An encounter with magnificent landscapes. The most beautiful lake in Morocco? And above all tons of beautiful encounters: - Souyane for his welcome @soufyane_moundir - Yassine for sharing his inspiring story @bicycle_nomad_yassine - Ismail & Amine for their good advice and company in Midelt @smaorides7978 @smaorides and @aminejouad Here we are at one of the most beautiful lakes in Morocco! Aguelmam Azigza (which means "green lake") is a natural lake located east of the city of Khenifra in Morocco, about twenty kilometers as the crow flies. Located in the great cedar forest of Ajdir n-Izaïane, it is part of the Khénifra national park. We feel too good in the middle of nature and we decide to explore the surroundings of Khenifra National Park and the surroundings of Lake Aguelmam Azigza with Sofyan. We take a hike heading north to go around the lake completely. Back at the camp, we meet Yacine, a Sahrawi bicycle traveler (inhabitant of Western Sahara). We sit around the fire and Yacine then tells us his life story. The next day we leave through the majestic cedars, our goal for the day, reach the city of Midelt to find a mechanic. We take a magnificent track and we think it is the P7306 which passes through Ajdir and Zaida! During this journey of 3 hours for 120km, Falkor will really worry us. These heart murmurs will become more and more regular. Finally, we arrive in Midelt around 1 p.m. and look for something to do good to our stomachs, while quickly posting on Facebook groups of motorcycle travelers (trailer Morocco, bitumen and track and GSFR) the symptoms of our dear GS. Suddenly, during the meal, the phone is agitated and here we are with tons of answers. So we set off from Midelt and drive south-east to reach the Grand Atlas and the Ziz Valley.
Bon, on était où déjà? Where was it?
In the last episode, we lived a long day full of emotions.
After our first fall in the Genifra National Park,
on its way back to le lac d'Aghelmam Azegza
And Falkor was starting to worry us by jumping and practically falling in the middle of the roads.
We decided to make the ostriches while waiting to arrive in a city.
For the moment, we're rolling up to the lake for a nature bath in this majestic cedar forest.
There, Soufiane and her family welcomed us.
And it's exhausting that we're sleeping in our tent under the starry vow.
The next day, while having breakfast in this magnificent setting,
I decided to stay and discover the surroundings.
Here, as you can no longer see soon,
The typical breakfast is a beautiful pain galette.
Made by women in the evening of April or the same morning
that you soak in a bowl of olive oil
We're gonna make it a little customised to our sauce with a little herbs and spices.
Which are soon finished.
I think I got the idea for the video a little late.
And especially accompanied by a small mint-a-chai.
It's too good.
And then we traumatize everybody because we ask sometimes without sugar
Because it's a little too sugary.
Du coup, we tell him what we're drinking, le thé sec.
The second.
On request of the blazucar.
If possible, in front of the clinic, a forest of cedars and oaks.
And our little tent right next to it.
We're sitting too well in the middle of these big cedars.
and just above us, in the forest,
may observe the tonnes of monkeys
Who get excited every time you walk past them to go to the bathroom.
And I'm sitting here quietly trying to find a place to go to the bathroom.
A little later in the morning,
Sofiane returns to see us and we decide to leave the three.
For a little stroll on the heights of the lake.
On the Monte Pendent 45 minutes and arrive at the summit.
Whoa!
The view is crazy!
Shooting photo obligatory
And we continue our route towards a second point of view.
And wow!
Second shot!
And on continue the rando en partant towards le nord
to make a complete tour of the lake.
It must pass fast enough because
Right there, there are some stones that are really in balance.
Very, very precarious.
On your way.
The return is a little more abrupt,
But it's a pleasure to exchange with Sofiane.
And to share our dreams and his.
On a des singes au dessus de notre tête. It was a great day.
We're going to eat the tagine with the monkeys over our heads.
Yes, that's clear.
Back to the tent,
Check Falkor quickly to see if he has any more gas problems.
On cleaning the pre-filters,
Then let's check the air filter.
On discovering the bottom of the oil box that had to be reassembled from the engine,
Maybe due to the fall or maybe the high temperatures of the last few days.
We're not experts in mechanics as you can see.
On this old oil sponge and pour test the beast,
I'm going to improvise a little motorcycle ride at the foot of the lake.
Les buts du tour,
I'm going to find a magic plant.
And see if we're ready to trade Falkor for a donkey.
Are you ready for a new journey?
That's it!
We were going too fast with Falkor.
On vous announcement,
on a trouvé-ane-corps.
But I'll have to cut off his legs.
Because he's not going to move very fast.
Vincent looks like he's come out of a cave.
Look at his hair!
He's as hairy as my destroyer.
He looks like Hagrid in Harry Potter.
Oula!
The sheep, the donkeys and Vincent.
We need you to call Vincent.
Will you help us call him?
Il cherche des fleurs pour se soigner, that is great.
I've been having a little eczema for a few months.
No, finally, a few years.
And then there's this, it looks like a magic plant.
I'm going to rub it all over you.
No, you're going to rub yourself.
I'll rub myself all by myself.
Well, there's a donkey who wants to make friends with Falkor, it's a shame.
Back at the camp, he meets Yassine, a cyclist from Saharaoui.
On him lend our power bank to recharge his phone
And later in the evening, he invites us to drink tea with him.
We sit around the fire and Yassine tells us his story.
One fine day, when he was a child and still living in the Western Sahara,
Yassine is angry with his family.
The boy then ran away from the family home.
On the way out of his village, the latter fell on a strange unidentified object.
A cyclotaurist stands before him with a big scotch smile on his face.
It's 40 degrees and this funny man is sweating like a boob in the sun.
Yassine wonders, how can he look so happy?
He's intrigued and trying to understand what he's seeing for the first time in his life.
The seed is planted and his dream begins to be born.
He wants to be happy like this man.
Conscious of the barriers that his relatives might impose on him,
He decides to keep his dream a secret for years.
As time goes on, Yassine grows up, studies and starts working.
It's good, he has the money to buy his first bike.
He finds the matos of Okaz and realizes his dream.
The first pedal strokes are launched and his mission to explore Morocco by bicycle is underway.
Inspiré comme jamais, on écoute ce récit avec attention (Inspired as ever, on écoute ce récit with attention)
And watch this man from the desert realize his dream.
It's touching and inspiring.
And after having shared a tagine with him and Soufiane,
We lie in our tent with stars full of eyes and even more above us.
The next day, we get up early to finish our business and say goodbye to our new friend.
We said goodbye to Hassan, the father of Soufiane,
And we start east of the lake by a magnificent path that zigzags through the majestic cedars.
But today, we're going to the town of Midelt to find a mechanic-gastro-antherologist.
to solve the gas problems of Falkor.
At the moment when I write these few lines hidden in a Berber house in the middle of the valley of Ziz,
It's one of the most beautiful routes we've taken since the beginning of our voyage.
Varied, simple, dizzying, and very beautiful.
If our memories are good, we think it's the P7306 that passes through Achdir and Zaïda.
And really, if you're in the corner, don't miss it.
If you'll excuse us for a moment, we'll eat our food.
On test la caméra parce qu' il y a tellement de secousses on this magnificent piste
That all of a sudden it made an error message like it had disconnected the camera from the box.
So inchallah, it works.
There we are in a good montée, so...
And for the little joke, it's like I told you earlier,
I'm writing this text from the valley of Ziz but we're so slow to release our videos while traveling.
We'll record the voice off in Sierre in a closet and finish the montage in Geneva.
In short, you are here to preview the temporal failures of our voyage.
During this three-hour ride for 120 km, Falkor will really worry us.
His souffles au coeur will be more and more regular.
Fortunately, the motorcycle didn't heat up during the journey but we sent it over the razor wire.
Well, there's a Falkor who's doing us again des souffles au coeur so there's another 11 kilometres to go.
Thanks to the beauty of the landscape, we've forgotten all about the mechanics.
Cross your fingers, finally!
We arrive in Midelpe at about 1 p.m. and look for something to do good to our stomachs.
While posting quickly on the motorcycle travelers' Facebook groups the symptoms of our dear GS.
Suddenly, during the meal, the phone is ringing and we're here with tons of answers.
This benevolent intercourse between travelers is magnificent.
And we take this opportunity to thank you for helping us when we needed it.
The coincidence is that next to the rest, we find a garage truck, car and motorcycle.
On repousse depuis quelques temps the life of Falkor
Therefore, I am taking advantage of this accessibility and facility to make this simple maintenance.
So we decided to postpone the analysis of the symptoms of the souffles au coeur de notre chère monture.
I hope his final diagnosis is right and that he won't snap his fingers in the desert.
No, at least a better engine.
And then, I think we'll try moistening it in cold water and putting it in the shade more often.
On the poster full of questions on the Facebook groups of BM, BM800, etc.
So I'm getting a lot of answers from people who have had problems like we just had.
But girls, a priori, there is no real answer.
There's a ton of different possibilities.
So we're gonna test them one by one and in 18 episodes, we'll have the answer.
- Yes, you did.
The next day, I received a message from Ismail aka SmileRide on Insta.
He's with his friend Amine 5 minutes from our inn.
So we meet in a café to exchange with these passionate and exciting travelers
Which gives us valuable information for the maintenance of Falkor.
And frankly, thanks to these guys, we've learned so much more about our little Falkor.
Thank you guys!
After the GS photo session, our paths parted and we went to the filling.
There, we see an GS 800 arrive and we make the acquaintance of Alex,
A Norwegian traveling with his GS Adventure for 3 years.
We start talking and we realize that the same evening, we're supposed to be at the same place.
- What's the matter?
We wanted to leave early in the morning, it's 3pm and we arrive at the hottest time of the day.
No worries, these beautiful encounters are really worth the trouble.
On se met donc en route et en route direction le sud-est The route is to be followed by a road to the south-east
The main objective of the project is to reach the Grand Atlas and the Assise Valley.
What we call a counter-time, could it not rather be called a gift of time?
Because if you think about it, the changes in programme are often there
To get us where we really need to be, don't you think?
It is in these moments that we measure the importance of the support we have for one another.
That visible or invisible link that connects us all to allow us to move forward.
But that's another story.
