If you're looking for ways to add more nutrition to your diet
then this beet and carrot juice is perfect for you.
Hi my name is Cynthia and welcome back to my channel.
Fall is here and that means cold weather and flu season are here as well.
So today I will share with you this easy beet and carrot walnut shot recipe.
So for this recipe we will need beets, carrots,
So first of all I like washing my produce in vinegar and water mixture.
So all you do is grab a bowl of water and then
add a splash of white vinegar into the water
and then just scrub your veggies especially the beets and carrots.
Beets are considered a superfood because of all the impressive list of vitamins
and minerals in it. Beets are particularly rich in folate
which helps cells grow and function. It also helps with growth, development
and heart health. Beets have great amount of nitrates which
has a blood pressure lowering effect. Nitrates are also great in enhancing
athletic performance. I love adding carrots to fresh juices
because they add a little bit of sweetness in addition to its health
benefits. Carrots contains many nutrients
including beta-carotene and antioxidants.
Carrots are a good source of several vitamins and minerals
especially biotin, potassium and vitamin A
which promotes good vision. So for this recipe we will also add a couple of
apples to add sweetness and finally some ginger root which is
full of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Ginger also helps reduce oxidative stress
which results from having too many free radicals in the body
and finally some lemon to add extra vitamin C in the mix.
Rough chop the veggies to make sure that they fit inside your juicer.
I have made a beetroot recipe using a blender instead of a juicer
and I will link that video in the description below.
You can either chop the beets without peeling but I like doing the extra steps
and just peeling before slicing. Beets contains pigments called betalains
that is why they are so vibrant and red. Betalains provide antioxidant,
anti-inflammatory and detoxification support.
Then slowly add all of your vegetables into the juicer
except for the lemon which we will add later.
So what I'm using here is a perfect juicer for beginners.
I will link this in the description box below.
After juicing everything, squeeze in one lemon into the mix
to add extra vitamin C in the mix. Vitamin C is not only a rich source of
antioxidant, it also helps your body make collagen for your skin.
It also helps your body absorb iron and it helps support your immune system.
And then transfer everything in small shot glass containers like what I have
here. These glass bottles are perfect for an
everyday wellness shot. It comes with this cute funnel here as
well so it's easy pouring in the juice without making a lot of mess.
So I pretty much made seven to eight little containers of this
which is a perfect prep for the week. This can last up to seven days in the
fridge and 30 days in the freezer. Just make sure not to freeze the juice
in the glass bottle because they will break.
You can pretty much take this any time of the day but
I recommend taking it early in the morning
because it will help give you a little boost of energy.
