The third week of our 28-day, cross-country RV trip took us to California's Lake Tahoe where we enjoyed the beautiful blue waters of the mountain lake and explored with family hiking. Join us to see what it's really like hiking this popular spot and to find out how it goes with our kids along for the adventure. We spent the summer traveling across America in our Class C RV, leaving the Panhandle of Florida to visit Arizona, Utah, California and plenty of points in between. Join us for the journey to see what it's like spending a month in an RV, including the ups and the downs as well as the fun and the frustrations! Our stops on the trip include the Grand Canyon and Page in Arizona, Zion National Park in Utah, Lake Tahoe, California, Las Vegas, Nevada, and much, much more!
What up YouTube? The Joiner's here. I'm Joshua and I'm Liz and together with our three kids we are
taking a cross-country summer trip from the Fort of Panhandle to South Lake Tahoe, California
and back. Driving our Class C RV we explored 10 different states over four weeks laughing,
sometimes crying, but always making memories with our family. If you want to see what it's like to
leave everyday life behind and join us for a trip of a lifetime then come along for the adventure.
We are on day 12 of our trip out west and we made it to Lake Tahoe. We got here yesterday,
spent time with family back at our campsite and then also at the cabin and now we are
checking out Bliss Beach and just doing some hiking and playing on the water.
It's cold huh? I'm not getting in it if I don't have to unless I fall. It is freezing. But it's
absolutely gorgeous. You can see all the way down to the very bottom. It's just crystal clear and
blue. Definitely not the desert. We woke up this morning and it was in the 40s and we were freezing
but by this afternoon like it feels great out here. Tahoe is just going to be a fun time with
family. My sister and her husband and their three little girls are here. My younger brother and
his wife and their little baby boy is here. So we're just going to be soaking it all in, playing
on the water, hiking and just really enjoying this time period before we head out to Yosemite.
When you go on a two mile hike with 13 people half of which are children under the age of eight
you have to prepare.
Go back into your hole.
All right let's go guys. We're going to this right here. So we're going on a full days hike.
So probably quarter mile, half a mile.
We made sure we brought snacks and drinks and we have lunch and
dinner just in case we need it. We all got our big packs on. Mommy I put my snacks in my pocket.
You are the queen.
So what's the elevation? Um I think 50 above sea level. We've gone a quarter mile so far.
Parkour.
It's beautiful.
Josh, I don't know if we're going to be able to use this video. I'm breathing too heavy.
That's all you hear in the background. You want to help carry her? I can breathe a lot heavier.
Have you ever seen the Grand Canyon? Yes.
I got it. Just jump.
You can do it.
There we go. I did it.
Ryan, I dare you to carry this one in and out. You want to show me?
I think Christian told us there's fruit wood in here. Is that what's shiny?
Yeah. Oh I see it. This is part of the rock that came tumbling down at us since you guys
didn't see that. Did you record that? I did. So it's part of the rock that came tumbling down at us.
And I think this is the part that rumbled down too. I'm dirty. You're filthy. You are filthy.
So is Abby behind you? No. Josh, really?
Hey, I want you to go with an adult. Go around this way, baby.
Did you guys go up a path or did you just forge your own shortcut?
Are you gonna find the internet on daddy's phone? Yeah. No, we are enjoying nature,
not watching YouTube. No, we're going to see a waterfall.
Yeah, we just hike all day.
I do not hear waterfall at all.
All we know is this guy was hiking. We asked him where the waterfall was and he said you go this
way but do not dare go that way. So we went this way. Mom, seriously? I thought it was right around
the bend. See what I have to put up with? I was born into this family. I can't leave.
You had to put up with me.
I'm starting to hear the water. So maybe we're coming up on this waterfall.
So we found the waterfall. Two minutes on third. There we go.
We found the waterfall.
We hiked about 1.1 miles. Finally found the waterfall. Like, subscribe, comment,
and ring the bell. Yeah, what he said.
It took us an hour and a half to hike 1.1 miles to this waterfall. We essentially went a tenth
of a mile every 10 minutes. Hi, baby. You went the fastest. Yes, you did. Actually, me and Claire
got here first. Go under the waterfall, Jason. I dare you. Head under. Don't hit your head.
How many people today put their head in real water?
You can do it.
You can do it, Claire. It will dry.
Okay, put your head under.
It's so cold. Fill the water. I didn't. You missed out. Well, I got in the water yesterday at Lake
Tahoe and you did not. This is true. You got a good point there. And I swam in the blue hole
and you did not. I did too. Yes, you did. You jumped in and that was the only time.
So, I still swam in it. All right. Are we ready to hike back? Yes. All right.
Everyone else has left us. We have little legs. Oh, I got the keys too.
We got some little legs up here. We made it. We made it. We're here. I see you. We've been in
there forever. We could have found our way out. We could have found our way out, but we saw Johnny
was like wandering around. We found him lost. Well, it's about damn time. I mean.
Baby, did you miss me?
In a minute. I'm in need.
Did you survive the hike? We did. I thought we were going to come back and get you. In fact,
we did. We sent Johnny. What? We could have figured it out. You think so? Yeah. It was
kind of confusing. I mean, we did call Christian. Yeah, you had to FaceTime him to get directions I
heard. You got snacks? Yeah. Say, Mommy, we beat you. What happened? We beat you. What happened?
Lila was picking flowers to make a smoothie. No. Is that what happened? We're like, no.
Oh, we survived. What time is it? So, it's like two hours, two and a half?
It's six. And we started at three thirty. Two and a half hours to hike all the way up
to the top up there. And now, it looks like it might rain. So,
finished just in time. Woo. Survived. All them kids. All that way. And back. Go us.
