Did you spend a lot of time to read the whole reading but not enough time to read?
Or are you misusing the underline while listening?
Or if you can hear a sentence, write it down right away?
Or in the speaking part, you use super high vocabulary but the point is low.
And those are the common mistakes that I heard from my students during the course of EELS.
And I have summarized some tips for you.
Welcome to the English learning series with the teacher White's Elite.
In today's video, let's talk about the common mistakes that you just took the EELS or you haven't had the experience yet.
Common mistakes in reading, listening, speaking and writing.
And first, let's talk about the reading part.
In reading, there is a quite difficult subject, which is matching.
There are two popular subjects, which are matching headings and matching information.
And in some cases, this subject is often placed at the beginning of each part.
In addition, the common mindset when doing your reading is to do it from top to bottom.
So that the information is always arranged in the order corresponding to the questions.
This is right, not wrong.
However, you should remember that the matching part is being done at the end.
That is, no matter where it is in any part of the reading, it doesn't matter.
You should do it in front of the parts such as choosing true, false, not given or fill in the blanks.
Or answer the questions from top to bottom.
And gradually, you will get all the information of the whole subject.
And the feature of the matching part is to clearly hold the information and the main purpose.
So you will save more time.
And note that the points of each sentence are the same, so you can do any sentence first.
It has nothing to do with the points you get.
And the second factor in the reading technique that I see students often neglect.
That is to skip skimming and go straight to scanning.
Unlike scanning, skimming is just reading through.
And this only takes about 2 to 5 minutes.
Skimming before doing the test will help you get the main points of the whole test.
What is this test about? How many paragraphs are there?
And if you read well, you can still get the points of each paragraph.
There are so many benefits like that, why do you skip it?
This only takes about 5 minutes for you.
And the next factor that everyone has missed is the translation of each sentence, each word to understand the reading.
This is actually what you should only apply when practicing IELTS at home or doing the test.
So you don't need to translate the whole text.
Just apply 2 skimming and scanning techniques to get the points you need and do the test.
And the second part is listening.
More details are in the multiple choice question.
Because you have to listen for a long time.
So some of you tend to underline.
This causes confusion and confusion.
Because some words that you underline are not keywords.
And instead of that, you have to pay attention to the answers.
Compare and compare which answers are different.
And those are the keywords that you need to underline.
And then just listen to each sentence.
And next is being too hasty in choosing answers.
Of course, if you listen quickly and hear the answer, this is very good.
But in some cases, you are like a rabbit that has lost its tail.
That's when people say something, you quickly choose that answer.
Watch out for that tail.
And people know you're going to do that, so they deliberately mention the confusing information.
And the correct information will be mentioned later.
Or they will paraphrase it in another way.
Speaking is a skill that makes people quite dizzy when practicing.
And the first mistake is trying to use super high-pitched words.
And you've heard the saying, what's good if it's a lot, but it's not good if it's too much.
And using those words and structures can make you lose your tail.
However, sometimes using words that are too rare in speaking will make them lack confidence.
Because you have to spend time memorizing the super high-pitched words you've learned.
And remember that the Sequel Result is just one of four criteria for speaking.
In addition, there are Pronunciation, Fluency and Coherence, Grammar Sequel Range.
So pay attention to these criteria and focus on practicing well.
And the last skill that I and many others evaluate as the most difficult in IELTS Writing.
And to do well, you don't just have to know the structure to write in Task 1, Task 2.
You have to know the vocabulary, the structure, the way to translate well.
And more importantly, you have to know the idea.
This is for Task 2.
In Task 2, this is an essay about a given topic.
Just like you guys in the National Communication Exam.
You have to write about a social theory.
Because you think you have to know a lot of ideas to get a high score.
However, the limit of Task 2 is only 250 words.
And the limit is within 1 hour for both Task 1 and Task 2.
So if you want to write 250 words, you can write more or less than 10%.
It means from 225 words to 275 words only.
So don't write too long.
Just keep the main idea and act logically.
And this is how I went from 6.0 to 8.0 in IELTS.
And how to help hundreds of students in Washington always score high in the IELTS competition.
And a little background about me.
I am an ex-student of Western Sydney University in New South Wales, Australia.
And now I am a teacher at Wise English.
And if you are like me before, always struggling with IELTS.
And practice, practice, practice.
It's only around 5.0 or 6.0.
This is the strategy for you.
And here are all the experiences during the course of study as well as my teaching.
I hope it will help you in the upcoming competition.
