Hey, it's Stace here from NextStageTutorials. In this lesson today, you're going to be joining me
for a training session. So, in our normal lesson, I try to help you improve your skating with some
helpful tips and tricks, but in today's lesson, you're going to be following me for a 30-minute
practice session. I'm going to do some skating skills, some jumps, and some spins. So, what are
we waiting for? It's time to follow me. So, it's just turned 8 50 a.m. I'm going to do one lap
around. I'm just getting my feet underneath me. All right, the next exercise I'm going to go do.
All right, my heart rate is pumping, so this is great news. I'm going to keep going. I'm
going to do some more intricate steps just to really get my coordination system going.
All right, now for my last exercise I'm going to do.
All right, so that was about four minutes of me doing exercises around the ice. As you can see,
they are working on our ice. So, if you're wondering what the heck is going on, they are
fixing our barriers and our ice at the moment. Now, I definitely had some issues on some of those
patterns, but what I want to do is always keep going. My three turns were a bit flat and you
can see I like fall out of them, but hey, that's okay because I can do more and more. So, on to
some jumps now. So, before we move on, I want you to click on the link below in the description for
your free PDF guide on the training plan for figure skaters. This is going to help you because
this is exactly what I use today to make me stay organized and according to plan what I need to do.
So, when you are ready to get organized with your skating session, give it a click. All right,
I'm going to do a backspin before I start jumping. All right, my backspin feels pretty good. So,
the jumps that I'm going to be doing today are going to be loop,
flip, and lutz. And I'm going to do about five of each. So, let's go.
Okay, with that loop, I totally felt like I sat too long. So, I'm going to try to stay up a bit
more and just let that edge pull it up. So, my loop jump is actually not feeling that amazing.
So, I'm going to change up my entry just to see if I can get this takeoff right.
Okay, I'm going to change up my entry again because it is still not feeling great. I need
to wait a little bit longer for that edge. That was a little bit better,
but we're going to move on. Now, it is time for my flip jump.
So, I've taken off another jacket. I'm feeling really warm. So, let's change up our entry.
All right, so my flip is actually feeling pretty good this morning. So, I'm going to challenge
myself by putting some more steps before the flip jump. All right, that was not the best flip
jump, but I only gave myself 30 minutes. So, we're moving on to the lutz jump. All right,
so I just did my favorite way to enter a lutz. It is old school. It's the way I grew up. So,
I want to do more new school tradition where the change of edge from that inside to the outside.
Okay, that wasn't good. So, let's try it again. Okay, still not great,
but we're going to try it one more time because this is going to be the third time the lucky charm.
So, this is the reality of skating. Some things work, some things don't.
I'm better at one entry than the other. So, I have now, I've given myself six minutes to do
some spins and I want to do some spreads because I absolutely love spread eagles.
So, let's start spinning now. So, I'm actually done with spinning. I am too dizzy to keep going.
My body doesn't do what it used to do back in the day. So, let's move on to some spread eagles.
All right, it has just hit 920 and I am done with my 30 minute training session.
I was able to hit up some steps, some jumps, and some spins, and some spreads at the end
because they're my favorite thing to do, but you got to see the good and the bad. Sometimes
our practices go amazing and according to plan and other times they don't. The main thing is
that you keep going, keep working hard, and have fun with skating. Thanks for watching
Next Edge Tutorials. I'm looking forward to seeing you in our next lesson.
