We will be touring Mexico in our van for the next several month... after that, we venture into Central America as we continue our journey around the world in a van! In Episode 8, we go out and see the baby gray whales up close and personal... we even get to touch one when she comes to the boat to play! Plus, Laredo is an amazing Mexican Coastal Town! Come along with us as we embark on Van Vida En Mexico!
Good morning everyone. So last night we stealth parked in the city streets of Laredo and
it's actually a pretty quiet and a pretty nice spot. We're in this, by this little city plaza
here. So there's a vegan restaurant here and up here there's a hotel and a brewing company. So we
had pizza and burgers there last night which I know is probably sounds strange
having that in Mexico. The tacos and the food has been great. I was just craving some french
fries and burgers and Snow's always craving a pizza. But you can see this place, a nice
beautiful plaza. Now I'm up pretty early so everything's kind of put up. The birds are
chirping. So we'll go ahead and explore this place before it gets going. Check this out guys.
So this is just a couple blocks down from our stealth parking spot last night. As you guys
know I'm an early riser. Snow likes to sleep in a bit. She has a hard time sleeping at night.
So, but look at this.
When I'm in this town
Nothing can break me. No, no, nothing can break me.
Look at the beautiful stars. I want to take a trip to Mars. Nothing can break me. No,
no, nothing can break me. Stars, I want to drive a faster car.
Lay my troubles to rest. Blow the smoke through my cigarette. City lights looking fine.
It is just my time now. I'm gonna be myself or I could be someone else. No one's stopping me now.
I'm gonna skip my breaks. I'm gonna make mistakes. I just want to feel alive.
It's just what I do when I'm out. So try not to hold me down. Feel alive when I'm in this town.

Senora de Loreto Concho. Loreto was the first mission capital of the
Californians and considered and it is considered as the origin of missions
missions of Alta and Baja California.
So here guys you can see the National Park, the UNESCO site that I was talking
about. So a number of islands and also a number of different mammal species, the
whales. It's the blue whales, the fin whale, humpback, gray whale. So this is
authentic. Right here. This is no tirista. Authentic tacos. We saw the locals hanging out here.
Here's the fixings on your table. They have some lime, some onions, maybe some cabbage.
Yeah should be interesting guys. All right guys it's it's rare but she's
driving again. So here's the thing. We spent the night in Loreto and we had a
nice stealth parking lot down by this little
Yeah and it was just you know we haven't been in that town for a long time and
really enjoyed that. It was a pleasure walking around. They had a huge marina
and right out there is a huge National Park. I don't know if it's a
National Park but it's a UNESCO site and they have all sorts of whales that come
in here. So it's a little bit touristy. We spent some time in the authentic
areas, had some authentic lunch and really. We didn't go see the whales yet because they're just now getting here, the blue whales.
Just arriving. And we didn't want to spend that money to go out there and not see them. So if it was a week and a half later, we would have been out there looking for blue whales.
Yeah but guys stay tuned because you know we got we got another chance to see
the great whales and we're gonna go look for the blue whales and the humpback
whales. We're gonna definitely do some whale watching in this in the next
couple weeks and I still gotta swim with the whale sharks.
I really wanna know, really wanna know, if I'll ever figure out where the road goes.
Even if I'm falling down, I will keep on searching for my highs. You can say I lost
my mind, I will keep on holding my head high. Even if the sky is falling down.
Jumping from cliffs so high, trusting our wings to fly. Sometimes we're crashing
down, but we get up and start from the ground. And I really wanna know, if I'll ever figure out where the road goes.
Even if I will keep on searching for my highs. You can say I lost my mind, I will
keep on holding my head high. Even if the sky is falling down.
Even if the sky is falling down.
Sky is falling down.
Even if the sky is falling down.
So we got here where we're gonna go out and see the whales. I'm gonna go first
thing in the morning. The wind should be lower than what we are hearing, but looks
like we caught the very tail end, almost the closing of the Grey Whale Festival 2020, right
Kurt? I mean this place has a little party going on. It definitely looks like they're
breaking it down, but it's kinda cool. There's lots of little restaurants here, a few tour
guide places. They have a nice little setup out here, don't they Kurt?
Yeah, it is nice. You know, it's not necessarily the best place to camp to be honest with you,
but we're excited. We'll get up early, we have our own boat for the whales, so it should
be a good day tomorrow. Yeah, we're just basically parked in a dirt parking lot. Yeah. But that's
okay, because it's all about tomorrow. Anything else Kurti? Nope, that's it. See y'all in
the morning.
So Kurt is back there settling up with our tour guide. Hey guys, that was so dang cool.
I mean, we were right there with a mom and a baby, and then a little bit later a mama
who they said had a little baby last year, didn't have one this year, literally just
came up and was playing with the boats. There were three boats out there watching her do
her little whale sprays. She just came right up and started playing with us. What do you
think Kurt? That was pretty amazing. That was so cool.
