Museum Of Troy, Canakkale, TURKEY

Where we are right now, we are in Troya Museum. Troya Museum is one of the newest museums in Turkey. It's already done five years ago in the pandemic actually. We have some free time and they did this incredible museum. This is actually one of the best museums in Turkey and two years ago it has the gold medal. It's chosen as the best museum in Europe because when you're starting to turn inside the museum they make big ramps and you cannot miss anything. When you're turning around you have to see every detail inside the museum. Of course it has a period schedule starting from the first Troya in the entrance and when it's going top it's ending with the last Troya. But the last stage is the most important and the most incredible stage because the jewelries are there. The jewelries of the kings, the crowns, the necklaces, rings and all others and more or less most of them are golden. They're using on the top stage. In this part, actually I love this part more than others because you can see so different statues and so detailed statues and steles on the back side which belong to the Roman time. That means from the 8th and the 9th Troya because 9 Troya is already Roman, 8 Troya is more or less Roman and in that period the kings came here. There are so important kings, emperors in the Roman period. One is Augustus behind me. It's a young one, actually he was an old man but more or less they prepare his face younger than he's shown. And on the back side my best, he is Hadrianus. Hadrianus is one of the best emperors inside the Roman empire and you can see those statues and those statues are not brought from Rome. They already did these statues here and we have this inside Troya, the later ages Troya so that you can find so many statues in the Roman style. And you can find some steles on the back side. Steles are the things which also seem like statues but those steles are used in the tombs. Those are not coffins which we see like here. We have so many coffins like this in the cities. It's a later ages digging style. They put the body directly inside the coffin and close it. If he or she is an important man or person, they also make the story of his life or her life on the coffin as you see on the back side. Also they are showing the ceremony of the dead on the coffins.
