This is the face of a man immediately after he attacked Bishop Maramari on the pulpit last night.
According to witnesses, he attacked the bishop during a live stream with a knife,
stabbing him multiple times while screaming Allahu Akbar.
But the context here goes back to at least February,
when the bishop said that people have been saying that he only has two weeks left to live.
So let me fill you in on the story here and why this should matter to you.
So if you haven't heard of Bishop Maramari Emmanuel, he's an Assyrian Orthodox bishop
who started gaining a lot more attention lately on social media in the last few months,
especially after his viral podcast with PBD.
But just a few days ago on his YouTube channel,
he told a story that may have played a role in the motive behind this attack.
You know what, this story could get me into trouble if anything really.
People might not like what they hear. I'm not making it up.
And to give you the context of the video,
he not only addressed Andrew Tate's claims about Christianity being weak.
And let me say this to Andrew Tate, if you think that Christians are coward, you are mistaken.
But he also made some Muslims mad when he said this.
The Lord, no one else, took me to heaven.
Let me tell you, there is no Muhammad. There is no Buddha. There is no Krishna.
There is no one, only one, Jesus.
You can follow Muhammad, he'll get you nowhere.
The only one that truly is who he is, is Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
And this has got nothing to do with Christians or anyone else.
It's got to do with the truth.
And just last night during his live stream,
he was attacked by a man with a knife who witnesses say,
was attacking him while saying Allahu Akbar.
I was the first one to grab him.
You can't tell on camera?
No, no.
Okay.
Well, you can just tell me, tell me what happened.
Camera's not on you.
He was stabbing?
Yeah.
And I saw him, I ran and grabbed him from behind and just pushed him down.
Look.
Oh, that's all his blood.
Wow.
He was saying that?
Yeah, yeah.
Wow, okay.
Now, really think about this.
If what the bishop said played a role in the motive behind this attack,
imagine being so insecure about your beliefs,
that your response to people criticizing your beliefs is to try to kill them.
This obviously does not show confidence.
If anything, it only shows the weakness of their faith and their theology.
And what makes all of this even more ironic is the fact that
in that same clip that could have triggered the attacker,
the bishop showed the true power of Jesus
compared to the weakness of those who have no choice but to spread their views with violence.
Christ is the only revolutionist ever to exist.
No human being ever was able to change the whole world with a word.
Superpowers came with weapons and great force.
They could not change nothing.
Jesus, no weapon, no knife, no sword, nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
He changed the whole world with a word.
There is no one greater than Jesus Christ of Nazareth ever to exist on the face of this planet.
I belong to that Jesus.
I fear no one and I fear nothing.
Understand?
And even more ironically, not too long ago,
the bishop gave a different sermon which is completely fitting for this entire situation.
You know, when you get attacked, I know it's ugly.
I know sometimes it is unbearable.
But in a way, you need to thank God.
You know why?
Because if you're getting attacked, that means Christ is really very close with you,
in you, and walking along with you.
That's why you are getting on Satan's nerve.
So thank the Lord and say,
It's very unbearable, this trial, but you're with me.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.
For you are with me, Psalm 23.
For you are with me.
So all this attacker really did was to add credibility to the bishop's message
while also ensuring that the bishop and his message is going to be way more popular than ever.
If the bishop survives this attack,
he's going to have a far greater reach than he ever had before.
And if he doesn't,
well, he's spoken several times about how he has no fear whatsoever of death
and can't wait to be with Jesus.
I was extremely excited when I heard that I have two weeks to live.
This is not an escape, no.
I'm saying it with confidence in the Lord Jesus.
I love you, Lord, and I choose you any time of the day,
all day long, to be with you.
I don't care about the world and whatever the world gives.
And this is where his confidence is different
from those who have to attack other people with violence.
It's not as though those of us that are Christians
don't fear death because another mere man came and told us not to.
We don't fear death because we have evidence of Christ
who gave us proof that when we die, we will one day be resurrected from the dead,
just as he was resurrected from the dead.
Christ left evidence behind for us to verify,
so that way we could be more confident than anyone else that we too will live forever.
And by the way, we should just be clear that violence like this is not condoned by all Muslims.
Most of the Muslims that I know don't condone attacks like this.
And even though you can find countless Muslims online thanking their God for this attack,
your average Muslim in the West probably disagrees.
And as for the Christians, at the time of this recording,
the bishop is said to be in serious but stable condition.
So of course, no matter what your views are,
and no matter any theological differences that we might have with the bishop,
let's continue to pray for him while also letting the light of Christ
shine through this entire situation, showing true confidence in Christ and his resurrection.
So let me know your thoughts down below.
We'll talk soon.
