whenever a Starship flight ends with an
explosion some people ridicule spacex's
Rockets seeing it simply as a failure
however those with a more positive view
understand that these Journeys are steps
towards incredible achievements Starship
has already accomplished Feats many
Rockets have not and it's aiming for
goals no other rocket has ever reached
you might doubt my statement but it's
something thing Elon Musk himself
highlighted in a recent tweet about
Starship so what are these remarkable
achievements and ambitious goals let's
delve into them in today's episode of
great SpaceX I don't know if you feel
the same way but I'm envisioning
starship's development path to be
similar to that of the Falcon Rockets
nearly 20 years ago SpaceX started with
three failed Falcon 1 flights but what
followed was extraordinary with Starship
the first three flights can't be
completely called failur because each
one provided invaluable experience
leading to significant progress recently
Elon Musk emphasized starship's
achievements and future plans he
specifically stated Starship has already
reached orbital velocity which is a
success for all other Rockets indeed one
of the biggest successes SpaceX achieved
in Flight 3 was helping Starship reach
orbital velocity orbital speed is the
standard a vehicle needs to achieve to
maintain its position in orbit and avoid
falling back to Earth during flight
three after ship 28 separated from
booster 10 it continued toward orbit and
we saw that most of ship 28's operating
time exceeded 26,000
kmph this helped the vehicle reached an
altitude of over 200 km at several
points not only did it reach orbital
speed but Starship also conducted
numerous activities during that time
firstly SpaceX tested the payload door
an important test to prove the
effectiveness of this system in space
laying the groundwork for starship's
future payload deployment plans after
the payload door test SpaceX carried out
another significant test assigned by
NASA known as Tipping Point which
involved transferring propellant from
the header tank to the main tank this
marks spacex's first step towards
building a future ship-to ship refueling
system NASA has confirmed that SpaceX
successfully completed this Mission
initially demonstrating the
effectiveness of fuel Transmission in
orbit sounds easy but in reality it's
incredibly difficult for everyone else
we can see this immediately with a
company that always aims to compete with
SpaceX blue origin after over 24 years
of development this company has not been
able to reach orbit even once despite
having Financial Resources comparable to
SpaceX remember what SpaceX can do is
different from other vehicles the
Starship spacecraft with its massive
size of 50 m long and 9 M wide is the
largest spacecraft to reach orbit to
date that's why Elon Musk described it
as success for all other Rockets
impressive right if you think so please
give us a like share the video and
subscribe to the channel to support the
tremendous efforts of SpaceX and
Starship and to motivate them towards
their future goals and when all is done
it is time for Starship to begin a
journey toward a goal that no other
rocket has achieved full reusability
musk added achieving full reusability
will be profound not for re reasons of
valuation but because it will enable
Consciousness to extend permanently
beyond Earth Starship is certainly not
the first vehicle that can be reused a
few Vehicles did this before like NASA's
Space Shuttle or the Falcon Rockets
SpaceX created but remember these
vehicles have not reached the peak of
full reusability yet for example the
space shuttle can only land and reuse
the space planes and Falcon Rockets can
only reuse boosters and fairings and
that is the premise and opportunity for
SpaceX to become the first vehicle to
achieve full reusability after the
setbacks and Landing the booster and
re-entering the ship in Flight 3 Elon
Musk and his team have proposed plans
for subsequent flights everything will
start with flight four where booster b11
will aim to land on a virtual Tower in
the Gulf of Mexico in my imagination the
virtual Tower Landing will be similar to
previous vertical Landing Maneuvers but
it will be more challenging as the
landing location will be precisely
determined instead of just Landing
anywhere for the ship Elon Musk has set
a goal of surpassing the max heating
re-entry stage and then splashing down
into the ocean once successful on flight
four SpaceX will aim to return both the
booster and ship to Star base and land
them using the mechazilla arm this is
planned for booster in Flight 5 and the
ship in flight 6 yes flight six will be
when SpaceX lands both stages with the
megazilla r marking the first fully
reusable milestone in the history of the
Aerospace industry and we all understand
the benefits of full reusability firstly
it will greatly reduce production costs
this will allow SpaceX to allocate funds
to other systems such as building
infrastructure on Mars lower costs will
significantly decrease Starship launch
expenses enhancing the Rockets
competitiveness besides Financial
savings time will also be optimized this
includes time spent on producing and
testing new prototypes more importantly
turnaround times will be significantly
reduced because fully reusable Rockets
will not require extensive refurbishment
before their next flight this could
enable SpaceX to launch thousands of
Starships per year far outpacing all
other vehicles but the benefits don't
stop there for Elon Musk the reasons of
valuation are not the ultimate goal of
full reusability his vision is to extend
human consciousness to eternal life
beyond Earth which he often refers to as
interplanetary life so how will full
reusability so how will fully reusable
Rockets affect that Prospect allow me to
explain since the Aerospace industry
emerged every Mission Humanity has
conducted no matter how far it has
reached has not been able to achieve
permanent life in space we've only flown
in explored for a short time and
returned but in the current Space Race
everything is set to change we won't
just visit the moon we'll build the
first moon base musk's vision goes
beyond reaching Mars he wants to
establish a city for a million citizens
on the red planet this new era will
require an increase in the frequency of
space flights specifically travel
between Earth and the moon or Mars bases
will need to be reliable and sustainable
an Expendable vehicle simply does not
meet this requirement they must be fully
reusable Rockets such a vehicle will
revolutionize how we think about space
exploration fostering greater confidence
in our ability to establish new
civilizations beyond Earth but to
achieve these Visions SpaceX and
Starship will need to overcome many
challenges ahead for the orbital goals
SpaceX must maintain and improve upon
what they accomplished in flight three
specifically these steps from loading
fuel activating the engines launching
and separating the two stages must all
be stable and reliable after separation
the ship's engines need to function well
to ensure the vehicle reaches and
operates stably in orbit if reaching
orbit is challenging returning safely is
even more so the booster will need an
effective combination of navigation and
deceleration capabilities supported by
git fins and engines on the next flight
this process will still occur over the
ocean however even when close to the
goal the previous attempt failed due to
issues with the b10s engine in the
future boosters will face an
unprecedented challenge Landing with the
mechazilla arm this will take place on
land involving numerous risks and
requiring very high Precision spacex's
journey toward full reusability is
crucial for their ambitious plans and
each flight brings them closer to
redefining space travel and Exploration
with the ship everything will be even
more challenging as it will have to
endure an extremely harsh re-entry
process with temperatures exceeding
1500° C during this process the heat
shield system will play the most crucial
role protecting the ship from the
immense heat however the heat shield
remains an unresolved issue from the
previous three flights next the engine
and flap systems must coordinate
effectively for navigation deceleration
and Landing like the booster the ship
will land in the ocean for at least the
next two flights after that it will be
returned to Starbase and caught by the
mechazilla arm mirroring its companion
this this will be an extremely difficult
and risky operation the beginning of
these challenges will be flight four
scheduled to take place in the next few
days will it be successful let me know
your thoughts in the comments section
Down Below in any case SpaceX continues
to revolutionize the Aerospace industry
with unprecedented achievements risks
and challenges will not deter them
instead they serve as motivation to
further develop and enhance the
greatness of the Miracles they create
flight four is Drawing Near possibly
marking the realization of musk's
orbital and reuse objectives now more
than ever we should consider ourselves
fortunate to be living in this
remarkable era let's remember this as it
will undoubtedly become a significant
story to share with future Generations
about the extraordinary organization and
Rocket SpaceX and Starship well folks
that's about it for today's episode
thank you so much for tuning in and as
always this has been Kevin from great
SpaceX and until next time keep looking
up back in my day we saw a big old
rocket shoot up into the sky and the
whole thing came back down I think
that's how the conversation is going to
go in the future
