And Brazil.
Well, Marcelo Bielsa rolling out a Uruguayan team
at the lowest average age in a Copa America knockout since 2004.
This is a high octane team.
We talk so much about the way in which they put teams under pressure.
De La Cruz, Ugarte and Valverde.
Valverde captaining the team once again.
And then Maxi Araujo, if you remember,
he went off in the 21st minute against the United States.
And what looked like a very nasty injury?
Well, he's in back in the starting lineup.
All scans were negative.
Darwin Nunez starts up front.
The police tree on the right.
Then for Dorival Junior, Allison starts in the nets.
These look pretty consistent in the back.
Danilo, the captain on that right hand side.
Big center back pairing in Marquinhos and Militao.
Middle of the field, Lucas Paqueta.
He's a player that will look to combine, but also late runs into the box
could be a key.
And then the big news up front.
We've been talking about the 17 year old Hendrick getting the start.
His first start for Brazil.
All nine have come off the bench.
And oh, by the way, he has scored in his debut at the under 17
and under 23 level for Brazil.
De La Cruz once again in swinging ball.
Also stays at home and the header flashes over.
Matias Oliveira, who scored the goal against the U.S.
The service is just so good from De La Cruz consistently.
And I think the late challenge for Marquinhos gets a bit of contact
on Oliveira right there as he's trying to head it.
Still had a good look at it, trying to keep it down.
It's a big test now.
And different to Brazil, who had that huge battle with Colombia
at the end of the group stage,
Hendrick gets there first, gets around Ronaldo Araujo.
Hendrick now great recovery by Araujo and the Uruguay defense.
He bulls over Hendrick from behind and a free kick.
And he knows it.
It was a really bad decision to try to play that one back to Rochette.
Rodrigo running in, put too far in front of it.
Nunez, good little move around Gomes.
Because they're forcing Brazil into the type of game that they want them to play,
which is long and hard as Nunez put it over.
Wow. What a miss.
What a miss.
And it's wide open here.
Militao just completely loses him.
And he it ends up coming off his shoulder.
He takes his eye off.
It has so much time.
The jump, I think he can get it and tries to snap the header back and guide it.
And now Rafinha, great first touch inside of Adrian Jimenez just on the field.
Rafinha and the rebound cleared away.
Now, did that ball go out?
Yes, it did.
It'll be a Brazil corner.
Wow. From what should have been a goal for Uruguay.
Guimaraes couldn't control cleanly off the chest.
Maxi Orujo, great work for Nunez.
Now De La Cruz.
Orujo down behind the play.
De La Cruz is chopped down and that will finally be the game's first yellow card.
Shonto Lucas pockets up.
Could have had a yellow before.
So I think it's about consistency.
But you're right.
I think Herrera had had enough.
And then a tie up there and a free kick for Brazil.
About 60 seconds to go in the half.
Trying to go quick, trying to get Rafinha on the run.
It checks up on the bounce from Chenna to kick it away.
And Andrew couldn't control the bounce.
Bounced off his shoulder.
Rafinha forced a save seconds later.
Here was that last moment.
Yes, Rafinha was just trying to run.
Three years ago.
But the contrast is Uruguay have not been to the semifinal since 2011.
And they've gone out in penalties in the last two quarterfinals.
Nunez using his body to help control it.
That's Valverde who tagged that thing.
But it was right out of the zone.
It's just a long direct ball.
Uruguay once again winning the second ball.
It gives the opportunity, though, for that zonal marking to really attack it,
which they did well.
They didn't beat the front man at the first post in Rafinha.
Hendrick might have been a handball.
And it is it's going to be the game's first yellow card.
And as under hits the pass wide for Nantes,
Rodrigo couldn't really get under control and get on the run.
Great little touch inside of Nantes,
bumped from behind by de la Cruz, who picks up a yellow card.
Individual ability.
A little nutmeg there, first of all, and then de la Cruz.
Marquinhos. Rodrigo takes the bump.
That's not a foul.
That one is. Nantes goes down.
Now Gomez will receive the yellow card.
Uruguayan midfielders on yellow cards.
Now two of the Brazilian yellow card.
Marquinhos is preparing to come on for Brazil as their first substitution of the night.
Rodrigo turns it inside.
Chopped down from behind.
Free kick coming. Yellow card shown.
Nantes couldn't believe that.
Pretty clear yellow there.
You see how he catches it.
Marquinhos Jr. is making the point to Yvonne Barton, the fourth official.
And here we go.
So Guillermo Pacheco has seen enough to call referee Dario Herrera over.
He's saying the player number eight, he's taking away the yellow card.
He's going to give a red card.
So Nahitan Nantes is done.
Sent off.
Uruguay will play the final 20 minutes, including stoppage time.
Down a man.
Hendrick, great first touch.
Turns it inside.
Hendrick on the deck and down to make his third save of the game.
As soon as he gets the ball, he's going to get it.
His first couple of steps.
He picks this one up there.
That first touch inside the acceleration away from Cáceres.
Take advantage of the extra man and try to find a winning goal.
Perez Pereira is going to walk it forward
and we're not even going to reach five minutes.
Well, that's interesting.
But we will now go to a penalty shootout
to decide this Copa America quarterfinal here in Las Vegas,
which Finley's in the quarterfinal on their way to the title.
Federico Valverde, his 60th career appearance, goes first
and buries it in the corner.
He's there too and how he put the ball back in.
Saves! Second round this year.
Scores! Now Rochette just in that bottom corner from Andres Pereira.
Team of the season in the Brazilian league for the last five years.
Puts it in the top corner to send Uruguay to the semifinal.
Keep Brazil alive as the nervous Vinicius Jr.
looks on in the stands here in Las Vegas.
Now a chance for Ugarte, who I felt had an excellent game for Uruguay tonight.
Played at the World Cup, has never been to a Copa America.
Had to wait for others in front of him to retire and make way.
But Manuel Ugarte can now win the shootout for Uruguay with this kick.
