Best CHEAP Buffet! ULTIMATE Amish BREAKFAST BUFFET & "Drive-thru" Vietnamese Pho in Florida

[Music] hey guys this is m today I am in Sarasota Florida at a buffet I've been wanting to come to for a long long time so last time I was at an Amish Buffet it was the largest Amish buffet in the country in Lancaster Pennsylvania Shady Maple today I am at another Amish buffet and apparently there's a small Amish community here in Sarasota and according to USA Today it was voted in 2023 the best buffet in America and the buffet starts at around 7 a.m. it's about 10:30 right now so I just asked him if I could go and just pay for the lunch buffet they say yes so I get to try the remainder of the breakfast buffet and saay for the lunch buffet let's go get some breakfast and downstairs from the buffet is where you can pick up a lot of baked goods there's Fried Pies ooh a fresh blueberry pie there's sodas there's Bak Goods there's cookies and if a small back scratcher just ain't doing the job you got a much bigger one of course this being Florida a chocolate Gator or as they call it here chocolate swamp puppy [Music] [Music] breakfast buffet not very big I got some crispy vacon scrambled eggs with cheese sauce what looks like very crispy hash browns with tomato gravy on Top This get gravy one of my favorite things ever also something I never had before cornmeal mush which I think that's supposed to go with syrup by the way this is a very very crispy BAC this is absolutely Perfection cheesy eggs that's so good I wish all breakfast buffets has cheese sauce for the eggs break apart the bacon in the eggs even better yeah this is definitely not your typical breakfast buffet everything here it just tastes better the bacon tastes better the eggs tastes better and usually for hash browns I'll just put some ketchup but they have tomato gravy for their hash brown that's insane that tomato gravy so good very thick a little sweet it's almost like a very rich tomato soup this is my favorite right here biscuit and gravy growing up in the midwest this is my happy place right here and then add the crispy bacon inside they don't have it here but corn beef hash and biscuits and gravy ultimate breakfast comfort food for me and here the biscuits are crumply the gravy is Rich and thick and peppery which I love I love a little additional pepper on my biscuits and gravy oh for condiments here they have China butter and apple butter back in college I went to college in this little town in Missouri and when you're hungry at like 2:00 in the morning which happened all the time for me there's only one place that's open this little diner that just makes the best biscus and gravy I would eat that at least three times a week so yeah I love bis and is amazing here especially again with that Ultra crispy bacon and just Hy hash browns this cornmeal hash never had this before got a little bit of serup for [Music] it that's so good so fried cornmeal mush basically fried grits last time I had that was in New Orleans I never forgot how good it was this might be my my favorite thing on the plate it's so crispy on the Outside Inside you got that great fragrance and subtle sweet flavor from the cornmeal I mean it goes really good with syrup I think that would also go amazingly with gravy Savory or sweet there a no wrong way to eat that almost lunch buffet time going to try to sneak a second bowl of biscuits and gravy and definitely in a cornmeal mush [Music] actually round two saw a lot of stuff I didn't try before the cheesy potatoes came out so it's basically cheesy hash browns oh that's so good this is really cheesy hash browns and honestly everything here just made better with that all a crispy bacon this might be the crispiest bacon I ever had anywhere oh that's so great this French toast looks amazing look at all that egg on the outside dunk that in the syrup oh that's so good this is freaking amazing French toast wow this thing has a golden brown crust with just the most pillow be soft interior I mean even outside of the syrup the French toast itself has a subtle sweetness with a little cinnamony Aroma it's rich and thick but at the same time it just melts in your mouth so glad I got to try that M baked oal is good there's fruit crisps tastes like a gooey apple pie also got some pancakes add some of this apple butter on top it's like munching on a thin edible pillow I normally don't really even like french toast for pancakes this is incredible I still remember the first time in my life I truly fell in love with a plate of pancakes it was at an Amish Restaurant in Pennsylvania also this apple butter it's like thick Rich much sweeter applesauce oh so good with pancakes I bet this thing would be awesome on toast too this is really interesting this is called a fruit slush it looks like a fruit salad slush it tastes exactly like that it tastes um like the canned fruit that used to get in middle school or high school cafeteras it tastes like that but Frozen not bad this is called a Amish Delight I have no idea what's in this it looks very custardy it's very custardy very rich and creamy we definitely taste bananas it's a little nutty it's like a much richer milkier banana pudding and I managed to snag a pastry before they took all this away it's like a cloud and I'm not just talking about that whipped Night clean filling in the middle the outside dough of the pastry tastes like a cloud inside just tastes like a lighter Cloud it's like a sweet Cloud Inception pastry I finish this as they switch out the breakfast items for lunch and then we'll grab some lunch first thing I had to get from the buffet a plate a roasted chicken so roasted I never heard that term before it's apparently a cooking process that was invented in Wisconsin so essentially the chicken is fried in a pressure cooker which I think makes it healthier anyway got a wing got a brushed oh so good that is a juicy juicy piece of fried chicken the outer skin is very crunchy and also tastes incredibly light definitely not as nearly as greasy as a traditional Fried [Music] Chicken yeah definitely need more of this [Music] for lunch buffet has a salad bar and then just a wide array of home cook and comfort food items like mac and cheese there's Gourmet mashed potatoes so basically cheesy mashed potatoes there's dressing barbecue chicken what looks like turkey potato wedges giant potato wedges there green beans cream of corn of course the roasted chicken there's clam chowder as well I don't see a bowl though trying to get us some clam chowder this Gourmet mashed potato looks amazing oh that's freaking incredible I love mashed potatoes and these are probably the cheesiest mashed potatoes I've ever had this mashed potato it reminds me of the French dish pal Lio just very cheesy delicious mashed potatoes that is incredible I think this the first time on the show I've ever raved about mashed potatoes for this long it deserves it but that thing needs some recognition that is a 10 out of 10 mashed potato I'm pretty sure they make everything from scratch these are the biggest potato wedges I've ever [Music] seen crunchy scank soft inside chased that with some barbecue chicken I got to say the quality of the food here is really really good I think Shady Maple might be the biggest Amish Buffet but I think this one tastes better even the dressing tastes good turkey a little dry other than that everything else on this plate delicious that mashed potato is so good it feels like that is the star of this plate and the chicken and everything else it's just supporting axe of course everything tastes like it just came from Grandma's Kitchen I mean this is just the most ultimate comfort food I mean this just feels like food that your body craves it doesn't just feel you up this food is incredibly satisfying and only when you start eating it is when you realize that's where you've been craving again much smaller scale than Shady Maple but the food quality is incredible especially this is one buffet I think I like the breakfast more I love the biscuits and gravy I love the French toasted pancake the cornmeal hash I mean don't get me wrong the lunch is amazing but that breakfast even the most common food items like scramble eggs and bacon it just tastes so Heavenly here all right a few more pieces of the fried chicken then I can hit the road had to get a peach butter only $3.99 for this jar that's such a good [Music] deal so in Orlando for a couple days and I'm always on the look out for new restaurants and this one popped up in a Chinese food group I'm in h fun and lot of people said this is the best Chinese food they've ever had let's see if that's true do look like quite a few really interesting dishes it's like a mix between citon and Northern Foods there's noodles there's stir fry dishes let's get a bunch first dish I got is a steamed chicken with Citron chili sauce don't think I've ever seen a dish like this before this kind of reminds me of a saliva chicken but little more complex so here your scallions peanuts tons of chilies and it's sitting in a pool of Red Hot Chili oil [Music] that's awesome yeah this thing will lights your taste Buzz up both with this awesome flavor and also it's heat index it's off to chars if you guys ever had a saliva chicken before it tastes like that really really tender steamed chicken but this thing has way more ingredients a lot of scallion peanuts cilantro and just a ton of burning delicious Heat this is actually and what the owner told me was that if I can't finish it I take it home let it sit overnight in the sauce and let that sauce really steep in here it's going to taste even better tomorrow I mean I'm had any food since the buffet this morning so I don't think this going to last till tomorrow but if anybody comes here and gets this and let us sit overnight let me know how it tastes next day this is one of my favorite dishs of all time this is thin slices of pork belly sitting in a very flavorful pool of hot oil and garlic and inside you can see here it's rolled in cucumbers you can definitely see a lot of fat in this pork belly and I never seen it served with a side of noodles before just make sure you dunk this whole thing inside that sauce take your noodles let that swim in the sauce as well it's a tad on the sweet side but the PO is very nice and tender and fatty and the richness from the pork and that fat is balanced really nicely by the refreshing [Music] cucumbers personally I would like even more garlic in here mainly because I just love everything absolutely doused in garlic but this is very good and I like the noodles because every time I eat this dish I do feel bad for leaving the sauce on the play we're in the bowl and now I don't have to this next Dish as soon as this thing came out of the kitchen you I can smell it this is your smoked duck that smokiness is off the charts this is the best smelling dish I've had today hope it tastes as good as it smells it's beautiful you can see the smokering in the duck and the skin is absolutely paper thin it's separated from the fat [Music] already I've had many versions of this stuff before this is my favorite one this is extraordinary 10 out of 10 wow that's the best version of this dish I ever had hands down my favorite two dishes so far the steamed chicken and the duck my absolute favorite I think this is the smokiest one I've gotten so far but this is the first time with a smoke just lingers in your mouth the duck is extremely tender and fatty the Skin's got a subtle crunch to it it almost behaves a little like a peeking duck the skin just melts in your mouth just traces of Momi and smoke yeah they really not it out of the park with this dish also got a chili beef one of my favorite classic Citron dishes pretty good that's a really tender beef all right this they said is their number one dish this is stir fry rice noodle looks like a very basic stir fry noodle dish but they say they get the noodle specially from China and it's a Shany specialty I never had this before I mean I've had rice noodles before but I never really had like a shansi signature stir fry rice you know before and this thing just smells like it's got an incredible amount of w inside there's some bok choy some pork some shallots just like the duck I hope it tastes as good as it smells love it there's a lot of flavor and a ton of heat in this Plato of noodles the pork is scrumches a nice Crump crunchy chew and a slight hint of bitterness from The Young bok choy and these noodles are just so chewy and springy yeah every bite so much W I was going to get some rice to eat the dishes with don't need this is the perfect vessel this is so much better than just plain rice also the prices are really good so the stir fry noodles that I got it's only $10.95 for this giant pl- of noodles the pork dish about 12 bucks all the noodles dishes were were fried rice dishes all around 10 bucks overall another really tasty restaurant nobody is in here I think they just opened a few months ago or something if you want really authentic Chinese food this is a great place in Orlando I would recommend get the noodles get the duck get the chicken those are definitely my favorites tonight all right got to get back to my needles before it gets cold see you in a bit the next day morning Orlando just been a very quick trip driving through Orlando I'm actually on my way to Lafayette Louisiana for a crawfish boil and anyway it's going to be about 11 hours on the row so see if we can find some breakfast so this is really interesting restaurant this is a beauty me drive-thru restaurant oh wow look at this so all the condiments is self served I've never seen a drive-thru FL restaurant before but this is really really cool so you walk inside there's a station full of all the condiments the herbs the Sprouts the Citrus jalapenos so you can get as much of that as you want they have everything from fud to bubble tea to spring rolls it's fairly big size menu that's a nice [Music] place I got a full rib F in this bone easily slid off the meat just breaking this apart of my Chopsticks yeah this is a tender tender rib broth looks good it smells good oh yeah this is delicious that is a light but Ultra beefy mommy filled broth in the rib really really tender yeah barely need to chew that the noodles though that just might be the star of the show even with a giant full rib sitting next to it I never seen fun noodles like this before this is definitely not your typical packaged noodles and I just remembered this place they make their own noodles I mean you can tell from these ridges these are not standard packaged fot noodles at all these are by far the springiest cheest flood noodles I ever put in my mouth oh that's impressive that aone really sets those ways apart and there is actually a lot of Vietnamese F restaurants in the Orlando area there Place definitely worth a visit also unlimited basil also I love the fact that if you just want to eat your foot at home go through the drivethru a few minutes later that was scrumptious bowl of noodles I think next time I'm getting double water noodles also this place comes with bottles of water so if you're driving through Florida you're going to pass through the town of okaa and I saw this candy shop when I was passing through Pennsylvania Grandpa Joe's candy shop and apparently they have a famous candy buffet there's definitely a pretty big candy store it's a little train set going on top of the store and a lot of sodas let's find out what this candy buffet is all about oh my gosh this is a lot of root beer oh look at this coke I think this is from China it's uh way light San so future 3000 year Coke yeah future Edition Coke this is interesting oh these are some interesting flavors ketchup soda bacon soda blue cheese soda pickle kettle corn pink lemonade that sounds a little less vomi banana bubblegum these are some intense flavors these like the really Wonka flavors of soda marshmallow actually sounds pretty good so this is the candy buffet look at this [Music] I got a candy buffet and Grandpa Joe's chocolate soda chocolate soda not half bad you know if I got the marshmallow soda and the graham cracker soda could have mixed them together and had a some more soda [Music] [Music] it's about 1:00 in the morning finally reached Lafayette Louisiana so tomorrow we're going to catch our own crawfish and then cook it up and all that starts bright and early and this has been
