Here is a list of the 10 best Premier League players in the attactive, creative midfield position.
The criteria for this list are midfielders that are generally playing centrally between the lines of the striker and central midfielder.
I will be judging their players based on their stats, impact on the field and their importance to their team.
So here goes the list.
Starting off the list at number 10, we have Brighton's underrated playmaker, Pascal Gros.
Gros is now 32 years old and he's in his 7th season at Brighton.
He finished last season with 9 goals and 8 assists and this season he's got 4 goals and already 10 assists.
Gros plays a high-pressing, intensity style of football.
He has great ability on the ball, he can dribble, create chances and score goals.
And he seems to be getting better with age.
Gros comes in at number 10.
At number 9, it is Ross Barkley.
He's had a career resurgence at Luton, who signed him on a free transfer.
Many thought Barkley was washed up as a player, but he has carried Luton and added that magic touch that's helped Luton compete against the relegation rivals.
There's even talks of him getting back into the England squad.
So far he's got 3 goals and 3 assists.
Now this may seem low, but it's his influence on the team, like Luton, that earns him extra praise and brings him number 9 on my list.
At number 8, I've got Eberici Eze of Crystal Palace.
Not easy being the main attacking force for a club in the lower half of the Premier League table, but Eze carries Crystal Palace.
They give him the ball to create magic and Eze does that with his brilliant dribbling abilities and scoring abilities.
He's got 10 goals last season with 4 assists and this season he's got 6 goals with only 1 assist.
Now Eze is a great attacker and great goalscorer, but he does need to improve on his playmaking abilities to be considered one of the best attacking midfielders.
So he's at number 8.
Coming in at number 7, it is Bruno Fernandes of Man Utd.
One of the most divisive players in the Premier League, Man Utd fans love him, rival fans hate him.
But on his day, Fernandes is one of the best attacking midfielders in the league.
This season he hasn't been great, but Fernandes still has great passing ability, vision, creativity and scoring ability.
His goal output was something amazing about him in his early years at Man Utd.
But since then, the goal outputs have gone down and so has the assists.
Last season he finished with 8 goals and an assist and this season he only has 3 goals and 6 assists.
And it's one of the main reasons why Man Utd are playing badly, that the fact that they can't get the best out of Bruno Fernandes.
And that's why it's a worrying time and that's why it lands Bruno Fernandes so low in my list.
Coming in at number 6, it is Liverpool's Dominic Sobozlai.
Liverpool fans are in love with this player and for good reason, as he has potential to be one of the best number 10s in the league.
He has great first touch and a wonder of a right foot.
He also has very good vision and passing range.
He's still adjusting to playing for an intense club like Liverpool and an intense league like Premier League.
But once it all clicks, Sobozlai will become more and more influential and one of the best attacking midfielders in the league.
At number 5, I've got Lucas Paqueta of West Ham.
It was a surprise when he first signed for West Ham because of how good he was at Lyon.
But West Ham had the £50m to buy him and he's been their best player ever since they signed him.
Paqueta has amazing ball control and can retain possession in tight spaces.
He has amazing vision and passing range, which was evident when he set Bowen up for the last-minute goal to win the Europa Conference League last season.
Paqueta fitted in the Premier League so well because of his talent, but also of his incredible work rate and the fact that he helps out in defence.
So Paqueta comes in at number 5.
At number 4, it is Tottenham Hotspur's attacking midfielder, James Maddison.
He has epitomised Angelo Posicoglou's style of play and he's Tottenham's main man that starts all the attacks.
Before his long injury during the winter period, Maddison was arguably the most informed player in the Premier League.
He registered one goal and two assists in his first three games with Tottenham and he was voted August Premier League Player of the Month.
Even in a match against their rival's Arsenal, Maddison came up with the clutch moments and provided two assists for Tottenham to equalise.
Maddison is only going to get better and better while playing for Tottenham and playing in the system under their new manager
and he'll become more influential as they get more better players around him.
So he comes in at number 4.
At number 3, we have Phil Foden of Man City.
It's hard to believe Foden is still only 23 years old.
That is how impactful he has been from a young age.
He often is cited as the most naturally gifted English footballer in a very long time.
At a time when City were full of superstars, Foden was the only academy player that was able to break in,
establish himself as not only just a City starting XI player but one of their best players.
Foden had trouble finding his best position because Guardiola loves using him everywhere
but that's a credit to Foden's adaptability and ability in football.
So whether it's on the wing or central, Foden is one of the best attacking midfielders in the league.
He can find the right pass, make the right dribbles
and even this season he's come alive and he's scoring goals plenty
and he's arguably been Man City's best player this season
which is a hard thing to do because of how many great players they have.
Coming in at number 2, it is Arsenal's captain Martin Odegaard.
What a redemption arc for Odegaard.
The one 16-year-old prodigy that flopped at Real Madrid and redeemed his career at Arsenal.
He truly had his breakout year last season in his first full season as Arsenal captain.
Playing at the heart of Arsenal's midfield, Odegaard is a creative genius with his feet.
With slick passes, slick skills, slick dribbling, slick everything,
he's known for his amazing technique on the wall,
he's got a great range of passes and he's just an all-round amazing playmaker.
Last season Odegaard scored 15 league goals which is a remarkable feat for a midfielder.
He also contributed with 7 assists.
Odegaard is only reaching his prime years now.
He signed a new contract at Arsenal,
so Arsenal and Premier League will get to watch him as he reaches his prime years
and he's only going to get better and it's an exciting time to be an Arsenal fan
because of their captain.
So Odegaard comes in at number 2.
At number 1, it's a no-brainer.
It's none other than one of the greatest players to ever grace the Premier League, Kevin De Bruyne.
De Bruyne is now 32 years old.
He's in his 9th year in the Premier League as a Man City player
and although he may not be as explosive, as fast as he used to be,
De Bruyne is still the best attacking midfielder in the league, hands down.
Odegaard at number 2 is closing down on De Bruyne
but admittedly he's nowhere near De Bruyne yet.
De Bruyne was integral last year in helping Man City do a historic treble.
He's gone even better since Erling Haaland signed for Man City
and he just absolutely puts the goals on the plate for Haaland to bury.
De Bruyne finished last season with 32 league games,
scoring 7 goals and providing incredible 16 assists.
This season he's missed most of it because of injury
but he's now back just in time for Man City as they go for all the titles,
all the cups and no doubt De Bruyne is going to have a big say in everything Man City do well.
So that was my list.
De Bruyne came in at number 1.
