We are going on the biggest school field trip
that we've ever gone on.
Denver, Chicago.
We're going to Brussels, Belgium.
We made it to Washington.
This might be the most stressful trip we have ever been on.
Good morning, TOA squad.
When I start the videos, comment down below,
what happens when I'm the one who starts the video?
What kind of video is it?
It's crazy.
Okay, we are going on the biggest school field trip
that we've ever gone on.
We're going farther away from our house
than we've ever gone.
This is gonna take more flights than we've ever taken.
And we are leaving before the sun comes up.
So I'm gonna go tell the kids,
but we're not telling them where we're going yet.
We're not telling them anything about it.
I'm just telling them to get their backpack
and to pack a certain thing for this field trip.
Let's do this.
All right, everyone's out here just living their life
and the kids have no idea why I shopped so much.
So, Rykel, you wanna go on a field trip?
Go get a bag and get ready to pack.
Wait for my text.
Cora, Cora, Cora, Cora, Cora.
Wanna go on a field trip?
Yeah.
Go get your bag and wait for my text.
Okay.
All right, Cora.
Are you packing?
Yeah.
You almost done?
Yeah.
Amazing.
I think Evie might've grabbed two of everything I text her.
Look at all that.
She's very prepared, but you don't want too much
because what if you have to hike around
with it on your back all the time?
We already did that in Europe, so.
Oh, and we already did that in Europe.
Okay, let's go check on the boys.
Shae, Shae, Shae, Shae, there you are.
Would you like to go on a field trip?
Duh.
Get your bag right now.
All right, so I got the packing list first
and I have no idea where we're going.
I'm trying to guess.
We need pants, long sleeve shirt and shirts,
plus hoodie and jacket.
That's what I've packed so far.
All right, so I just got the list.
I am actually going and packing now.
I had to do some chores for mom, but I'm really excited.
We're packing, so we're traveling somewhere.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I'm so excited.
I want to know where we're going already.
Day two.
Good morning.
It is 4 a.m.
We're ready to get on a plane.
We have bags all here.
Good morning.
Today's the day.
Cora.
Okay, kids or girls are getting up.
Oh look, Wyatt's up.
Teenagers.
No!
Okay, well you're gonna be real sad
if you miss this field trip.
Get up.
Officially 4.13 in the morning.
Get moving.
Oh, look at that little nubbin.
I got a granola.
Haven't had this for a long time.
Klai's stuffing in her last minute things.
What's up everybody?
I am eating dinner.
Lunch, breakfast, a meal.
Oh, Evee's wearing Shae's or Wyatt's old shoes.
Wyatt's wearing Shae's old shoes.
Rykel's wearing my shoes.
Cora's wearing Evee's old shoes.
It's all a bunch of hand-me-downs in our big family.
That's how it works.
We have literally less than three minutes.
Turn off our lights, go to the bedrooms,
make sure everything's put away.
Say goodbye to these puppies for a little bit.
Hi puppies.
All right, Evee, time to go.
Okay, 4.40, this is where it gets gnarly.
And the place that we're going requires us
to take an antibiotic pill.
So this is Shae's.
Shae's taking his pill.
Hurry, buddy.
4.43, we're heading out the door.
Let's get out.
It's still super dark because it's still 4 a.m.
Yeah.
We are ready to board.
It's gonna be a very long day.
I think that most of us slept.
Yeah.
It is 8 a.m.
We are now in Denver.
We got a lot of gates to walk to.
Evee's got both of her bags all balanced on her.
Breakfast of champions.
See if Cora likes the avocado toast with salmon.
Rykel and Wyatt are having the messy food.
All right, say goodbye to Denver.
Bye.
All right, it's time to go.
Another flight.
♪ Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
Welcome to Chicago. What's up? Hey, you made it.
Okay, we just landed in Chicago. Is this the place, Wyatt? Is Chicago our destination?
I don't know. What would we do in Chicago?
No. We said we're gonna go across the world. Our field trip is not ending here in Chicago.
This airport has a really good food court, so we went and got a variety of food. I got a sandwich
sub sandwich. All right, I just got a really bad text saying that our next flight was totally
canceled, like canceled, canceled. So I'm gonna go to customer care right here and see if I can't
get this fixed. Klai, what'd you get for lunch? Chinese. Chinese. Rykel, what'd you get for lunch?
That did me no good. I only have bad news, but I'll have to figure it out. So let's go tell the
kids. And Evie got? Pizza. Pizza. Oh, and pizza. What's up, dad? Uh-oh. What's going on? I was just
eating. So this field trip is like the farthest across the world we've ever done. We have an
eight-hour flight that we're getting on right now. From Chicago we go to our next destination. I'm
really excited about this one. Totally canceled the next flight to our next destination. Totally
canceled. Gone. Not even like delayed an hour or delayed this. Yes. The last flight, right? If it
was a middle flight, like totally canceled. Be in another country. We can't leave the airport. We
can't go anywhere. We are stuck. 24 hours. We will be stuck and we can't do anything. What are we
going to talk about this? So we have a few hiccups that we're working out. Jase is on the phone now
with the airlines. We've got a long two days ahead of us. All right. Jase is going to make it happen.
We have a lot of plans and this means it's going to cancel part of our trip,
cancel part of our things that we're doing. So this is kind of a bummer. Let's hope that it works.
All right. Jase has been talking to the airline for some time.
We are getting on the next flight. We're hoping that we can connect. All right. Here's the update.
We're going to Brussels, Belgium. Yeah. What? We're going to Brussels. No way. Where's that?
She says. Where's that dad? Northeast of France. But guess what? Still not our final stop. Oh,
well, we had a big hiccup. So what actually happened dad? I'm not going to tell anybody
until we get there. Cause I don't know how we're going to get over it. The ladies are
talking at the desk right now about how to handle our situation. Cause they canceled our flight
to after Brussels. Yeah. Okay. We just got more bad news. Our flight that got
potentially delayed out of Brussels, Brussels airline canceled our flight. So we are going to
possibly stuck in Brussels. We're not sure if we should even get on the plane from Chicago to
Brussels. Our field trip might end right here in Chicago, which is great, but not where we wanted
to go. And we have lots of plans and lots of things booked. Oh my gosh. This might be the
most stressful trip we have ever been on. Right Cora? Jase is talking to customer service right
now. This is the customer service. There's Jase. He's talking to them, trying to get us a connecting
flight. Brussels is just canceled. What is going on? All right. The flight is boarding and we have
some news. We're not going to make it today. It's better that we stay here overnight in the United
States than we get stuck in Brussels because no European country will let us stay overnight.
Hey guys, I'm really sorry. So today we get to go and explore Chicago. Well, it's like almost
bedtime. So tomorrow we will wake up early and we will fly to DC. And then after DC,
we will fly to Brussels and then we'll see what happens there. Evie is not stoked at all.
These guys are troopers.
It gets worse. We have to. Don't even rehash it right now. I'm too mad to talk on camera.
This might be the worst trip. The worst trip and we haven't even started.
We haven't even gotten halfway. Halfway. So we first were going to go to Brussels tomorrow.
That got canceled. Then we were going to go to Germany. That got canceled because our family's
too big. So we have to split up. What? They have to split our family in two groups and we have to
go to two different locations. So some of us will go to Newark. Some of us will go to Washington,
DC. Then from Newark to Washington, DC, we will meet up in Brussels. Praying our flight from
Brussels to our next destination does not get canceled. No. Praying that this subpar airline
can actually get us all there. Should we cancel this field trip? This field trip,
if we cancel this, it would not happen for another worst circumstance. So we're gonna go to a hotel
and jump on the beds and do some stuff. So not happening. We have finally made it to the hotel.
Squeezed into this elevator. We're gonna get some sleep and start the flights all over again.
All right. We got settled in the hotel room. We're having Chinese for dinner.
Yeah. We'll go to bed soon so Jase can be a happy camper. And we are watching
Olympics. Good morning to a new day. And hopefully this day is better than yesterday.
Fingers crossed we have a better day today. We get on with decent seats. This day is gonna kind of
suck because we're gonna have to split up. Now we wait for our shuttle bus to take us. And this
is what's happening. What is going on? It's WrestleMania in this hotel. All right. So
luckily they gave us some food vouchers. It's not a lot, but at least we can get some snacks and some
food here at the airport as we are waiting for our departure before we split up our group. Super
bummed about this. Wish us luck that we don't get another hang up and we end up in some random
country. Mom took off with Shae and they made it and they're going. It's been an hour. We're still
sitting on our planes still in Chicago. All right. We just landed. Where are we? We're in D.C. right?
We made it to Washington, but guess what? I just got word that Jace's and the rest of the kids,
they might miss their connection. Yeah. They had some flight problems and someone had to get taken
off the plane. Not our family, but something happened. So I don't even know if we should carry
on to Brussels. We're getting on the flight. Us and Colton. Good luck to dad who has all the rest
of the kids. All right. We are on the plane. Oh yeah. And we have not heard back from dad. So
we're going to leave, I think, before we get service back from dad. What happens if we get
to Brussels and they don't make it? I don't even know what to do. Fingers crossed. Pray for us
because this has so far been the hardest trip we've ever gone on. All right. About to take off.
Here is our next leg. I just got news. Jace made it on his flight or made it to the gate.
Hopefully he makes it on the flight and we're heading to Brussels.
How was your dinner? Yep. Just finished my ice cream and realized I got a little cold.
So last time I let United do this to my family. There's these ones.
There's those ones. Would you want to say last on the plane again? I am not happy still.
That was intense. This is where we were supposed to be. Six hours later.
Just landed in Brussels. Still hoping to hear from Jace and the other kids.
All right. We spread out. Shae, did you sleep? Oh yeah. That's great. Colton, did you sleep?
Me neither. Well, that's Brussels. Okay. I'm feeling much better. I was super stressed when
we had two parts separate from Jace because I wasn't sure if we were both going to get on the
plane to here, to Brussels. But he did message or at least a text came through right when we
landed, which means he sent it right after I got into the air and they made it on the flight.
And so that's good news. Hopefully they can meet us in Brussels before our next connecting flight.
Okay. We've been waiting for a bit, but it looks like our bus is here
to transfer us to the next gate. We're getting closer.
They just got a text that they just landed. Yay. I feel like so relieved now. Yes,
they are here in Brussels. We are going to meet them right now. We're going to
look for some waffles because that's what Belgium is known for. Yes, Shae? My spirits are high. I
feel a lot better than I did eight hours ago. So that's good.
All right. We're getting off the airplane. I've held a good service,
let Evie sleep on her nap for a long time. Now they're going to find mom.
Hello. Did you have a good flight? Clay, did you have a good flight?
Yes. Okay. We're going one way on the moving escalator. Shae's going to try and run up.
Go, Shae, go. Go, Shae, go. Are you going to make it? Oh, yay.
On the bus, I think he's going to be close. I'm so excited to see them.
Weird, but we've only been apart for like eight hours, but I miss them so much.
We're here. Finally. Shae ran all the way over here. He was so excited.
We're in that bus. For a second, I thought we were going to die.
Hi. Why are you not as excited as I am? Because we're exhausted. We're very excited.
We just met the cutest fan out here in the Belgium airport. I'm really, really excited.
She was so cute. Don't ever be afraid to come up and say hi. We love meeting everybody.
We're all back together again. Which makes me so happy. So happy. Gosh, that was crazy.
All right. Well, you guys might have guessed. We're not staying here in Brussels.
We're going one more place. Are you ready for it? Yeah. Where are we going? We're going to Africa.
This whole crazy hassle is going to be amazing. Okay, now it's worth it.
We have a 10 and a half hour flight.
What are we going to do? Where are we going to go? Oh, we have lots of fun things planned.
Is Africa going to be the last stop? That's what we're doing. Field trip in Africa. You ready for
this? I'm so excited. Oh yeah. We traveled really far with extra bags full of food and snacks because
we're going to be going really, really far and doing some really cool things.
Getting everyone settled. Then we go to Entebbe in Uganda. But because of all the delays,
because of everything else, our first part of the field trip we don't get to do,
and we have to do a five and a half hour road trip starting at midnight. Oh my goodness.
Okay, so here's what's going on. We're going to land in a country, in a place called Burundi,
but don't get off the plane, okay? We're just going to stay here and watch movies.
Okay. So we're going to stay, and then we're going to take back off and then go to our place,
and then we have a five and a half hour road trip overnight. Okay, so Cora looks like a zombie.
Evie, Rykel, Klai, they're all fine, but their cabin is freezing. Really? Ours, we're sweating.
All right, we stopped and half the plane got off in Burundi, and now we're going to wait
until the plane starts again. I've never done this. No. And then we go on to Entebbe. I'm
going to go peek on the kids if I can. All right guys, look at this. The plane is half empty.
Actually, I would say two thirds got off. Yeah. You guys good? Have all your stuff?
Where's Shae? Shae's going to bed. We're doing something. Okay. Only one more hour.
One more. We can do this, Rykel. One more hour. Okay. They're going to start boarding some more,
and then we are going to get on the road and almost to our destination.
We are two hours late, and we have arrived in Uganda, and now paperwork
and getting the kids off the plane. Hope no one's sleeping.
Made it. We have everybody. Cora, Rykel, Shae, Wyatt, Evie. Okay.
Because of our travels, we missed that, but we made it though. Evie has another stamp
in her passport. Guess what you get to do? You get to take a COVID test.
Hey, go this way. Love you. All right, so now we're in a parking lot.
The kids have to go get tested. I don't because I'm vaccinated, but they do. So now we're going
to use teeny little bus. All right, this kid sleeps anywhere. Shae, it's time for your test.
Come on, buddy. Wake up. Here, take your paper. Look at this. He's going to fall asleep.
Currently 2.20. We are in the waiting tent. No one is here. There's two other people far away.
Jase is all asleep. Kids are entertaining themselves. We're hoping to get test results
so we can drive to our next destination. We have been traveling for over three days now.
Before they can officially let us into the country, we got to get our test results back
from our COVID testing screening. And oh my gosh, we're good. We got a COVID test before
it has been three days of travel. We want to make sure that we're good.
We didn't catch anything in the airport. So we are entertaining ourselves.
You're in denial. I'm not. Living water is the source of denial.
