What's going on everybody. This is Island Hopper TV and today we're coming to you from Nashville,
Tennessee with 28 things to do. Let's get into it. First up, here we are at the Grand Ole Opry.
Now, this here is a country music concert located here in the outskirts of Nashville,
and it's actually a radio broadcast known initially as the WSM Barn Dance, which began in 1925. For
most of the year, you can expect shows Friday and Saturday nights and during peak seasons on
Tuesday and Wednesday. And located right next to the Grand Ole Opry is the Gaylord Opryland
Resort and Convention Center. Here it is a premium hotel with over 3,000 rooms. A lot of it is an
indoor atrium, indoor garden with entertainment and shopping, dining, plenty of restaurants,
including the old Hickory Steakhouse. Now we're going to head to downtown Nashville. This here
is a hop-on hop-off trolley for the Old Town Tours. If you're looking for a great way to get
around the downtown area, I would suggest hop-on hop-off. Now, some of those sites are going to
include Broadway. Now, Broadway is really the main thoroughfare going through the heart of downtown
Nashville. Most of you will spend a lot of time going down here, especially if you're into
country music, pubs, bar crawls, all of that. They have a lot of awesome restaurants down here as
well. But as you're down here, you'll see famous names like Jason Aldean, Kid Rock. So many artists
have bars and restaurants down here that you'll want to try. I would suggest planning ahead,
taking into consideration the venues that you want to go to. Also, weekends get very crowded down
here. Make sure you dress comfortably because you will be doing lots of walking, so comfortable
shoes are a must. But get ready to enjoy some music and explore up and down. And letting your
taste buds have a go at some of this Nashville barbecue, some of the best barbecue in all of the
country. So do be sure to get some ribs. Some places to consider are going to be Martin's
Barbecue Joint, Rippy's Honky Tonk, and Jack's Barbecue right there along the Broadway area. And
don't forget Redneck Riviera Bar and Barbecue. And definitely do some rooftop bars. You've got
the Jason Aldean's rooftop, Kid Rock has a fifth floor rooftop, as well as Nudy's Honky Tonk. Such
great vibe up here at these rooftops and Broadway. Now here we are at the Ryman Auditorium, also
known as the Mother Church of Country Music. This is a historic and iconic venue here in Nashville,
originally constructed in 1892. You can actually watch a concert or event here,
or take a tour. Now here we are at the Parthenon. This here is a replica of the Parthenon in Greece
here in the Centennial Park of Nashville, built in 1897 as part of the Tennessee Centennial
Exposition. Now it is 228 feet long, 101 feet wide, and 68 feet high structure. It's also got
a statue of Athena on the inside. Good news is it is free admission to get inside here. All right,
now from the Parthenon here in Nashville, we're going to head back down to downtown. This here is
the Nashville Tractor. It's a fun way to get around. You can actually book one of these tours
for a bachelorette party or a bachelor party. Just hanging out, do what you want to do. But
really a fun way to experience Nashville, I'd say. Drinks cost anywhere between six to nine
dollars. Now here we are at Fort Nashville, right here along the river called the Cumberland River.
Now this here was a stockade and not a military garrison. This was dating back to the 1790s,
and later on obviously it would become the capital of Tennessee here in Nashville. The best way to
get across the river is by foot on the John Sagenthaler Bridge. So you can actually walk
across the river, and when you get from downtown over there, you will see the Tennessee Titans
Stadium, which we'll be talking about a little later on. Now depending on how fast you walk,
I would say it takes around 15 minutes to get from one side to the other. Definitely the downtown
Nashville side is where you want to be for most of the action, unless there's a big game. And as
we continue to show you around this Nashville travel guide, if you guys are enjoying this video,
please consider liking the video and sharing it with your friends and family who are going to be
joining you here in Nashville and subscribing to the channel. Next up, here we are at the Country
Music Hall of Fame. Known as one of the most significant musical institutions in the world,
it is a must-visit destination to anyone who comes out here and wants to learn about the heritage
of American country music. Established in 1961, this here is located right in downtown Nashville.
Ticket prices are $29.95 for adults 13 and up, and then children 6 to 12 or $19.95. As with many of
the places, try to plan ahead of time before arrival. And right next to the Hall of Fame is
going to be the Music City Center. So these are very beautiful structures, as you can see.
They're iconic landmarks here in Nashville. Now this is a convention center located right next to
the Hall of Fame. It is 353,000 square feet with a ballroom, meeting rooms, the outdoor space with
the roof. And the building's architecture is inspired by the musical heritage of Nashville,
and the roof mimics the waves of sound from a guitar, as you can see from this grassy rooftop
terrace right here. And just down the way, there is the Nashville Walk of Fame. For those of you
country music fans, you're going to see musicians, songwriters, industry professionals, and it's
mostly there to inspire people who are fans to come out and see the names of all of the legendary
artists like Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Reba McEntire, even Jimi Hendrix and
Kings of Leon. And for those of you who do not know this, Nashville is called Music City, and the reason
it's called Music City is because there was a grand old Opry radio show going when the announcer
came on and said, coming to you from Music City, USA. Here we are walking around an old classic mall
area. This is the Nashville Arcade. This is just outside of the downtown area, and you'll find this
by just going towards 4th and 5th Avenues from Broadway. You will find the Palladian facades on
the exterior, and the interior space is two stories high with a nice gabled glass roof. And as we
continue to show you around Nashville, I want to let you know there are time stamps below so you
can bounce around from destination to destination. Now we're going to talk about the Tennessee
Titans football team, so that big stadium I was telling you about earlier. Now remember, NFL season
is from September until December, typically, unless they're in the playoffs. So if you're
trying to check out an NFL game, go check out the Tennessee Titans. Over at Nissan Stadium, now we're
here at the Musicians Hall of Fame. This is a bit different than the Country Music Hall of Fame
because here they focus on all musicians. And now we're back here on the waterfront. This here is
the Nashville Auditorium, a great place to take in an outdoor concert. As you can see, Music City
really lives up to its nickname. Now we're going to head east a bit to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg
and talk about this area. This is about three hours away from Nashville. I didn't want to get
into this tour without talking about Pigeon Forge because this is where people go pretty much year
round. Whether it's snowing, cold, spring, fall, or summertime, Pigeon Forge is the place to be. And
it's friendly neighbor Gatlinburg also out here in the Smoky Mountains side by side. Two beautiful
places to explore year round. And as you'll notice, the beautiful Smoky Mountains are a place you can
explore even if you don't want to go to do the activities in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. And
here we are now at the Shemmerhorn, which is actually a symphony hall. And going along the
lines of the Music City, of course they're going to have a beautiful symphony hall here where you
can take in a show. And the beautiful building has great architecture as well. Speaking of great
architecture and places to go, this here is the Tennessee State Capitol. This is a beautiful
property and area that you can walk around. We will be showing you the park as well. But yeah,
the Tennessee State Capitol here in Nashville for those of you who didn't know that. And of course,
just next to the Capitol here is going to be the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. So this is
located on 19 acres. Beautifully manicured. You can walk around here really relaxed. I would say
coming even over here to do some exercise or a picnic. Definitely a beautiful place. Just look
at how green it is. So this is right next to the Capitol building called the Bicentennial
Capitol Park. And this here is the Belmont Mansion, also known as Ackland Hall, originally known as
Belmonte. So it's a historic mansion located right here in Nashville. If you wanted to see an old,
historical, beautiful house. And now here we are at the Nashville Zoo. This is actually the ninth
largest zoo in the country. So it's a big one. They've got a variety of animals from Africa
and other countries and continents. The ticket price is around $20 to $30. It does vary depending
on the day. And depending on that day, you will expect $4 less for the children. And Nashville
does have a beautiful arena. This here is the Bridgestone Arena, home of the Nashville Predators
National Hockey Team. So if you guys wanted to watch a hockey game or go to a concert, you can
do that here at the Bridgestone Arena. And you can't forget about doing some Tennessee whiskey
tasting while here. So you can do a tour, go out to places and try out some of this Tennessee
whiskey, some of the most famous whiskey in the world. And something unique out here in Nashville
is going to be the candies. Tennessee taffy. They have a variety of different pastries and
bakeries out here. But really trying some of these unique candies, anything you see that you
don't recognize, hey, you might want to try it, including Tennessee peanut brittle. So delicious
having some of this Smoky Mountain candy. And if you wanted to pay a tribute to the military
soldiers of Tennessee, you can head out to the Military Cemetery on the outskirts of town.
Yeah, so as you guys can see, Nashville's got a lot to see and do. And if you guys are coming here,
you'll witness a booming metropolis city that's got a lot of potential moving forward. People
are moving here. It's actually one of the fastest growing metro areas in the country. We've done a
lot of American travel guides so far. And if you guys would like to see more, let us know in the
comments which city you'd like to see a review from. That's going to conclude this episode.
