Steamed snails with aniseed leaves, snail vermicelli, and flower roll salad.
These are the specialties of the South,
which are on display at the 2024 U.S. Waterfront Expo in Noi Do, Nhu Loc, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
This is the first year that the Expo model has been re-released in the city center of Ho Chi Minh City.
The Expo will be held continuously for 9 days, from January 1st to June 9th, 2024.
The Expo will be held from 9am to 10pm every day.
Tourists will receive their tickets at the gate at No. 1 Hoang Sa,
which includes a train ticket combo and 3 meals on the boat,
priced at about 200,000 VND per person.
Tourists will move on the boat from District 3 or District 1,
along the Nhu Loc Canal to see the scenery on both sides of the canal.
Then, the boat will stop at the floating area for tourists to shop and eat.
A ticket combo includes a train ticket, which includes a train insurance,
plus 3 tickets.
One is a main course, a dessert, and a drink.
You can choose what you want to eat and drink,
and it will be served directly on the boat.
Chefs will line up at 7 boats along the Nhu Loc Canal
so that you can meet and choose your food.
The menu will be displayed on the boat,
so that you can choose and order your food.
You can enjoy the food and enjoy the scenery.
To avoid turning a food festival into a fried fish festival,
the three organizations invited Chef Do Hoang Long,
Vice President of the Young Vietnamese Chefs Association,
to come up with a menu and design dishes with a southern color.
Chef Hoang Long and his colleagues and volunteers
made up to 15 delicious dishes,
such as duck noodle soup, fish noodle soup, southern beef noodle soup,
kumquat cake stir-fried with tamarind sauce,
and a variety of snails.
In this event, I want to share with you
the culture of eating snails of the South.
There are many colors to experience,
and there are many special flavors.
In such a menu, there will be 3 boats.
Chef Hoang Long has prepared,
arranged, and served the food.
He also shared how to serve young people,
students, and volunteers.
The boat will serve the menu for 10 days in a row.
The three organizations plan to welcome 1,000 to 1,500 guests each day
and increase the time to the end of the festival.
Boats are operated by Nhu Loc Boat Company,
ensuring safety when visiting the waterway.
With 7 boats,
each night is 30 minutes.
On average, each 30-minute trip,
there are about 60 to 80 guests on board.
The number of boats in each boat is
from 4 to 6 guests.
The big boat is from 20 to 25 guests.
Therefore, each guest will have a specific number of boats.
On the first day of the festival,
My Vi Floating Market Festival
takes place on Nhu Loc Boat Company.
It attracts a lot of people and tourists
for its freshness and liveliness.
This trip is organized very skillfully.
When I feel like I'm on this boat,
in the middle of Nhu Loc Boat Company,
it's very cool.
I was impressed by the snail noodles.
The sauce is very special.
Traveling on the river is a special feature
in Ho Chi Minh City and Southern provinces.
The organization hopes that
if the My Vi Festival is successful,
people and tourists will love it
and will try to maintain it
and organize it regularly every month.
As the destination of the tourism office,
when inviting Santani Company to participate,
we hope that it can be changed once a month.
There are about 80 tourism companies in the city
that will work together to connect to bring guests home.
In addition to the food space on the boat,
the My Vi Floating Market Festival
also has a space on the side of Nhu Loc Canal
with a space for souvenirs,
where toys are displayed
made from coconut leaves,
jewelry made from coconut shells
for customers to buy as souvenirs,
or green experience space
with jewelry,
decorative items in the house
such as fruit pots and tools
from home-made materials.
