I continue to experience beautiful Botswana with Valerie. We still have four days together and it's time to get back on the road. But before, I just need to buy a new gas bottle in Maun and to fill it up. We leave Moremi Game Reserve and we head back South. On our way to the famous Makgadikgadi Pan, we fall in love with the spectacular landscape of Botswana even more. Wild horses, pans, I couldn't resist to fly the drone for the very first time here, in Africa. ENJOY!
Okay I actually put the wrong image at the end of the last episode because I was showing the
famous Makradikadi pan whereas in this episode you won't see it yet. It's my last days with
my friend Valérie. We are slowly leaving Moremian Maun and we are on our way to the Makradikadi
and the route to get there is already full of beautiful surprises. Enjoy!
We spent a total of two days around Moremian game reserve. We played hide and seek with so
many animals. Giraffes, impalas, white beasts, zebras and herds of elephants made this very
first safe drive safari simply unforgettable. Seriously how magical is to be behind the wheel
of your own vehicle to discover the african wildness for yourself. It gives you the freedom
and flexibility to explore any way you like and at your own pace. But keep in mind that
safe drive safaris imply a big responsibility between the way you drive and wildlife. Better
to properly build your knowledge about wildlife behavior because you need to feel confident and
to stay calm in any circumstances. And I promise you these moments will last forever. The mornings
are still very fresh these days and it's not that easy to get out of the tent but today we need to
hurry up a bit. It's very quiet but yesterday we saw one bush baby here on those trees.
Okay let's pack and drive to town now.
Can I have the three kilo cylinder please?
Yeah perfect. And can I have the easy cooker? Is that the only one you have?
Okay. Et voila, there is no gas in the bottle I bought in Turkey anymore. So we are back to
this shop in Mawen and I've just bought the three kilo cylinder Kadak bottle that it needs to be
filled. And I even have an explanation of the process. What's this? It's going to race out.
The new bottle fits perfectly in the load bed and it's now time to hit the road again.
So far I drove around 2500 kilometers since I picked Valérie up in Cape Town airport.
Valérie has four more days with Rafiki and me and we have to leave Mawen to head south again.
Next destination Orapa which is 330 kilometers away. A strategic point to access the unique
still one hour away from Orapa. And now we just saw this little path on the side that we want
to follow. Let's see where it goes but it should lead to a dam where it's important to respect and
follow main tracks only.
Everywhere. Everywhere. The road. The road is my home.
The road. Yeah. And you. Yeah. This is my home here. Bye Raf. Bye.
