If you have bad weather in Switzerland
and you are in my home area
around the Bernese Oberland
you maybe should visit the Aareschlucht.
This is a very nice canyon
in which you can walk and marvel
about the surroundings.
That's what I do today.
So we are walking now
into the Aareschlucht
at the entry west.
The Aareschlucht is 1400 m long
and 200 m deep.
It is perfect in hot summer days
because it is very cool
and it is perfect on rainy days like today.
That's why I show you the Aareschlucht
On rainy days
the Aare river
has of course more water in
and it is more interesting to watch.
Look at the color.
You can explore the Aareschlucht
when you go through diverse tunnels.
They prepared it for the people
so you can explore it
in a very easy way.
It is early in the morning
that's why no one is here
and I am able to film everything.
It is a very wet trip
so maybe you take your raincoat with you
otherwise you will get wet a little bit.
It's impressive, huh?
The air is so fresh here.
It's crazy.
And it's cold.
That's my breath.
It is like a nature meditation.
The Aareschlucht is not open
to the entry east.
I don't know, maybe for security reasons.
So you have to walk back the same way.
But in summer
you can walk through the canyon
the whole way.
Imagine the people who built this.
Not the canyon, but
who built these tunnels
and this path.
How dangerous it was, huh?
See what I mean?
Who built these little cultures over there?
You see them?
It looks like the hearts over there.
Yeah, a little bit.
So wild, isn't it?
So wild.
And wet.
I see people over there.
So maybe you could walk on the east side.
Yeah?
Yeah, maybe they didn't update
the information.
But I have to go back
because Rasta is in the car
eagerly waiting
to go out.
Yeah, I think for a dog it is not
that interesting to walk in the Aaregorg.
You can take the dog with you,
but on the leash.
Yeah.
We go somewhere where he can
run free, right?
So when I visit the Aaregorg,
it is on a hot summer day.
Yeah, when there is 40 degrees outside.
So you have about 15 here.
Or on rainy days.
Because on rainy days
the rocks look totally different.
Yeah, you have more magic in it.
For me.
I have another tip for you.
If you want to be on your own,
go in the early morning.
Yeah, when they just open.
Then you are totally alone.
Huh?
I met one person.
Look at the constructions.
Huh?
Would you dare?
You don't have to worry.
Because it is Swiss quality.
No problem.
A Swiss architect,
they know how to build tunnels
and gorges like this.
Here we are back
in the other world.
Yeah, it is quite summer here.
The temperatures are much higher
than in the gorge.
