48 HOURS IN ROME, ITALY VLOG | Trevi fountain, Villa Borghese + staying in The Napoleon’s apartment!

Italy is wonderful
127 followers
We're in the middle of shooting but we decided we wanted to get on these boats.
We're at this really beautiful park, it's called Villa Borghese, we're probably butchering
that pronunciation.
And we're actually here to shoot a campaign.
I've got my captain here, he's sailing the boat and we're trying, the goal is to go to
that, the little, what's it called?
Palace?
The monument, the thing that everyone takes pictures of it.
We're slowly but surely getting there.
True was telling me that this was like, you know, he's a pro at this.
It's very cool.
It's okay, I think we're getting there.
You need to be sitting where I am.
We're currently shooting the H&M studio collection, which is like an Italian inspired vibe, which
is why we picked Rome for this trip.
We're here purely for this campaign and we just got some pictures here.
I'm not sure how they turned out, it is so bright, we can't see anything.
So True's just taking pictures like blindly, not seeing.
We'll just have to see when we get off, but it's such a sunny day, it's like 28 degrees.
It's like a real summer's day, but it's so beautiful.
Got all the boat people, got spectators, and that little palace thing.
Gorgeous.
I actually don't know what that is, but it's so nice because we're in, like you're in the
lake and this is basically the main attraction and it is just really beautiful.
We've just checked into our second hotel, where as you were checking in, and it's actually
like a palace.
We're staying in Napoleon's suite, where he actually lived, and it's a very cool hotel.
So cool.
Small lift.
Good afternoon, guys.
So we've just checked in to this insane suite, we're staying at the Residenza Napoleon III,
and this is actually where the Napoleon lived.
That's what it says when I was reading up on the hotel, and we're literally, we're staying
in this suite.
This whole suite is to ourselves.
It feels like we're in a museum.
It's not like a, I feel like, because once you walk in to the courtyard bit, it feels
like a residential building area.
But there is, because in this building people do live here as well, and I think their rooms
must be the same size.
Like, I can't even say room, because this is not a room, this is like being in an apartment.
It's humongous.
So we're going to do a suite tour.
I'm only staying here for one night, because it is pricey, but we booked this because it
fits the vibe of the campaign that we're shooting for H&M Studio.
It's very, like, Italian palazzo, that kind of aesthetic.
And I saw this hotel, and I thought, you know what, this is like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
to, like, come and stay here for the night.
It's so cool.
The location of where this is is perfect.
We're right in the centre.
I think we're near the Spanish Steps, but we've literally got, like, the Fendi store
opposite.
Literally, downstairs is Fendi, so.
Yeah, but no shopping on this trip, shall we?
Yeah, we're on a shopping van.
We?
You.
Yeah, we.
So this is literally the hallway bit, and it's communal.
And then we have a little room.
A little room?
A little room.
You walk into this room.
And this is the reception, I guess.
This is where we're going to have breakfast.
And they've actually given us some grapes and a snack.
What's this?
This is another seating area with some artwork above it, and then we have two seats here
by the windows.
There are lots of seats.
And then we walk through to this room.
I guess this is, like, for living.
A living room.
I love this bit here, where you have the sofa and just the tapestry behind it.
I really love tapestry.
And actually, if you go up these stairs, there's another bedroom in there.
We don't have access to it, but it's for if you're, like, a whole family was staying here,
you could go in there.
And there's a powder room.
Powder room?
Yeah.
So it's, like, just for little touch-ups.
Ah.
It's a good little toilet.
Just for your guests to use when they come round.
Guest toilet.
Just, like, every corner is perfection.
It really feels like I'm in a museum.
And then we come down the stairs.
You have a desk, which you can do all this editing.
This is the overview of the living room.
This is where we'll be sleeping tonight.
Oh, I've just noticed they've got a monitor up there, so you can...
Look, that comes down.
You can watch a movie.
Oh, my God.
So that's a projector screen.
So it'll come down, and you can watch a movie there.
That is so cool.
But, True, where is the bathroom?
Where could the bathroom be?
This is the bathroom.
It's insane.
I just can't get...
Like, this is how I want to design my house.
With random secret rooms.
I wonder what the water pressure is like.
This is the walk-in wardrobe.
Here's the closet.
And then a kitchen.
If True wants to do some cooking.
Oh, it's a legit kitchen with cookers and stuff.
Yeah, it actually is.
And then a mini fridge.
Yeah.
Yeah?
Let's do it.
We're good.
And we would like it...
We would like it at 8am.
We are committing.
So we can get up early.
Let's see if we hold to that.
So, guys, we're actually heading out now.
I think we finally got the content we needed.
We just spent the whole time shooting.
I can hear some amazing music being played outside, so we want to go out and explore.
The time is 5.45, so we're going to head out and eat.
We actually haven't had anything to eat at all today.
No breakfast, no lunch.
That normally is the case when we're shooting.
We just have time to grab some food.
And we are both very hungry.
I'm going to quickly do my OOTD.
I'm wearing this top from Vivienne Westwood.
I picked this up a while ago, but I just never got to wear it.
And then this is my ByFar bag.
I thought we could tie in the reds.
And then I'm wearing my Jacquemus jeans.
These are some black jeans by Jacquemus.
And then some Alaia ballet flats.
I'm sure you'll see the full fit once we actually leave this suite.
Although, I mean, I'm not complaining about being in this suite all day, because it is
insane.
And also, look what's opposite me.
We literally have the Fendi store right in front of us, and it goes all the way down.
Wow.
Drew is so done with shooting.
I'm hungry.
Wait, let's show the new Laura Perna trousers, because you got them tailored from Tuscany.
Wait, I'm going to need to stand here.
We can do a fit check, because the trousers are finally tailored.
So I went to the New Bond Street Loro to get them tailored.
Are you hungry?
Yeah, you can tell.
Drew is literally no energy.
OK, let's head out and get something to eat.
Playing the violin.
Was it the violin?
The European summer has begun.
The sun is out.
It's warm.
The violin is just so good.
Such happy vibes.
I just feel so happy to be in Rome.
I don't know why we don't come in more often.
I think we are also a little bit delirious, because we are starving.
We haven't had breakfast yet, and it's almost dinner time.
It's 6pm.
We're still a bit high on hunger.
Yeah.
I think we're at that point now.
We're just exploring right now.
We're walking towards the Prairie Fountain, because I want to see the Prairie Fountain
right now.
Guys, we haven't even turned, but we know this is the Prairie Fountain just from the
crowds.
It's so busy.
Yeah, I was going to say.
It's so busy.
This is also busier than when we first came.
Look, these Laura trousers.
The pockets are massive, but it makes it easier to put your hand in and take stuff out.
Guys, this is the first banshee that we've discovered in Rome.
First time we've discovered banshee.
We're getting distracted.
First Codino of the trip.
8.5.
I think we're really hungry.
When a shop has too many flavours, it's not legit.
We don't trust it, so we're going to try and find somewhere else.
Look, it goes all along here, and then also there.
There's so many, and also here.
Flavour overload.
Do you know what I mean?
How can they all be good?
Guys, we take our gelato very seriously.
We've been to about three different shops now.
And the trip is, so if the gelato has lots of peaks and looks really fancy, it's not
good gelato.
Gelato needs to be flat and not fancy.
And the flavours as well, can't be too sporadic.
Because that shop had so many different flavours, ones I'd never heard of before.
So yeah, we're trying to keep it simple and authentic.
The girl that we met, she's from Sweden, it was so lovely to meet her.
She said that the best one she's had so far, she's had one every day, and the best one
she's had is the one that's opposite the Trofanten.
So we're walking back to Trofanten.
I feel like that's the one we had as well.
Are we going this way?
No, straight.
Do you remember last time we came?
I think we did have something that was like that.
Yeah.
I mean, our first gelato was definitely in Rome, right?
What, first ever?
No, first legit one.
That was one of our first trips, wasn't it?
Yeah.
Rome.
When we were 19?
Was it 19 or 20?
Time goes by.
How time flies.
It's still just as busy as it was earlier in the day.
If not busier, actually, because look, that's where we were earlier, and there's so many
people.
So we need to find this gelato place.
She said it was opposite the Trofanten.
But imagine it's close.
This one?
Oh, is it here?
The Gelatus.
Thank you so much.
I've got chocolate and pistachio.
Yes, I've got pistachio, Snickers, and the honey one.
Love it.
The yogurt is so nice.
It's not fake.
I was there.
She needs a little break.
Come on, we have the last step.
Our room's up there.
It's skincare time.
But actually, True could do his skincare routine, because you guys already see my skincare routine
quite a few times.
And someone did comment to see True's skincare routine.
He does have fantastic skin.
My skincare routine is really simple.
In the morning, I wake up, and I just wash my face with water.
And that's it.
Cream on.
SPF on.
And I'm done.
I'm out of the door.
But in the evening, I actually cleanse it with whatever's available in the bathroom.
You mean whatever's available that Nuri bought.
Because I didn't pack any face washes today.
But this is the face wash we always use.
I basically just rely on Nuri's face wash.
This is my skincare routine bag.
Well, skincare bag.
And I only packed a few things in this.
So I've got my Perfect Mess hair clay by Sam McKnight.
Wait, am I doing what's in my bag?
You're doing your skincare.
I'm doing my skincare.
I'm not doing what's in my bag.
I was thinking, why are you showing your hair stuff?
You're doing your skincare routine.
Okay.
Getting distracted.
Start off with the Kiehl's face wash.
It's locked.
Yeah.
It's my first time.
Can you tell?
I can tell.
Oh, so you don't wet it.
Well, I normally do this in the bath, in the shower.
So my face would be wet.
Sorry, guys.
I've been put on the spot.
Filming my skincare routine.
I basically wash my face in the shower.
Every single day.
Now that's done, I'm going to wash it.
Step one done.
Put something in my eye.
Next step, what I normally do is Gua Sha.
I've only been doing this recently.
It's nearly gotten me a Gua Sha.
But the one that she got me actually broke.
So I bought myself a stainless steel one.
So it can't break.
Normally, I use some sort of face oil.
And then I wash it off afterwards.
Use this serum for now.
This one, the Lancome one.
But normally, what oil do you use?
I use rosemary.
Because it also helps with the beard growth.
Yeah, boy. The beard.
Back of the neck.
Whatever this is called.
To open the lymph nodes.
I do this really quickly.
I apply a lot of force.
Because I'm in a rush usually.
This is real time, guys.
I think you're meant to take your time.
But normally, I just do it with nothing.
When I'm lazy.
Because my face is oily already.
So it's nature's oil.
Okay, I'm pretty sure that was 10 per movement.
Then I do the forehead.
Because I am getting wrinkles, guys.
No, you're not.
I'm getting frown lines.
Oh, it's because you frown.
Because I do this a lot.
I believe it helps.
Cool. So that's my gua sha done.
And then, if I'm feeling adventurous.
I would go in with a toner.
This is the one I have with me today.
By REN.
And it's got AHA and all that stuff.
You actually love this one.
But you can't use it every day.
Because it actually burns.
So I only use this probably once a week.
Today was a very hot day.
Felt like my face was greasy.
And picked up a lot of dirt.
So I'm going to tone it today.
Are you judging me?
No.
I'm taking notes.
Make my skincare.
It's good. It's very simple.
But effective.
I feel like the one at night needs to be cleansing.
Because you have pollution from the day.
Built up on your face.
Then you can go into bed clean.
And then the morning one.
Because it's just your natural oils overnight.
Assuming your bed pillows and stuff like that are clean.
You shouldn't need to wash your face.
Personally, I don't wash my face in the morning with any products.
I only wash it with water.
I can't get over that.
Your face cream is here.
And then let that dry.
And then face cream.
I use this one.
Ultra Facial Cream.
I use the same one for day and night.
There's no particular reason why I use the same cream day and night.
It's just I don't have any other.
I guess it does the same thing really.
And that's my night time skincare routine done.
And then during the day, I'm using this SPF.
And this one you like?
Because when I got sent PR for that, you were like, make sure you give that one to me.
Because I like how easy it is to blend.
On a very basic day, it'll be Kiehl's face wash followed by Kiehl's cream.
Those two steps done.
Easy.
Should we show what's my skincare?
These are the products I use.
Okay, I've set mine out.
This is my skincare.
I use my Elemis Cleansing Balm to take my makeup off.
Then I will use the Kiehl's face wash.
Which is not put there because it's not aesthetic.
But we're going to use this.
And then I'll normally use the same brand toner.
And then my Tatcha cream.
That's just a Summer Fridays face mask.
Which I'm going to use tonight.
It's actually a really nice face mask.
It exfoliates your skin really nicely.
But also leaves it glowing and hydrated.
And then this is a lip mask by Tatcha that I'm going to use.
But to be honest, True has much better skin than me.
So maybe less is more.
It's definitely genetics.
I do say this a lot.
I think good skin is definitely genetics.
And also...
Water.
But also like women have more hormonal skin.
Yeah.
So...
Plus you wear makeup which probably clogs your skin and stuff.
So I feel like men in general do have better skin than women.
For many reasons.
Before Nuri, my skincare routine was just...
Water.
But then you did have spots.
I had to help you.
Yeah.
I introduced tea tree into your life.
And then it got better.
Yeah, that fixed my life.
Thank you.
Okay, we need to...
Should we set up the projector?
Can you set up the projector?
So we can watch a movie tonight.
We've got the goods.
This is the kind of food you eat without makeup on.
Because you really need to get in there.
You've got the vegetarian too.
And I added zucchini in there.
So it's got sundried tomato, stracciatella, pistachio cream and the zucchini.
It's very bready.
I think the queue is mainly because people see the queues.
Because that's what we walked past yesterday.
And we saw the queue.
So we were like, let's go there tomorrow.
And...
We followed the trend.
But most people probably did that.
Like they see the queue and they're like, oh, it must be good.
I can see why some people like this.
It's kind of like that bland, Moorish food.
Yeah, I guess it's just not for us.
Crunchy.
Drew is still getting through this.
I'm with...
Six out of ten.
Six?
I'd say five.
I need a drink.
He's still getting through his.
But I couldn't finish mine.
I just put it back in the bag.
It's too much.
It's too much bread for me.
No flavour.
No.
Because do you know what we've had in the UK?
Veloci.
They're so good.
That's what I would think of.
That's what I imagined when I was getting this.
Yeah.
But it's not here.
But the one in London is a lot better.
I need to get one of these.
I think I'm going to start a tradition where I get one every city I go to.
Mandatory after every meal to get gelato.
I got pistachio and yoghurt.
I'm really enjoying having yoghurt as a gelato.
And you went for fruit.
And what did the review you read for this place say, True?
Wait, what was it?
I've never had gelato equal.
Yeah.
It was next to the Pantheon.
Yeah, where actually...
Is this...
Do you think this is the Pantheon?
Yeah, that's it.
Is it?
That's the back of it.
When we were walking towards this place, I said to True, I said, this looks like a historical
building.
So after our gelato, we've got to rinse it down with some bubble tea.
Well, this is the first bubble tea shop I've come across.
True's getting the lime yucca, of course.
I'm going for a mango.
That's a classic.
Can't go wrong.
Guys, they said my feet was hurting, so I came to sit on this bench.
And True got us a bike to take us around the park.
He's come to pick me up.
Come sit.
So guys, we're on the bike.
Exciting.
So it's right next to the hotel, so we're back in the hot tunnel today.
But it's really beautiful, so we want to explore it as much as we can, but I can't walk all
up the steps.
My feet really hurt.
We did, like, lots of walking yesterday.
Do you want me to help you?
Once it gets going, it's electric motor.
Oh, is it?
Oh, no.
This is so much nicer than walking.
It actually is, because you get the breeze.
Guys, I'm wearing my PE kit.
Yeah, he did an outfit change.
Outfit change.
Got the shorts on, comfy trainers on.
This is the first stop.
This very beautiful structure.
Guys, I've decided I'm going to help True cycle.
Of course, and we're going to...
Who's going to take that?
Where are we going?
We're going to some fountain.
Okay.
There's loads of fountains, so...
Here, take your phone back.
Let's go.
Wait.
But True told me this doesn't actually work, so this is just for me to hold properly.
Yeah, just hold.
Ready?
We need to get past this initial...
I don't know why you're staring.
No, I feel like my one doesn't actually do anything, babe.
So this is the Fountain of Seahorses.
It's a very pretty fountain, actually.
I'm basically your tour guide.
Yeah.
You just told me this was the Fountain of Seahorses.
Yeah.
Cool.
Off to the next fountain.
It was actually worth it.
Yeah.
Getting a bike.
Yeah.
It was €12 for an hour for two people.
That's good.
And I think that's plenty of time to do around the whole park.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm living my passenger princess life, even on this bike.
Actually, I did try to help True, but I don't think it does anything.
Yeah, I think it's fake.
Yeah, because I was pushing the pedals, but it didn't feel like anything was happening.
So I think only your one is actually functioning.
I think this is the museum.
This is the villa.
Oh, this is very cute.
You see that?
I just drifted.
Yeah, I'm gripping onto this for security.
I've got Nuri doing the work now, guys.
He's taught me to work.
It's actually all right.
She's working.
Working for that Birkin.
How's the aerodynamics on those Elias?
They're quite good, you know.
You're getting airing out your toes as you go.
Good evening, guys.
I look like a school kid.
You do.
I was literally telling her, this is what I wore in primary school, and I got cussed.
Same thing with shorts and dad sandals.
Well, it's all coming back, True.
It's fashion.
I had all of that in the 2000s.
It rotates, okay?
This is my new Miu Miu top, everyone.
I actually took some cute pics in it today.
We'll insert here, because it was actually really cute.
It was actually really cute, yeah.
The way I styled the outfit, now I'm wearing it with jeans, which is basic, but I actually
styled this in a really cute way, and you'll see the pictures on Instagram.
We're going to end the vlog here, because we're actually going to dinner, and we're
flying back to London tomorrow.
It was a short but sweet 28 hours.
In Rome.
We did a lot, considering the amount of work we had to do.
Yeah.
Most of it was work, and the bits where we weren't working, we tried to vlog for you
guys.
We hope you guys enjoyed this vlog.
We're going to end with the food that we're going to eat, and we'll put a rating on the
screen, so you know if you should come here or not.
Okay.
Also, recommend the Hoxton Hotel.
We really enjoyed staying there.
Yeah, okay.
And the last hotel we're at.
Okay.
Bye.
