Atlanta Braves

Everything has gotten better
than expected here for Ronaldo
Lopez and what the Atlanta
Braves had planned for him
giving him that opportunity to
be in the rotation you can see
that era got a great matchup
today with two of the best in
the game.
But Ronaldo Lopez I'm not going
to say he's been the biggest
surprise but to this level what
he has accomplished has been
pretty impressive so far this
season.
I don't think anybody saw it
coming.
What's up Perez.
Rookie leaves off for Detroit
back from the left side balls
cranked to left field and that's
down for a base hit.
It's a two to slider and Perez
Perez is on to lead off the
ballgame.
Colt Keith stands in from the
left side.
First pitch he sees he sends out
to Celtic and Jared Celtic
reels it in one away and with
one down and one on and no score
Riley Green comes to the plate.
Perez runs throw down to
seconds not even close Wenzel
Perez stole that off of Ronaldo
Lopez.
He did.
He got a really good jump and
Ronaldo Lopez took a little bit
of time looking good there.
Once again got Riley Green to
go up top.
Still got the runner on its
second two away and now the
cleanup hitter Mark Canha
swinging a miss Lopez got it
back to back strikeouts to end
the top of the first Tarik
Scoble will try to quiet them
down as the Tigers really have
throughout the series just four
runs for Atlanta and will the
Tigers ace have a win in the
cards for Detroit on the way
out.
Jared Celtic back at the top of
the order for Atlanta.
Jared Celtic fly ball left field
Akeel Badu is back warning track
to make catch on another windy
day here at the ballpark.
It's blowing left to right and
there is one away.
Ozzie had a big solo home run in
the eighth inning of game one.
One to ride through the right
side.
There's a single for Ozzie
Albies with one out control not
good here to Ozuna and the
Braves have something brewing in
the first.
And now Matt Olsen digs in from
the left side second base side
and Colt Keefe makes the catch.
I wonder I wonder what if that
ball does drop you're probably
not going to get to but you
might get everybody running
around like third grade soccer
defense.
Austin said a great homestand
adding five hundred with three
home runs and eight driven in
low inside and hit him.
Where did that catch him.
So Scoble throw one up inside at
the face of Marcelo Zuniga and
he hits Riley here base is
loaded.
So an opportunity here Tarek
Scoble has not been put in many
of these situations this year on
the ground a shortstop McKinstry
deep in the hole.
Let's have a rap.
God damn it is gymnastically
saves the inning for Scoble a
guy that doesn't play that often
over at first base just came up
with a wonderful scoop to
hopefully get Tarek Scoble out
of this inning ruling on the
field stands the runner is out.
Yes that is truly a brilliant
athletic play by Andy Ibanez and
McKinstry to get it there.
I'm third of the order for
Atlanta here starting with
Murphy.
A swing look pretty good right
there for Sean Murphy takes a
knuckle curve out to left field
for a single one down to Ramone
Laureano coming up Laureano gets
his first hit off of Scoble.
Good timing to one with one out
here in the second inning for
Atlanta.
He just telegraphed the heck out
of that change up.
And by that I mean he kind of
slowed his leg kick and delivery
down and sent a little message
to Ramone that something off
speed was coming and he nailed
that change up to two popped up
on the infield and that's the
infield fly rule out number two
as Keith comes in.
All these a single last inning
now a chance here in the second
to left field by do over he
won't get there.
Braves are going to grab the
lead in the second inning.
Ozzie all these with an RBI
single one to nothing talk about
attacking Tarek Scoble early.
Obviously that was a curveball
that was in the middle of the
plate when he has gotten hurt
especially against good lineups.
It was regardless of pitch type
in its balls in the middle of
the plate.
Dangerous hitter at the plate
Austin Reilly is that thing
going to drop.
But who comes a long way but he
can't glove it.
Austin Reilly is going to go to
second and have a double third
double of the series for Reilly.
That's a beauty right there
because it looked like Boudou
had this baseball he had gotten
there and laid out.
Wasn't a great route but he got
there.
And in the glove and yeah the
ground caused the fumble.
He couldn't quite squeeze it.
So Reilly in scoring position
and now Adam Duvall wave and a
miss strike three.
He went back to the breaking
ball in the zone.
He got the swing and miss and
there are two down.
Now this will be interesting to
see how he pitches Murphy.
He gave up a base hit on an
off speed pitch his last time
around.
Let's see if he just tries to
blow him away.
Now Reilly still out at second
base one two from Scoble lifted
to right center field.
That baby is gone.
With a match and it has a three
to nothing lead in the third.
Yeah it's a change up that just
stays up and out over the plate.
Sean Murphy does a good job of
staying back behind it hitting
it hitting it's where it's
pitched and ends up hitting that
home run to right center field.
If that ball's down I think
that's it's again it's not the
pitch selection.
It was just probably not located
where Terrence Scoble would have
wanted.
So a pair of singles two on it.
And now here's Badou Laureano
over so Badou hits it well
nothing to show for it and the
Tigers strand to to the home
half of the fourth Atlanta
enjoying a three to nothing lead
first pitch off the bat of
Laureano is lifted to left
center field and Ramone Lora has
his first homer in a Braves
uniform and it's four to nothing.
He got a hold of that one for
twenty six.
That was fun to watch.
Ninety five on our fastball that
he turns around at one hundred
and six and Laureano's dealt
with some injuries and some lack
of production over the last
couple of years.
But when he has been healthy
early in his career he has been
special.
Scoble has made it at least five
innings in every start this
season.
But the Braves threatening to
knock him out a little earlier
four to nothing lead to one.
And now look at the throw to
third is wide as he was going to
steal it anyway.
But then Scoble will get charged
with an air Ozzie will score and
it's five to nothing.
That's tremendous timing.
You get a guy who is rattled a
little bit and especially when
you have the left handed
pitcher.
If you're going to try to steal
third it's a little bit easier
to do it against lefties.
Likely the last inning here for
Lopez trying to finish off
another fantastic outing.
He has shined in a lot of ways
has Ronaldo Lopez this year.
B.O. Eighty two batting average
against with runners in scoring
position and teams have had
opportunities.
He has shut them down.
He'll try to do it again here
with Canada Bader.
He got him right there.
Denny's can argues but he has no
argument.
He's done some frozen pizza to
finish off the afternoon for
Mr. Lopez.
He's been sensational all year
for Atlanta.
Start to the fifth inning for
Atlanta.
Here's one of the day's heroes
from earlier.
Sean Murphy's two for two.
This ball is hit high and deep
to left.
Murphy has left the building
again to run homers for the
Braves catcher and Atlanta has
opened it up.
It's seven to nothing.
But do is the batter.
All the way out to Matt Olsen.
It's also a strikeout by the way
that's of even more importance
and bummer just a single and
nothing else at the top of the
set.
One down a Marconi coming up
ground ball to third backhand
and pick up by Riley off
balance throw to first dugout on
a short hop by Olsen.
Great play both sides.
Two down to pitch and he blows
it by him.
Urshela is down Hernandez with a
really nice one two three top of
the two away.
Here in the night.
Ozzie's got it.
A sweep and a shutout to finish
off the homestand seven to
nothing the final and a great
homestand.
It was after that rough road
trip that they had the three
city trip.
