Carlos Alcaraz vs Daniil Medvedev Extended Highlights | Nitto ATP Finals 2023

Pretty solid start from Medvedev. There we go, perfectly illustrated. Yeah, there's the conundrum and that's just a second serve. Doing very nicely. He's won the green group. Oh, there's the drop shot that you're expecting to see on a regular basis today. Crazy angle. Medvedev probably didn't think he was in too much danger here. He had a good court position. Breaking the sideline beautifully. Oh, tremendous stuff. One of those points you just sit back and enjoy. What a finish. It's point of the week for me. So much variety. Looked as if Medvedev was going to get him with this little droppy. Look at the speed. Look at the control. No, he's missed it. The gap is there. Beautiful drop shot. Medvedev did well to shovel that one back in. Some good aggression from Medvedev and maybe just starting to realize that he has to play. Reaction to lights out forehand. 151 kilometers an hour on the run. An inspired Carlos Alcaraz makes his move. Seven points in a row. It's good. Brilliant set from Alcaraz and he's halfway there in terms of qualifying for the semifinals. Remember, win today and he's through. Particular. Oh, just clip the tape. Nothing he could do really. Alcaraz's average for the season on serve has been 7.8. So he really has served well. Look at this pass to Medvedev. It's another really good serve. Again, such a clever point. Point finish. First break point save. Oh, not the case that time. Halfway up the net. Oh, got him that time. Alcaraz doing everything he could to get a racket on that return but just a bit too good from Medvedev. Yeah, that's what can happen when it's just not quite enough on the serve. Maybe just relax one or two percent from 40 love. Nevertheless, what a volley. Ridiculous from Alcaraz. He was favorite for the point once he landed this huge forehand but Medvedev made it really difficult for him. Redentless from Alcaraz into that forehand corner. Only things can happen. Oh, tried to go big. He's missed it long. He's going to challenge but there's no way this was it. It's been an untidy service game in truth from Medvedev if this has missed. Play has been just brilliant at times today. Beautiful little delicate volley here. Medvedev kept chasing it but Alcaraz produces under pressure and he's into the semi-finals. Straight sets win means he wins the red group. He joins Medvedev in the last four and that means Alexander Zverev is out. What a semi-final Saturday we have to look forward to. The top four players in the world Djokovic, Alcaraz, Medvedev and Sinner all through in Turin and what a performance that was. A special, special player does it in an hour and 19, 6-4, 6-4.
