This was day 3 and 4 our Switzerland/France Tour in 2019 and the second & third day in the French Alps which I combined into a single video. We had our hotel in the heart of the French Alps and stayed for three nights to tour the area. Featured roads in this video: M2565 Canyon Road Route de la Vésubie M6102 to La Courbaisse Gorges Supérieures du Cians D28 Clue d'Aiglun Balcony Road Gorges de Daluis Col de la Cayolle Gorge du Verdon Col de la Bonette
So today we're gonna tour the southern alps.
Before we do that i need to change my rear tire so i'm gonna head to the motor store.
It's about 15 minutes from my hotel you can see in the background.
Try to get that tire changed in the morning and then we'll be off on our way.
I gave you all i own put you on this golden throne but i'm a little stronger now
So thomas is trying out a new motorcycle.
He might actually trade that in for his big KTM.
So we were lucky to find a shop that would change my rear tire because the
rear tire has probably another 1000 kilometers to go and we have another 5000 on the tour.
So i'm glad i get a change now because i don't want to end up with a worn tire on the trip.
It's a bit later today than we wanted it to be i think it must be close to
9 30 10 o'clock so we're gonna have a late start today and it's a very very long tour.
So either it's gonna be a very long day or we have to cut it short.
We'll see when we're on route.
Because i'm done cleaning up your mess
Found myself in my regrets
I've become a little stronger now
A little stronger now
You cashed in on my promises
You know i'm too generous
Now i've learned to never help you
Cause i'm done cleaning up your mess
Found myself in my regrets
I've become a little stronger now
A little stronger now
You cashed in on my promises
You know i'm too generous
Since the morning, we've had a few photo stops, but this is the first stop that we've made. We are still in the Georges du Verdun
We just raced up here, we should have taken a break.
Downhill side and then it's back to the hotel, but definitely it's a beer down there.
We are on the downhill slope heading north down the Col de la Bonette.
It's 5.30 now, so the light is really nice and you get an excellent view just going down.
This was a very, very long day for us again, but we got a lot of cool stuff to see.
The Verdun Canyon is definitely a major, major highlight.
That was also very warm and I love this mountain pass, I just love the way it looks, the Col
de la Bonette.
Yeah, it's been a very good day.
We're now heading to the tire store, to the motorcycle shop.
I want to see if we can get Thomas' tire replaced.
It's really hard to gauge how much the tire will wear.
It usually wears more than you think and you really don't want to end up in the middle
of the boobies and with a worn out tire, there's no way to get that fixed.
I think the area we're going to tomorrow is going to be a lot less densely populated.
I didn't find a motorcycle shop there when I was looking on Google.
I'm sure there is one, but we have one right next door to our hotel.
We know where it is.
We know he's got a tire that will fit, so let's try to just get it done today.
Not working.
So this was a very eventful day for us.
Lots of sites on the way, another 450km ride.
That's almost a little too long, to be honest, to ride in the Alpes-Maritimes.
We did it anyway.
We saw the Georges de Vaudan, the Vaudan Canyon, which is really, really nice.
The Grand Canyon of Europe, basically.
Saw some of the smaller passes and then went the other way, counterclockwise, and finished
off with the Col de la Bonette.
Really, really nice pass, especially in the evening light.
It was really, really pretty.
Unfortunately, though, on the way down, Thomas crashed his bike.
Nothing really serious, nothing happened to him.
But he crashed the bike and he's got some damage on the tank and his exhaust pipe.
He's got some scratches.
And the carbon shield.
I think the steering bar is slightly bent.
It still rides, but now we both have bikes that are slightly damaged.
But we can still ride.
Anyway, see you guys tomorrow.
