maple bar. Easy peasy.
Came across this bushcraft shelter in the woods behind our camp
or is it a sasquatch shelter? You be the judge. I could see squash
huddling up in there. This morning my sister and I set out on
a photography mission.
After our ride today we just came back here to camp and took it slow and easy.
Sat outside. Enjoyed the sunshine. It felt so good.
The weather is just perfect up here. I just took it all in. Watched the wind
blowing through the trees and it's just quiet and peaceful and
just an amazing afternoon. The drive was incredible today.
My sister made a really awesome dinner of spaghetti and she had
the sauce prepared from home which she made previously which it made it really
easy and tonight we're gonna have apple pie
a la mode for dessert. I think we're gonna sit around a fire
pit. They brought a propane stove or fire pit
so we're gonna go ahead and do that and fires are permitted here
in designated fire rings and if you have a stove like we have
they are permitted. So yeah it should be a lovely evening.
It was bittersweet saying goodbye to my sister and brother-in-law.
I've never been good at goodbyes but we'll see each other down the road
and I will see you in the next state. To be continued.
